Classic example of packs not being mixed on that gable at 5:31. Indicative of everything wrong with bulk housebuilders over the last 30 years. Good advice again. Looking forward to your take on Tennis Elbow.

Nice mix of sort of pick and dip with a buttered end with small trowel, then traditional long spread with your larger trowel.
I remember back in the early 90s using thermalite and I think in the packaging it mentioned a 7:1 mix.

Great idea Andy using the finger trowel (slicker) behind the strap, it's a true saying that everyday is a school day. Bad luck about the van but at least you've dropped lucky being able to collar the wife's van, it'll probably cost half the money for the wife's car but at around £15k I'd imagine a guy like you will have that in your biscuit tin! 😉 The real bad luck was not getting half day Friday....🤣

Depends on the bricks, the morter shouldn't be stronger than the bricks 3 and 1 might be to strong, if it was originally built in Lime morter some will say use NHL, 5 and 1and 1 with Hydrated lime should be good enough.
