Hello I will explain you from the start. Now the question asks to find the ratio of the energy absorbed by ionization energy (Eabs/IE), so we use the formula "KE= Eabs -IE". We know that ionization energy means the energy which is required to take the electron from the ground state (n=1) to n=infinite. So we know that the definition of ionization energy is negative of energy of electron at ground state So use the formula of energy of electron (E= -2.28x10^-¹⁸Z^2/n^2). So ionization energy is 2.28x10^-¹⁸. here we need to find kinetic energy and what is given is wavelength , so we need to use such a formula such that it relates wavelength and kinetic energy which is (Lamda=h/√2mKE) and solve the rest.
