  • If you create a name for a cell or range of cells you can apply the names to existing formulas using Apply Names dialogue box. When new names are created Excel does not scan your formulas and replace cell references with the new names. You need to use the Apply Names to replace the cell references.

Hello, thank you for this tip. However, this command only seems to work if the name is defined to a cell in the same sheet we want to apply it to formulas. In other words, if in Sheet1 I have the cell A1 named "xyz", and in Sheet2 I have a formula that makes reference to that, say =Sheet1!A1, I can't use this feature to replace the formula to =xyz.
Is that correct? If it is, do you see a solution for this apart from changing manually? The only solution I see is to use Find and Replace command, do you have any other idea?
