Dude… that foul ball by Raleigh off Kimbrel… holy mother!! I take it as a sign, the baseball Gods favor us right now and as long as we play the game the right way we are going to continue winning baseball games.
All these umpire calls that don’t go our way, so much so that an umpire that only missed a few calls tonight, 10 or less, was revered as a great performance by the umpire for Orioles fans. Whereas two missed calls for Yankee fans will be in the next days headlines if they lose that game. Even if they lose by 7 runs. I’ll say this though, when these calls are made in October we aren’t going to have to win despite these calls like we have this season. And it’s pitching and offense, don’t get the pitch on the corner for the pitcher and have it called a strike against our guys 3-6 inches off the plate/out of the zone. But our guys don’t say a word. Only a few times when it was late in the game in a close game that we are usually trailing in so it matters more. Our pitchers never say anything, nothing beyond a facial expression. True professionals and today we were rewarded with a 5mph breeze that pushed that fly ball 6 inches foul.
