Excellent episode Sir! I really enjoy watching you build, I learned several things watching this and hearing you talk about what you are doing and why is awesome. I know it's not looting and killing zombies, which is what most want to see, but I find it fascinating. Thanks a lot!
Another great episode sir! I love how you stave off all of the "you should" comments with your explanation and get over it 🤣🤣I also tried the pit approach and it backfired big time as the digging is excessive by all the zeds it seems like. I'm excited to see the end result!
Stability only factors if there is full connection from the block to Bedrock, so stability is only improved by keeping the blocks under the pillar from being damaged/weakened. Doesn't matter the type. In Rebirth Soil is Explosion resistant, but apparently not bandit resistant so having the first layer or two at ground level helps to secure stability by keep the connection to bedrock protected. You can in TFP mechanics make frames as a pillar and just upgrade the top connection block to steel, and the frame pillar will give that steel block 100% stability that goes out 13 frames from it. The Frame shapes being weak would make it easy to destroy. Thus why people always say upgrade the pillars first - so that no matter where you connect or what damage they take - the pillar will hopefully remain intact and secure a bedrock connection. For redundancy and base building best practice you want connections to bedrock every 8 blocks especially when you make it structured rooms, so that placing something with weight (like farm blocks) doesn't kill the stability.
I have a curious thought that might help light up your helipad better - It means taking out some steel blocks - big X is center of pad, x is your support pillars (i think from what I could tell), " is your north/south path, then the o is the spotlights with a security grate on top that would give the spot light a little. To change spot light angles, once powered, interact and click camera preview - then you can point them where ever you want. o==="===o =x=="==x= ===="==== ====X==== ===="==== =x=="==x= o==="===o

FYI, I noticed you were still in God mode the last half of the video. Might want to make sure you exit that before you start doing raids. Keep up the good work.
Keep up all the building an we gonna call you the Bearded Beaver!🧔♀🦫😁 But it's surprising how much fun it is watching you almost fall off the I MEAN building the pillar and all. Some guy came by yesterday asking me to donate to the local community pool so I gave him a glass of water.

Yes. I have come to the conclusion that there isn’t much point in having a horde base on the Purge.
@@TheBeardedOG NONE WHATSOEVER!
You get more structure stability if you dig down to rock because it’s stronger and attached to the bedrock
Never heard that before. I'll have to test this out.
@@TheBeardedOGI saw it on a video a long time ago in vanilla a20 I think. Also harder for zeds to dig under it.

Not needed. It's lit up fine with the current setup. You'll see in episode 48
@@TheBeardedOG Yeah I was commenting as watching. As some thoughts to go along with yours.
why not use the ladder instead of block to go up and down ? maybe add corner support from the ground to the garden.
Ladder will come later. Corner supports are too much IMHO.

I logged out of the game entirely after this so no GM next time I recorded.
is your alarm system broken or turned off??
Gennie ran out of fuel.

LOL! Did he drink the water or take it back to the pool?
