Are you soldering the bead chain to the wire before pulling. Do you solder the two wires from the inside wire to the cloth covered wire, or just twist and cover with wire nuts.
]No soldering the beaded chain... I just tightly wrapped the individual wires to the beaded chain. to connect the wires on the bottom I used wire nuts.
You are entitled to your opinions, however the processes in this video are perfectly acceptable, and are followed by the major players in the world of tiffany. The patina wasn't harmed (as was demonstrated)... Dirt/body oil/niccotine do not add value to antiques, and I prefer to not burn my house down with old wiring. Letting these bronzes continue on covered in dirt and grime was never how they were intended to be appreciated. Feel free to do some educated research as I have and come to your own conclusions.

I could be wrong but I think you took a lot of value off the lamp . By washing it and adding the shoe shine
