  • Installing our Wholesale Solar Unbound Solar Panel System. DIY Solar Panel Set-Up
    #GoingOffGrid is hard work, but it will be so worth it! We could not do this without the help of our family and friends! Since May we have been working on this abandoned cabin and turning it into our full-time home! We are moving into our #oneroomcabin ! We still have a lot of renovations to do but it is almost complete! #cabinrenovation #movingoffgrid #offgridhomes #livingoffgrid #cabintour #cabinhomes #offgridsolar #goingoffgrid

    Growing up together as high school sweethearts, we got married at 19 in August of 2016. We have always dreamed of a life of adventure! We started traveling the US any free weekend we had, finding free campgrounds wherever we could, and even converting our truckbed into a home for three weeks to make the trip across the country. After 4 years of college and 2 corporate jobs, we decided this typical lifestyle is not for us. Because of RONA, our jobs let us work remotely full time and so we decided to take the leap. We started this #goingoffgridvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but hope to share helpful tips along the way! We have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to be able to jump into this lifestyle. :)

    Have you thought about putting rocket pebbles for your driveway or something of the sort to help with the mud?

      Yea back in my grandmas country in the Caribbeans, the road is a bright red clay and since it’s tropical we get hard rains every day for like and hour and then in the winter months in rains most of the time. The roads where almost impossible to drive on because the clay turned into almost quicksand, but they had a truck come and dumpy gravel along the road and they brushed it out nicely and now there’s no trouble driving up or down the mountain she lives on.

      Yes we definitely need to! It’s become a top priority in these winter months. Hopefully next week.

    Oh happy happy joy joy ! Solar 🌞 !! I went a little nuts when our solar finally worked. It is a major achievement. We’re not off grid but so happy. with it. In the desert there is little rain so we have approximately 350 days of sunshine. Our system was a few thousand more without the battery. Guess it’s time now for you to pack it and pack it in and live your off grid life in your cabin. So excited for you. I’m rooting for ya.!

    Yay! That is so awesome. Good luck with the move. For that muddy area at the bottom of the drive you may want to look into installing a tile drain. Even if you dump a ton of gravel on it, it’ll still be mushy. Given what you’ve done to get water to the cabin, you already have the skills to install a tile drain. It’s basically perforated tubing in a trench.

    Wow. $17,000.00??? I'm doing a 2500 watt system with 345 amp hour battery bank for starters. I have a total of less than $1500 in it. It was simple and easy to install. Start simple and learn lol.

    Love your vid... it answered a lot of questions for me... I'm thinking of putting in a similar system... Re: your road, I was wondering if putting in a "corduroy road" as in you lay like 6-8" logs "across the road" and they will sort of sink into the mud like half way and then you can drive on it.(slowly).. just a thought.. you might need to tweak the idea but it might help you solve your no sun problem!

    By the way... I think you guys had a little editing mistake with the audio. At the start of almost every clip with audio there is a pretty loud click noise. I’d say it’s maybe a key frame copy paste issue? Not sure exactly seems strange. Nope you can find the source of the clicking!

    Why do you have that angle at solar panels? In winter it must be 20 ° on the vertical . Or where do you live to set it like this? Make it adjustable for better performance.

    • @alliejcurtin
      @alliejcurtin  3 роки тому

      Yes it’s adjustable! We have 4 brackets to put in for winter months. Just wanted to get everything plugged in and running on this last trip. :)

    Mit dem Dimmer + PV wird sich die Autarkie jetzt im Sommer auf annährend 95% erhöhen, was ein riesen großen Durchbruch bedeutet. Voraussetzung ist das man min. ein kleines Balkonkraftwerk hat, teuren Akku braucht man auch nicht. Beispiel Wasserkocher: Ohne Dimmer braucht der 2500W - 600W PV-Anlage = 1900W welche man teurer bezahlen muss. wenn ich den Wasserkocher per Dimmer auf 600W herunter geregelt, dann schafft das neuerdings jede schwache PV-Anlage selber, jeden Verbraucher selbst und autark zu versorgen, denn der 2500W Wasserkocher wird zu einem 600W Wasserkocher, dank Dimmer. Magic... Der 2000W E-Heizer wird per Dimmer zu einem 500W E-Heizer, der 12 Stunden am Tag kostenlos über PV bei mir laufen darf. ua-cam.com/video/8vnAkrS1x-s/v-deo.html . Der 4000W Backofen wird auch gezähmt. Nicht die Solar Anlagen müssen wachsen, sondern die Verbraucher müssen einfach nur um 75% sinken, was mit dem Dimmer sooo einfach ist. Bist du jetzt überzeugt? Ich habe bereits meinen kompletten Haushalt auf Dimmer umgestellt. Schau dazu ruhig mal auf meinen Kanal vorbei.
