Stumbled across this wave on my first jaunt to the east coast a decade ago. Caught it a little overhead, barrelling, with no-one else out, surreal perfection. Solo bliss was milked until well after dark, when I stumbled up in the beach in the moonlight as a helicopter flew overhead and beamed a spotlight on the water... Someone who knew I'd headed out had noticed I hadn't returned from the surf so called panicked and called the coastguard! Scored 3 barrels on 3 consecutive waves, almost mirrors of eachother, one of the my best ever sessions really. Great footage
Some of that looked like Icy Teahupoo . What a spot . One barrel near the beginning was one of the best I've ever seen . How the hell didn't that lad get out of that dark pit !???? I'm so glad the UK boys have a world class wave too . Keep it a secret. Although with conditions that cold water I reckon it'll never be that overcrowded . Would love to see it on a sunny warm day and little wind
So blessed to have this wave on my doorstep call it home and have surfed it for nearly 40 years ! Also looking at the all the comments I am amazed no one has named and shamed it as for a lot of years this wave was getting way to much exposure from the likes of Sharpy at Carve mag and other magazines & social media outlets / photogs etc which in turn caused a huge rise in crowds & back-lash of People camping leaving rubbish and pissing off the village locals as well as some of the Crew who have surfed this spot for a long time. Great to see things have calmed down and everyone just enjoying getting barrelled and having some fun...
I work with customs and the tanker seen at 1:21 is subject to an enquiry at present. Please send the time and gps location of this video so we can triangulate their activities. Kind regards customs officer
There are actually 3 point all at the same spot. Rock shelf dipping into the North Sea. Breaks into a metre of water at low tide. Local village called S_ai_ _es. Surfed here in the 90s before moving somewhere warmer to have ear surgery!
Heartly reef goes offff on its day. North East of England just a little bit North of the lighthouse of Whitley. Who doesn't love a clean glassy spitback wave. Yeeeow !!! In their whu 🏄
The rider without gloves made me think it wasn't the obvious spot. Reading the rest of the dumb reveals in the comments makes me realise the fella must have superhero mitts
Can you reveal the holy grail? Or is this another set where u turn up and get funny looked at cos your dropping in on people on a softop ripping thier own wave up, showing them how its dun longsands style?
@@Axel-rs5xt Not Cornwall this is NE England where they have some really good reef set ups like this one. The other give away that it's not Cornwall is the temperatures, Cornwall air temp around 10 degrees and water 11 degrees.

Yeah I remember years ago it was always being featured. I think that was largely due to the hype surrounding Gabe Davies at the time.
