I remember when Yarok was spoiled, man I was so excited. New commander for me. So me and a couple of friends head into town and stop by the game shop and they have these M20 planeswalker decks already for sale a couple of weeks before M20 was coming out, so we all thought why not pick one up. One friend wasn't to be paid until the end of the week however, so I covered it for him no problem. These planeswalker decks came with an M20 booster in them, and by this point they both knew how excited I was for Yarok, then the friend I bought the deck for open hs pack and lo and behold, what does he pull? He pulls a foil Yarok in the pack I bought him before my very eyes. Was he gragious? Was he fuck. That very Yarok then went on to torment the rest of out playgroup for the next year-year and a half. Good times
no idea why people play Brawl, spend even money on Wildcards for Brawl and signaling WotC that Brawl is okay. Simply boycott this horrible play format and force WotC to implement real EDH. If I want to play against Mono Red Aggro, I queue in Standard, Explorer or Historic, but no, those people are even in Brawl.

My Craterhoof I will always refer to as Chadhoof. I had a crappy opening hand and had to put it on the bottom of the deck. I ended up getting it on the same turn I got my 8th land because of deck shuffling. I was so sad, because my go-to finisher was on the bottom of the deck. And it still ended up being my finisher right after I used cultivate. Cultivate was the first time I reshuffled my deck. The RNG gods blessed me so hardcore to the point I felt dirty even winning that match.
Great deck! I checked and do not have Yarok yet but will get him the next mythic wildcard I get. What a fun deck. Keep up the great content! You inspire my brawl, standard and explorer playing the most! :)
great commander. and a lot of fun as well. Threw in shcholar of the lost trove bc i was missing a mythic and was able to get a double timewalk via burning rune demon. Provioner+cobra made it all happen within one turn. whatta play whatta deck.
What I like about this deck is that Yarok is just gravy. You can very easily just win on a normal BUG ramp/value plan, but if you get yarok in play, you just bury the opponent.
Oh HELL YES!!! I've had an EDH Yarok deck since he came out, and let me tell you, he's SO obnoxious hahahaha so much value!!!! And we both know how much you love value, Luca xD Awesome deck and great job man!!!
In the first game, Massacre Wurm would have done 4, rather 2 twice, is it would have worked out well. But I play a deck similar to 5his and there's a lot of little synergies that are hard to track. Nice build and very well played
@@LegenVD very good point. You're an amazing player, and I don't question your lines, i was under the impression that you may not have seen that line. Thanks for making awesome content
Hi LVD, quick question I've always wondered. Is there a reason you don't use card art when showing off decks (parallax or alternate art)? Is it for clarity sake? The Explore alternate art made me think of it.
I avoid parallax styles because it would cause jarring transitions during the hundreds of editing cuts in every video. Without those styles it’s easier to make seamless transitions. Flying creatures are still the worst though 😂
In the first game (~12:00) I'd block courier with cobra so if they do decide to sac it instead of trade you keep the cobra for more mana instead of the 1/1 which has already used its effect, and the steamkin would still die since it's a 1/1 at base so you only need to deal 1 to kill it if they use its mana effect.
32:26 What do you mean by returning Yarok to the Command Zone to get its abilities back? Doesn't perpetually means that moving between zones doesn't get the effect to wear off?
Brawl is becoming my favorite format because it doesn't required that you have 4 copies of the same card and for a casual free to play player like me, that is quite good
Hey LVD! Love your content! I was curious how a Sarulf brawl deck would work/look but I haven’t really seen any proficient players give it a proper go. So I’m curious how you’d build your version. Thanks!
At 11:10 you said opponents creatures are a little too big for massacre wurm. It triggers twice tho so it would kill all your opponents creatures if I'm not mistaken
By the time it's our turn their commander would probably outgrow it and still prefer the lifegain. Especially if they manage to answer Yarok it's better to plan for the worse case.
@@LegenVD not really, When the wurm hits the field Yarok ability triggers and even if they kill Yarok it still goes off giving all his stuff -4, -4 which kills hims commander and -14 hp on top. Which leaves you ahead. But its all up to you on how you want to play said commander. I use the wurm in a black cycle and can get all opponents creates -100, -100. with sac outlets and grave power.
@@yarogrigoriev1609 In this hypothetical scenario they would either kill Yarok in their turn or at instant speed before the Wurm hits the battlefield. Dealing extra damage is fun, but in this case as long as we survive and gain some life we have the upper hand in the late game. No need to take the extra risk.
Ritual can be decent here, although with all the other ramp in the deck it can be redundant and cheating out Yarok doesn't necessarily do much by itself if it can get answered. I like Ritual a lot more in monoblack decks or any commander with a strong ETB effect or a Planeswalker. Wash Away can be great too, but this deck usually wants to tap out so can be awkward to keep up mana for it. Sometimes it's better to go for you own synergies and overpower the opponent as opposed to trying to interact on the stack.
Please keep doing brawl! It's quickly becoming my favorite format and I love your content!
Mine too!
same! loving the historic brawl content!
Yeah I wholly agree with this
My favorite commander, from my favorite MTG creator. Nice
Same! Was so excited to finally see this video.
Risen reef goes HARD in this deck! If it goes unanswered, it will just win the game on it's own haha 💕

"VALUUUUUEEE... VAAALUUUUUEEEEE..."
"Gain more life, draw more cards: it's the Yarock way." 😂😂😍 That should be trade marked.

AFTER YEARS PLAYING YAROK, THE DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED. THANK THE GODS. AND THANK YOU LUCA!
Oh man at the comboing at 25:43 is so satisfying

I always find it funny when I seem to play against a lot of a certain commander one day and BOOM I find a video on it the following day.
Seeing that combination of mana in the thumbnail activated my PTSD, I'm suing for damages
I really love yarok with viviens arkbow. ITs such a fun wacky combo to discard a land and search through your deck for creatures
Ah my beloved standard yarok deck with 4x field of the dead, I miss you so much
11:30 - if I'm not mistaken, Massacre Wurm also triggers twice, so it does have the potential to wipe opponent's board.
Blade Reforged is likely to grow and prefer the extra lifegain.

YES!! I waited a long time for this day!! Thanks for the great content.

11:29 Massacre Worm also doubles with Yarok. Wouldve been -2 twice killing all and gaining life. =) saved me many times with the desecrated
Wurm doesn’t gain life unfortunately, we’re too used to Meathook Massacre 😅

Speaking of Laelia... I'd love to see you build a brawl deck around her... she seems rather vulnerable and difficult to make consistently good.

Certainly reasonable

The only thing that this deck is missing is
The Hourglass Coven!
Thought about it but decided to forego Alchemy cards in case people want to play it in paper.
