Since I found these guys a few months ago, I am becoming a Runrig addict....lol I even have a playlist for their songs. Never been to Scotland but it has always been my dream to go. Such a beautiful country. My father's father (grandfather) was born in Scotland but I don't remember where.
I can never understand why this song is so rarely heard at Runrig gigs now. As one of many young Scots trying to make a life south of the border in the 80s, this song was an anthem, an inspiration and a source of hope.......simple but so poignant.
im sorry you had to emigrate from your home to find a better life outside of Scotland. I hope you found better times and i hope you find the chance to come back to your homeland. Saor Alba. for the Gael!
Dust and The Old Boys really stand out as two of the most atmospheric and awesome tracks in the Runrig discography for me, I always found it strange that this should happen when they were consecutive tracks on an album.
Reminds me of a very dear friend Wads gone from us far too early Taught the chords by Malcolm after a gig at Strathclyde Uni he was so up for it..For this reason this song will always mean a lot
just watched there must be a place oh wow i now know why everyone cried .. wished id seen them in edinburgh but couldnt get a ticket .. they will always be in our hearts
now - nearly 20 years, after i travelled Skye - i have tears in my eyes watching this. Yes, i lost a bit of my heart there - and once a day i will return again :) Greetings from Germany
The ridge seen at 1:20 is druim na ram leading from the main cuilin ridge down (south-east) with loch coruisk on the right. The bealach na ba is over on the mainland between loch carron and applecross but has great views across to raasay and sky
The Dust are the Gaels thrown off the land by their own countrymen. There's a big difference between a Scotsman and a Highlander, I'm the latter, and will never conform to the former.
It’s great to hear Calum sing on this, and the accordion at the end
Saw them in 1981/82 in concert at Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh. Brilliant night - an d we were all in a huge circle dance at the end.
if ever a song fitted a video, that was it.bloody brilliant.

+David Watson They did play this at all the gigs I went to in the last few years, including their 40 year Party on the Moor anniversary concert. :-)
Was played on the tour but was not played at Moir of ord

As a Scot abroad, I find this song so powerful and emotive.
This is soooo beautiful I could cry... First time I went to Skye I felt I had been there before... Amazing! Wonderful song, outstanding pictures!
You have been there before.

My two favourite Runrig songs. Someone on a course I attended introduced me to their music in the late 1980s.
@Kate285This is only beautiful ,with some gentle music in the background ,fantastic ,thanks Kate for sharing ,Christie.
Just gorgeous. That one about midway through looked like a dragon.
Absolutely beautiful video such a wonderful look at unspoilt country. I so admire Runrig for caring about the land and the language so much.

The land, the language and the people.
Weird how tracks randomly pop into your head.
Haven't heard this since I was a kid & my Dad used to play his Runring cassette on family road trips.

That little beauty would be the Inn Pin as climbers know it or the Inaccessible Pinnacle which is belting little scramble up the long side!
The Inn Pinn is at 3:02 for those looking for it. Great climb. Great music.
RIP Bruce,
