Coming back to the game after like 5 years, I'm considering trying LM. It was one of the classes that I never liked playing, thought it was too boring. But after watching this video, I'll definitely try it tonight.
Nice to meet you, great video. I'm 17 years in lotro, have rolled over a dozen LM's in that time. This version of the LM is i'm afraid very OP in red line. I have rolled 3 LM's on Mordor to get all my crafting covered as they level so fast.I already see and hear on the forums the moans and groans from other classes so I am afraid the class will eventually nerfed. But hey enjoy it while it lasts.
I am brand new to the game, playing on the Angmar server and I chose blue line lore master. I’m having fun with my pets being absolute juggernauts while I sit back from afar and pepper the enemies with damage over time spells and other abilities
@@deployablelover I am quite enjoying myself and can see myself progressing through every expansion to come. I just love the feel of the game. I am a veteran of Runescape for 20 years now and although I obviously like it (lol), LOTRO is so refreshing
I'm pretty new to Lotro, started as a Champion got him to Level 20 and wasn't really a big fan of it. Today I saw this and made a Loremaster. I won't go back now, this is so much fun.Thank you alot for this.
OMG this is happening to me right now! I've been a Hunter main since 2013 and never looked at LM, didn't pick my interest in any way all this time. up until recently while playing on Angmar server I finally gave it the chance and I can't stop playing LM. Having a blast with the red line!
LM was my main prior to the big changes. Still is. Yes, I lament losing the ability to run with my pets, or having stuns and roots even in the Red Line. But I also like how every line is different and unique now. Plus, the Red Line damage feels stronger than ever.
Back then, loremaster was all about debuffs and giving juice to healers, while doing damage with stick gourd and dots. Beorcrusher from Meneldor for those who know(Alpha/beta testers)
You should try yellow, being able to stun, root, slow, and daze enemies makes a LM insane. My last LM was yellow and just made a new one on a leg server.
@@daveisnothere I’ve got 1 point in yellow which is the group daze but tbh at the moment I have no need to stun even at landscape 2 and level 50 as everything is dead too early haha
@@alastairtivy-harris8129 Mostly crowd control, being able to take enemies out of the fight for a while lets you control the flow of the battle, adds are not an issue usually.
I've played a Blue Lore-master for a bit up to level 20 or so. At +3 difficulty, with an eagle pet, and crafted purple gear, I was able to solo Shadowy and Mournful wraiths, the Lore-master feels very powerful. Sometimes losing aggro can be an issue, but that's a matter of starting off slowly. As long as you can keep your pet healed, and you get several skills to do just that, there's very little out in the open world that poses an actual threat.
I actually noticed this yesterday as for a laugh I went into the great barrow on my own to see if I can do it. All enemies lvl 29 and I was lvl 29 too. I absolutely wiped the floor on red line LM. It seems kinda broken honestly.
@@deployablelover I also played a Red Guardian at some point, I wanted to do the two-handed bad-ass dorf fantasy, but that line and class is simply not capable of soloing wraiths at lower levels. I don't know if it gets better later on, but it's frustrating and mind boggling just how large the gaps between certain classes are...
The Improved Ignition spec trait (1st one on the left column) makes your lightning skills consume Burning Embers on the enemy for bonus damage. Drawback is, yeah, you have to stand still for a quick second. The improvement from before, though, is that you can move immediately once your induction bar says 'Success', for all inducted skills. The Master of the Elements spec trait (2nd one) makes frost skills used after fire skills apply a debuff that makes enemies more susceptible to crits, and frost skills used after lightning skills apply a slow. So (I think) that's an AoE slow if you use Gust of Wind after a lightning skill. I'm not sure if the slow effects stack if you use Wizard's Frost. That's what 'Frost Vulnerability' means in the tooltips, I believe. Wizard's Frost (as someone else pointed out) on a Flanked target gives you a heal. Wizard's Spark/Lightning Strike (in Red) on a Flanked target gives you a speed boost. In Red, you can trigger Flanks on command with the Minor/Major Calls, even without a pet active. If you use Major Call with a pet active, the threat reduction it does means that the aggro will go to your pet. - - - Other people already vouch for Blue line but I can also vouch for Yellow line: the Insult To Injury passive in Yellow gives you strong damage options and they're so nice to have in addition to your CC, your pet, and your heals. Yellow has less overall DPS than Red and Blue, but it's very much a capable spec for solo content. I encourage players to give Yellow a try, especially in the new servers since I hear that most LMs are Red or Blue but they need Yellow LMs in groups too. 😆 Also Yellow Burglars and Mariners.
@@Caerulean thank you for your in depth comment and additions to the video! Just goes to show how in depth each class truly goes! Appreciate you checking out the video ☺️
I started with a Champion on the free servers, just to try out the game and very quickly I got myself VIP and started a blue LM. Never looked back at the Champion. I really like it and solo the wraiths with the pets being the tank. Even did the Weathertop quest solo (though I picked Fellowship).

You make a hell of an argument good sir. I'll hit pause on my Champ to give LM a try. What do you think about the difficulty curve with LM? Probably not as complicated as Warden, but do you feel like having it listed as "advanced" is still accurate?
Hey! Appreciate you! Honestly on a surface level the lore master is as easy as any other class. Click and kill. The difficulty comes with knowing the synergies of your pets, status effects, flanks, heals etc.
@@VoiceoftheRings Hey Zollin! Firstly it’s an honour to have you! I popped into your streams a few times but never played with you! Not to say I would ever be against it ☺️ Appreciate the love my friend ❤️
Hear me out: play the blue LM. Once you hit lvl32, you will get a dps pet and a more efficient self heal, it will all become a breeze. 1 to 31 is a drag though. Just keep pushing forward until 32.
