We fence our bean plots, but it is a pricey investment. We have always broadcasted our beans and shoot for a 200,000 population. Beans are extremely adaptable you can plant anywhere from 70,000 population up to 300,000 and see no real change in yield. We also farm several thousand acres and have big equipment, But It's just easier to broadcast the beans back in those small plots for us and they have always looked amazing!
Matthew Kubik, I have broadcasted beans for a couple of years now and yes it does work, but I have found that I use a lot of seed and sometimes we don’t get the best germination and the plots are a little to thin, other times they are way to thick. We have my grandpas old 2 row corn planter and we will probably be using it more in the future instead of broadcasting because it’s more efficient and we go through less seed that way. But I will continue to broadcast late planted soybeans with my Brassicas. We
@@wisconsinwhitetail9744 yeah I understand where you coming from. We always have extra seed after planting our production ag fields so it's no big deal to throw a little extra on for us. Our plots have always had extremely good germination but we always inoculate our beans and cultipack them. The plus side to broadcasted beans is that it takes the deer longer to consume them because they can't walk down the rows and nip them off. Once they are waist high the deer dont even like to go in our beans because they are so thick so they eat them from the outside in. Really appreciate you posting you videos its Awesome to see relatable stuff. Thanks again and good luck this fall!
Very interesting. I can't wait to see how everything turned out and to see some more concerning x-plode. This is the first I have heard of it. Your videos are always interesting. I hope you get a lot of subscribers.
It is old, it was my grandpas planter that he used for many years on the farm, now we use it to plant our food plots. I am not sure what type/ style. It’s basically the most simple and cheapest style of 2 row planter you can buy and works great with the atv. We bought one to plant our backyard food plots for $400.
I can't find anything less than 1500 bucks that's in good shape, but around here ppl want a grand just for a rusted out piece of Crap that ain't worth 50 bucks
Glad your keeping dad busy keeps him from getting into Trouble. we just keep getting rain
This whole week we are supposed to get rain also. Glad we got everything planted.
