@@miguel77077 there’s definitely technically better players and I’m a huge huge Mayer fan, but the dude could play circles around the avg player. Most jazz and fusion guys are better than the blues cats like Mayer tho. Check out Guthrie Govan that guy is fkn nuts.
@@masxn_t2276 idk maybe im biased bc John is the reason I started playing guitar ,but there’s something about him that’s really special ,he’s very versatile and he’s not just a guitar hero ,he’s a great song writer and composer ,his albums are a work of art ,all of his songs are good and I think that’s what makes him special and unique in my opinion
@@masxn_t2276 Guthrie is insane sure I love his playing but have to admit there is just something different about Mayer's rythm pocket and feel it is just insane
You reacting to this made my whole day!!! John Mayer is so underrated. Only really recognized for his mainstream, radio, pop type stuff, which I’m not a huge fan of. But this man SHREDS on the guitar, playing with some of the all time greats, but that doesn’t get the recognition. It sucks that once a “label” has been slapped on someone, people only see that. And… end rant!!! Thanks for making my day ❤️
John Mayer was the artist that inducted Stevie Ray Vaughan into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I saw an interview once where John was explaining just what a big influence SRV was to him. And I agree with you, Biz I can definitely see SRV in Mayer's style of playing. I would suggest this song off his album "Continuum" with "John Mayer - Waiting On The World To Change (Lyric Video) [HD] [HQ]" great reaction
There's a very early video of him with Eric Clapton performing "Crossroads" which is great. Also - "Edge of desire" live from his solo tour is amazing on the acoustic guitar.
I have known John Mayer to be a very good guitarist and musician for a long time, since his first couple albums. But honestly haven’t paid attention to him as much as I probably should have. I am down to check out the newer material if you put it up! 👍
check out John Mayer's covers of "All along the watchtower" live in L.A. and "Like a rolling stone" at Howard's birthday bash. He just shows how good of a guitarist he is.
Great musician. I'd love to see more of him on your channel. Check out stuff from his latest solo tour - the stuff with the double neck acoustic guitar is fire ! Thank you. As for albums - I actually like his first 4 the best.
Brotherman Biz, you play the most incredible music that others just don't. I can't believe you don't have 100K subscribers. All of us BizMatik fans haveta share your videos with friends and get that count up. It's a low-down, dirty, crying shame. You are appreciated by those who know you and enjoy your content and analysis. Keep bringing the heat, we love it.
A good Dead and Company to start with would be Brown Eyed Women from live With Jimmy Fallon. Three members from the Grateful Dead . The bass player from the Alman Brothers and of course John Mayer
Wow didn't know him great performance though I'm diggin'into music now for about 50 jears now and still there's an ocean and I'm cought with a shot glass Love 💕 your channel keep the good times roll
You got it man. Continuum is by and far his best album, that isnt live. If youlike Battle Studies you got to checkout continuum, it was the album he made before battle studies
I hope you know the original by Bill Withers 😊🔥; John Mayer certainly put his own spin on it; brought out the blues a bit more; he 😊did the song justice.
That’s the best rhythm section in the world behind him.
Mayer can hold his own against any blues guitar player alive today.
I think he’s the greatest guitarist alive today tbh ,but I mean that’s just an opinion

None are still alive..?
John Mayer is a level up. More John please.
His trio album is amazing but Covered in rain from any given Thursday has to be his best performance. Best guitar solo of our generation
He looks like he was born with that crying screaming guitar in his hands and never let go

Always good to hear John in whatever lineup. Saw him last May solo. Saw him with Dead and Company last July
John Mayer, Awesome 👍
His 'Where The Light Is: Live in LA' album is the best collection of his work

I really like John Mayer. Watched him (in a video) perform with Dead & Co. and he was great!
You should do Dead and Company
Michael Bolton does a cover of this song with an assist from Kenny G. that’s stellar
Very moving in that blues vibe. Bill Withers has company
I hope you know the original by Bill Withers 😊🔥; John Mayer certainly put his own spin on it; brought out the blues a bit more; he 😊did the song justice.
Stevie Ray Vahn is John's muse
Aaawee snap ❤😂❤😂❤😂 maaan please..hell with those chicks you know not feeling it ✌️
Try Bill Withers version best
Well that was different.
Hey Playa! Check out I can't write left handed by John legend and the Roots! U will NOT regret it
Not the original but GREAT cover!
NEAJ!
Never cared for his sound.
