Wow! So many amazing things in this tour from the architecture to the art to the accessories, etc, etc, etc..... That crazy cannister set (uppers, downers, qualudes, etc.) made me squeal out loud!! lol Thanks for sharing!!
Jamie you radiate absolute joy throughout this entire video, but no wonder. What amazing homes. When I was little (in the 60’s) I had one ritzy aunt and uncle who had a beautiful mid century home overlooking a lake - visiting them was always so cool! They had one bathroom that had a lavender bathtub, sink and toilet - I loved it so much.
Great video and thanks for sharing! Love the story about the lamps. I have family in California, I should get with them and plan a trip for next year. ❤
Thank you for taking us along. Amazing homes. House I use to live in was built in 1940 and had original yellow and green tile in the kitchen. I loved it but the original Mrs of the house must have 4 feet tall because the counter height was pelvis height lol
Jamie- You do such a great job with your videos, editing, voice over and choice of music. I also attended the 2023 MCM week and went on the "Twin Palms" tour.... the Tahquitz River Estates tour looks like a bigger bang for your buck, sorry I missed it. My wife and I are going this Sunday, 3/19 to Alohana - "a Palm Springs celebration of tiki culture". I'll be selling my personal collection of Hawaiian posters, art, tiki wall hangings and original movie posters from the 1960's. Andrew
Well Jamie what a great video again. I’ve been waiting for this video since you mentioned it last week on one of your other videos. can’t wait for the next one thank you and happy birthday I believe you mentioned it before that your birthday is in Marchit😅
It never occurred to me to sit down, but I don’t think it was expressly said not to. The homeowners were all there, I’m sure if someone asked them to sit they’d say go right ahead 😁
Love these homes yes entertaining was a big deal back in the day...have you been to elvis house? Saw a tour on TV next time I go to PS I'm going to check it out.
I've only driven by the Elvis/Pricilla Honeymoon house, but it's was getting renovated the last few years I've been there. I've heard they might have tours now and it's definitely on my short list of places to see!
Do people actually live in these homes or are they just for show? Great video I really enjoyed seeing all the different houses and their uniqueness. ✨✨
It’s so fun, I’m sure you’ll love it! These were all ticketed tours and they sell out pretty fast! You can get tickets online for all the different events and tours at modernismweek.com/
MCM the High Point of Modernism.
The Magnificent Era of the 50s 60s 70s.🤩

That canister set was one of my favorite things on the whole tour ahaha 😆
Great Video! Amazing Homes! Brings you back to an era of living! Thank you for sharing!!
Having a home people want to tour is the dream!!!
No kidding! I’m just aiming for a house that isn’t too messy to be embarrassing when the dishwasher repair man comes inside 🤣🤣

Oh thank you so much! I so wish I could have gone to Alohana! It sounds soooo fun. How did it go?
I'm happy with your favorite home. I'm flying out on Wednesday to buy one of those homes. They remind me of the house a few up in.
Congratulations! What an exciting time!!

This homes are so neat! What a tour! Were you told not to sit on furniture? I would have wanted to take it all in. Thanks for sharing.

These homes were built for the day when people had parties like the ones on Dick Van Dyke.
EXACTLY!
"BC 1297, nah i just like making stuff up" LOL
I wished people decorated more mid centry. Wasn't there used to be a map of more houses you can tour of yourself.?
I’m not sure, but we’ve done driving tours ourselves from maps online. I don’t know of any where you can go inside without paying for it.
First comment!

Do people actually live in these homes or are they just for show? Great video I really enjoyed seeing all the different houses and their uniqueness. ✨✨
Yes they actually have people living in them! The homeowners were there most of the time to answer questions and talk to people. What a dream life!
@@MidCenturyWasted Wow that's awesome ✨✨
Which one y'all buy
I wish!!!!
First year going! Curious, to see these homes/self guided tours are they open house or ticketed? Going this Oct! :)
It’s so fun, I’m sure you’ll love it! These were all ticketed tours and they sell out pretty fast! You can get tickets online for all the different events and tours at modernismweek.com/
@@MidCenturyWasted What was this tour called? I feel like there's less in October vs Feb?
@@NevilleBlack that might be true. The October event is smaller. This was the Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood walking tour.
@@MidCenturyWasted Ah ok, well hopefully its offered this year or something like it. Last min trying to plan this out haha! Thanks for your reply!!
How much those homes
I’m not sure exactly what they’re worth but definitely millions. Most in that neighborhood are between $1-2 million but some go for much more.
What's that song called on 13:42
