I said “no kill we all grind?” in my last match and no one killed eachother. We all just got loot and did our thing. It was a rare peace
I considered asking the same but didn't think that it would happen since there were tons of level 10s so didn't bother

Gaijin started using April fools events to test out gameplay mechanics as far back as 2016, there is no incentive for them to "make them fun" When they can just push in half baked mechanics to get feedback.

@@1999Almaz Sand effects while driving, sand storms, possibly map design and more destructible elements on wheeled vehicles.
Such as the wheels completely falling off when shot.

I love how people extact camp like its tarkov, and the people who somehow already have max upgraded vehicles just obliterate everyone else

Don’t worry they fixed it by adding a 3 ft area around the exit where the other team can’t be! I’m sure that solved all the problems.
This fucking event took years of my life, but to some proper critisism, april fools events are supposed to be fun and not this fucking grind, you need to get resources which bave like 5% to drop and you need to drive for 5 minutes just to get killed by some dumb ass that by the stroke of luck ONE TAPS YOU AND KILLS YOU
Or just camps the extraction point cuz gaijing thought it was a good idea for both teams tp have the same extraction point... cuz people are definately NOT GONNA ABUSE IT RIGHT
I was having ptsd for sand and trucks after one night of grind, which is essentially shooting and crashing into boxes then driving away...
@@Alex-noDrive fr, I unlocked the Strong Boar then camp at exit point to overpressure ppl with that heat launcher with 433 pen and 2kg explosive , but thats it...
The mode would be that much more better if both teams had permanent extraction zones.
And maybe add a way to gain ammo

The event was fun for the first couple hours, but once people started figuring out the 'meta' vehicles and strats, it got really unfun really quickly. Nothing but Echidna and Strong Boar spam, and extract camping... which is possibly the most unfun and selfish way to play I've ever seen in Warthunder. "iT's ThE oNlY wAy To GeT rEsOuRcEs" Except for, you know, the way that the people whose game you're ruining are getting them, which if they thought the same way you did you'd never actually get any because you'd both be sitting by extracts waiting for the other team who's also sitting by a different extract. Yeah, real great mindset there.
Gaijin, of course, should have seen it coming and put a few measures in to prevent it (getting marked when you're close to extracts, giving each team *two* extracts before the final minute, etc.). They know their playerbase. They should have known the tryhard sweats would suck all the fun out of the game for everyone, including themselves, if they didn't put some countermeasures in. I can only imagine how cancerous it's going to get once people start unlocking the vehicle upgrades with rockets. Thank god there aren't any rewards I actually care about, so I don't really need to care if I play it or not. Still would have been fun to play if the fun wasn't immediately sucked out of it by the playerbase mentally shoehorning themselves into playing the least fun way possible and Gaijin doing nothing to counteract it.
Bruh, 5 minutes ago, after hoarding for 5 minutes, truck is full, got killed in 1 shot after a ROCKET hit me.
Yesterday was funish, but not anymore.
And the SPA guns sucks, you can't even shoot forward on some vehicles.
Terrible grind, and you die way to easely.

The rocket vehicles make me scream. Reptiles are strong enough they don't need goddamn hydra rockets on em too

That's the main issue. An event shouldnt be this grindy if the rewards are this kind of stuff.
If the grind was much less it'd be an alright event but no one wants to grind for an eternity to upgrade an event vehicle that you'll never see again after the event.

@@zwang7050 it would have been cool if they added melee only trucks with way more amour and bigger engines that you can distory enemies with by ramming (the same way you can with buildings), and then just speed on to get the next guy. Huge missed opotunity
April fools events were supposedly something special once a year where the gameplay is very unique.
You can achieve the "milk truck war" at costume battle (you can invite 3 of your friends and I'm sure it'll be a lot more goofy than the current event)

Considering how often and common people get camped by campers who wait for people at the extract points, I think Malzi understands the pain that many of us do with this event. The rattyness of this eventt and toxic level behavior that the game mode encourages is why I only did this mode three times and then stopped. The fact people will camp extraction points so they don't have to farm the event itself is borderline scumbaggery and shit.

Visuals and sounds for the event are awesome, mechanics and grind are terrible. Definitely the weakness WT April Fools event (so far 💀)
You know, kinda wish Warthunder had a “event only” server option, where the only vehicles in play are vehicles from past events. Like the human mech suits, the future tanks from the “dune” event. The vehicles from the (I am guessing) Mad Max event.
The problem with this noone would then play normal WT modes. Cause some events are more fun than normal core game :D

It could work where events can let you obtain only cosmetics and customization (plus a sneaky way to trial new cosmetic changes for regular gameplay), while the normal gamemode is the usual TT and SL

You missed some good ones back in the day. Even the TailSpin one was okay-ish, but we didn't get to keep the Bear pilot icon. That sucked, too.

Easy way to grind,
Right side Team, Pick Middle spawn Boar, Rush as fast as possible for top left objective (Go above the top right objective thats the fastest way) Run through boxes in a straight line across towards top left of map. Even if you dont fill storage beeline up the hill behind the smoke stacks and book it to extract, 90% of the time you wont even see an enemy. Quit lobby and repeat.
Left side team exact opposite ofc. Middle spawn boar, Beeline to bottom right obj, climb hill and jump off into obj. Once your on the hill your basically set as the right side of the map has a hard time going south from the top spawn.
Yes, the answer is yes. It feels like a different game rather than an event.

Head dev: Great idea! Let's just change it up so that it's a prop hunt for scrap, and there's one extraction point for both teams, and an unmarked extraction point next to one of the spawns.

This event basicly covers a view existing tanks in stalinium, gives the crew borderline immortality and everyone gets Russian bias.
I can totally agree that this event sucks, it’s so rng based. But surprisingly this has been one of the only April fools events I actually have been grinding through, I don’t know why😂

Yeah i played it for a few hours for one day and got to the reptile and all the upgrades for the first three vehicles and the flame decorator.
Grind doesnt even feel as bad as ppl make it out to be. As for the guns and kills, you only get AP and the entire playerbase's brain seems to be "HOLD THE TRIGGER DOWN AAAAAAAAAAAAH WHY ISNT HE DEAD AAAAH" instead of just aiming for ammo and shooting once since everyone takes full ammo in this game mode as well.

My suggestion is to upgrade the Boar asap as it features 106 recoilless rifles at the end, which annihilates other people bc it fires heat
What i dislike about it is:
If the enemy has still one guy he doesn't die and the cannons you have can't hit the broadside of a barn so you shoot all your rounds to kill one crew member meaning the time to kill is way too high to be fun

In the past, I have played a handful of rounds of each event just to see what it is and if it is fun. This year, I never even worked out how to play it. I just saw that it was a like a crafting event and walked away.
The event theme had so much potential and they give us this. I played the other events because they were fun this is the complete opposite.
In fact I tv we should all demand this event be immediately removed and rep with an event that’s actually fun I don’t care if it’s an older one or not.
Im so sad... Gotta wait another year for maybe a good event. 😢

The worst part for me is this might be one of them Gaijin tests of figuring out how to nerf more spaas. My poor babies.
Also they could have made this event PvE type like imagine your team raiding a big heavily gunned and armored convoy and you get the scraps and rage points from defeating them and more scraps and rage points when you destroy tougher AI's OR your team is the Convoy, like you know, Mad Max type of mechanics but Gaijin is very allergic to stuff that gives us a breather from the stressful WT main modes. There's no Mad Max vibes in this event what so ever, more of Crossout or Twisted Metal but bad.

My favorite parts of WT are driving long distances and then getting sniped out of nowhere so this is the perfect event (although I think the game does need more large, sniping over hills type maps)
despite of not playing wt, i liked this event because i like mad max(the video game one). but i feel your pain, the event looks tedious.

It’s like the crafting events I mean I like the idea but the game play and objectives are very mundane and I grind enough on the US tree I don’t need more headache just for some silly event
My main problem is everyone on the opposite team took the biggest rigs they could get their hands on and just camped out at the exits. It's like someone asked them "How much of a POS could you be?" and instead of refuting it just proved everyone right in the worst way possible. Another win for Warthunder 2.0.
