    Kamon, using your instruction I just completed my first grafting/cell builder/mating nucs etc. and from 30 initial grafts successfully produced 15 mated queens. Thanks so much for what you do!

    My June split was looking really weak / so I took a look at the other strong hive and found that they were making a capped Queen cell / so I took that frame and put it into the weak hive and now (4 days later ) I now see tons of foragers working from the weak hive. Love your videos

    I am a hobby beekeeper in the UK and despite different climate and slightly different equipment too I really love watching your videos, and I learn great little tips and tricks all the time. I have been watching your videos on Varroa treatment and you mention doing a comparison video on all the different types of treatment but I haven't been able to find it, so is it something you will be doing this fall? So far I have been using MAQS strips but they can sometimes be a bit hard on particularly the open brood, so I am halfway counting on your video before I decide on what treatment to use for getting my bees in perfect shape before the winter. Thanks for all your great videos 😃

    How often do you inspect each hive? And did your Spring flow end up better than you thought originally?

    ? My fall crop is much sought after. I'm urban but there are grapes and pears in the yard. In dearth times the bees will take grape and pear juice from falling fruit. The combination of that plus the goldenrod really has people going Yum Yum. I know fruit juice isn't honey but my customers don't care.

    Did I see correctly that your super has only 9 frames? Also can you talk about any plants that you know of for your area that provides nectar during dearth

    Are you going to have Nuc's to sell this year coming and will you ship to Harleyville S.C. just asking ? Like your videos, been learning a lot, thanks Kamon and your sweet wife she is so good with the camera !

    I keep my hives in double deeps. This year I harvested but left uncapped frames above the excluder. Some of these big strong hives are pretty dry below and seem to be saving the honey in the medium. Should I remove the super and start feeding? Some of my hives are better at getting or conserving nectar than others.

    How I inspect bees in hot weather: quickly. LOL
    The girls are hanging outside the hive because it's 115F here today, and they're a little pissy about things. Better for them and for me if I go in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible.

    Kamon, if you had a hive busting at the seams here in August and you live up North. You don't want them to swarm and it's to late to split could you take a couple of frames of brood and nurse bees and give it to a small nuc? Would they possibly kill the nuc's queen - if so would you do a newspaper combine?

    • @kamonreynolds
      @kamonreynolds  4 роки тому

      I'd shake the nurse bees at the entrance and place one frame of emerging brood in the nuc without bees. Let the nurse bees walk in. 1 good frame of emerging brood will cover 2-3 frames once emerged

      @@kamonreynolds Thanks Kamon. The nuc and the big hive are 4 miles apart so any foragers that I move will have to find a home and beg in also.

      1 gallon. I recommend 2 gal though. Motherlode makes the best 2 gallons feeders so I hear.
