      Oh man, nothing efficient about it ... ergonomic, maybe.
      The concrete panel buildings usually don't last that well (although they are massively cheap for the country to fix... cause it is concrete panels :D).

    • @TheGraika
      @TheGraika 10 років тому +13

      Same in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and all Soviet republics. The newer schools has the same layout. Btw, Quicky, you should come to Lithuania. If you like war things like bunkers, bases and rocket launch sites then you should come to Plateliai rocket base, also you could go to Salantai. There is a tank, I think a T-34. And you could go to the Raseiniai city :)

    38:00 "Belarus is famous for construction vehicles". Yes it is indeed: BelAZ is one of the biggest manufacturers of earthmoving and haulage equipment in the world. The one in the photo seems to be a BelAZ-7547 mining dump truck, but it could be just an artistic representation.

    Very respectful and moving in places. I recommend the film "Come and See" to all who want some context to the memorials and the immense suffering that Russians endured in WW2 (Come and See is a HARD watch but a tremendous film).. Great to see the pretty side of Belarus and the building work. Thanks for this modern view.

    Thanks for sharing your trip, QB. Must be amazing to get a chance to stand beside, climb on, look in, etc. so many of the machines we enjoy in WoT. Wanted to say that your recent after-action vids have been fantastic, as you're able to give so much insight into stats / tactics / decision-making that's difficult to provide (at least in as much detail) during the live streams. Keep up the good work!

    And OHHHH THE WINGED HUSSAR ARMOR!!!! God, BEAUTIFUL. I'm very into medieval history and the time around U.S. Rev War and Napoleon, which means i know a lot about the Winged Hussars, so it's awesome seeing the real armor set! When you grow up with a dad who was a Historian for 21-22 years, you grow up in learning history. So i know all about the Civil War, Rev. War, Napoleonic Wars, War of 1812, history during 1000-1600, Roman history, Ancient Greek history, i know a lot of WW2 especially American planes and WW2 planes in general, more then i know tanks, just because my father was a historian for the U.S. Air Force, so i've always been around planes. I even been inside real B-17's B-52's C-120's etc.

      A lot of the bad rep is because of the communists, who had some hang ups about certain things.....
      Once the Soviet Union fell, most eastern european countries suddenly became much nicer places (after some chaos due to the fall of the eastern bloc).

      @@doubleutubefan5 when you live in lithuania for a longer time (let's say from the born or for 14 years) everything becomes bored. It's rich country by culture, history, and women and actually science ( for etc. our medicine school programs are strong in europe's contrast ... but I got say that I want to see something new what is in other countries.

    Ah Quicky you had Zlatý Bažant :) Good you tried something from my country but I would like you to taste soemthing better than that maybe some other brand like Šariš, Kelt(Yeah the name comes from the word Celt) or any other. Bažant is not that good in my opinion :)

    Did I just watch someone's entire holiday video? Just kidding, great video and a good insight into a country that doesn't have a big tourist market. Also, "New Millenium Cyanide Christ" on the snow shot, what a lol that gave me.

    37:15 It's a polish hussar armor. About the wings... Hussars were using them during parades only, because feathers were creating drag so strong that it was impossible to charge with wings strapped to armor.

    Dictatorship in Belarus is a little more extreme than Russia but it's not that different I guess. I think Belarus is doing well but a lot of people are trying to move forward!

    I really have to guess when you say it's 12 degrees, that you are talking Celsius. Because 12 degrees Fahrenheit would be freezing. Where 12' C is roughly 53' F. So i'm gonna go on a whim and say you we talking C not F. I guess in the U.K. you guys use C right? In America we use F. And i'm sure Europeans (Belarus) speaks C as well.

      only USA use Fahrenheit, so it gives you an idea...

      Guillaume Lemaigre Fahrenheit isn't a terrible scale for measuring temperature in daily life. Celsius is just useful because it's more compatible with Kelvin.
