In HYPNOSIS, It is the song that showcases all members vocalization.. How good it is? We really hypnotized as we listened. 😅 we forgot that YUJIN / LIZ = excellent vocals REI / GAEUL = dominating raps WONY / LEESEO = amazing support/2nd voices
The high trilling instrument in Blue Blood is likely a p’iri, a traditional Korean instrument, double reed, like an Oboe. (It may also be a sample of one). Whoever is making musical choices for IVE is gleaning from a real depth and breadth of world music making it attention grabbing and throughly enchanting. And the arrangements make lovely use of the girls vocal strengths. This is IVE’s first full length album and I think the idea was to grab you and not let go. They drop Lips or Mine on you, and just when you get in a comfy K-pop groove… Hypnosis. There is simply no filler here. Any one song could fly on its own, but collectively, it slays. My favorite tune; Shine With Me. Call me sentimental.
Blue Blood was one of my favorite song with I AM, Heroine and Shine With Me. As a north african, the instrument after the chorus is indeed oriental. It's really something you will hear a lot in north african/arabic music.
