I have thalassemia, which impairs energy production and has been getting worse as I age. So anything that can help me stay consistent is worth it's weight in gold.

After seeing this video I ordered this pre workout. I have been taking it for six days now before my workouts. I can absolutely with 100% complete honesty attest that everything Layne states in this video about his pre workout formula is accurate. This pre workout formula is nothing like any other I have tried and I tried about 9 others. The energy you feel from it is very different. The only way I can describe it is mellow energy NO over the top jacked up wired feeling BUT massive great energy. It also does give you that "good feeling" that he talks about. Its kind of hard to describe how great this product is. I am not affiliated in any way with Layne and I am not being paid for this endorsement, just wanted to point out that this is a real endorsement. I felt the need to tell it like it is because there are a lot of snake oil salesmen in the supplement industry just like all other industries. I assure you Layne is not one of them. Try this product you will not be disappointed, you can thank me later.

    Hi Dr Norton,
Really love your channel and i have been a follower of your teachings and theories for over a decade. I have question about one specific ingredient which is the L-DOPA that you added in your pre-workout. Do you think that it is safe to use L-DOPA regularly especially if you are someone like myself that takes pre-workout 4 to 6 times weekly. I have done extensive research on it and found that it has major side effects if taken regularly. As you may already know L-DOPA is used for Parkinson's and has also been reported to cause psychological effects if taken for a long period even at small dosages of 100-150mg. Can you elaborate on this matter and specifically what your thoughts are on L-DOPA.

I appreciate any dosage of l-theanine if it’s equivalently dosed with caffeine because I find it does reduce the negative aspects of caffeine… but I honestly love the crash from caffeine alone. Hey, maybe a late comment but I have an important question about caffeine. I am taking my pre workout 2 times a week. You said that you have 300 mg of caffeine in it and that you should have 300-400 mg. I am 17 years old and I only have 200 mg caffeine pills. Should I take 2 of them or can I split one pill into 2 so I can take one and a half?
    Would appreciate an answer!
If that matters, my pre workout includes:
    L-Citrulline 5g
    L-Theanine 300 mg
    L-Tyrosine 3g
    (Koffein 200 mg)

Good video but i disagree with the Beta Alanine part. All of the studies ive read say it doesnt have any imidiate effect on performance, you have to take it over time and saturate your muscles, same as creatine. Even when you do that it only gives small benefits to HIT style workouts or sets lasting longer than 60 seconds. But hey, everyone can decide for themself if its worth the extra price and the itchy feeling.

I formulate my own pre-workout so I can manipulate what's in it. From my experience, a shitty one, yes it does lose effectiveness overtime. I went for as up to 600mg and it didn't feel like I had anything. Decreased it to 400 for a week, then 200 for another week, then went free for 4 days. Then shot back for 300, felt like the first time I ever drank coffee. My humble advice is to stay caffeine free during your rest days, or take off caffeine 4 days every 2 weeks. You can try and add L-Theanine to your caffeine if you feel like it does nothing to you. But don't go Rich Piana mode like I did. Especially when you're 5'7" and 150 lbs.

No they aren't. If you just want your water to change color and taste good then proprietary blends are fine. If you actually want an effective pre-workout you need to know what you're taking because many proprietary blends are dosed so low they're completely useless.

Why is it banned? I never really looked into it, only that people who were abusing it ie. taking it and doing intense cardio were having heart issues. I used it for a few months a few years back and honestly loved it lol.

@@zacharyhorne4884 according to the fda it narrows your blood vessels and arteries which may cause cardiovascular problems such as shortness of breath, arrhythmias, tightening in the chest, and heart attack, as well as seizures. And it also can cause other neurological and psychological problems.

@@zacharyhorne4884 actually I just looked bit more into it and it seems that some PhDs in the field and a some studies claim that for low dosages it's still effective (but obviously less) and is unlikely to cause problems. So idk maybe it's not that bad if you're not abusing it.
That being said the study I saw was funded by a company that sells dmaa... And I still thinks that if the fda decided to ban it there's a good reason for it but I don't actually know much about it.

@@tomerwolberg37 That's always been my philosophy behind it but I won't sit here and pretend to be a professional when discussing the product, because I'm certainly not. I'm just a guy who has an average understanding of health supplements and loves pre-workout. I understand that while taking stimulants you should probably avoid high heart rate cardio sessions. That being said, when I took pre-workout that had (what I believe to be around 40mg) DMAA in it, it was truly the more satisfying product. I have never felt as good during my lifting sessions as I have with that pre-workout (Mesomorph) and have been searching to find a product to give me those "feels" again. The closest I could get to it currently is Amped AF from Steel Supplements and even then that product doesn't come close to the indescribable experience I had with DMAA lol. Currently taking Gorilla Mode from Gorilla Mind and it is a very handsomely dosed product. I plan on trying Lane's formula once my Gorilla Mode is finished up as while his dosing isn't what Gorilla Mode is, it does have a interesting composition, specifically the L-DOPA and Rhodiola.

So I'm a bit confused here. You said you didn't want to put creatine in the pre because it doesn't have an immediate effect, which I 100% get and personally I prefer that as well, but you then put Beta-Alanine in the pre, which doesn't grant an immediate performance boost because, like Creatine, it has to be built up in your body to a saturation of 179 grams, typically over a period of one month, before a lot of the effects and benefits you mentioned in the video even come into play. I guess I'm just confused why you would add one but not the other, especially when Beta-Alanine has the annoying side effect of jitters and itching which can be quite distracting during a workout.

If all advertisements were this straightforward, I would actually enjoy commercials. You're presenting you're product and telling us exactly why you made it... of course I'm open to trying it out. It's the people who try and hide stuff and distract me with random promises as if I'm supposed to believe you just because you're a big company or have pretty packaging.. Ok I'm done ranting lol
