  • Saying that the latest Yorgos Lanthimos film is weird and bizarre may be not saying much. BUT in my humble opinion, I think its his most ambiguous and abstract work he's crafted to date. The best part is that you don't have to come close to understanding any of it in order to have a blast with it.

It was so great. It is so awesome the way the film draws you into the plot with the minimalistic and subtle exposition and storytelling. Each of the three sections keep you guessing what could possibly happen next or top what has just been show. The way there was a unique lore or state of each world in the 3 sections reminded me alot of Killing of a Sacred Deer, in how there seemed to be a way that the world worked hidden in the subtext. How there was some sort of terms of exchange and trades as currency between people in TKOASD, and the supernatural elements that accompany this order.
Also did any1 feel this was Yorgos at his most Lynchian? The way information is fed to you and the dreamlike/artifical feeling of films reminded me alot of Mulholland Drive at some points.

5.8/10......Saw it today. When I saw the trailer I was excited because it seemed like Lanthimos was going back to his earlier works, like Dogtooth, which is his best. Didn't know this was an anthology which put me off and ended up leaving the theater feeling let down. Came to the conclusion on the drive home that I'm no longer a fan of his.

So you did a great job with the review!
I told some of the scenes with my dad what happens in this movie and he thought it sounded kind of creepy!
I saw this movie as well!
Going into this blindly having knowing nothing about this movie!
I was thinking of this idea for an episode where the main character’s dog gets stolen by two cult leaders who are naked and the cults supports a tree!
Also I wanna name the episode “the house of the cult”
You can guess what’s that’s a reference to!
Also after the main character kills the man cult leader the woman cult leader eats his heart and turns into a creepy angel to kill our main character!

It was for me lanthimos version of “French dispatch”. Where it’s lanthimos world and we’re all living in jt. It’s soooo great to see a director who’s gone a “little mainstream” and all of us a little worried he was gonna go more mainstream but NOOOO kinds of kindness just takes that and ruins it in best of ways. Now even tho I love poor things…. The story is pretty straight forward (coming of age/ Frankenstein). But kinds of kindness …. OHHHHH MY GOD I LOVED THIS SO MUCH MORE. It’s a lanthimos cornucopia of his themes of control like dogtooth, sex and love like in lobster and poor things, themes of supernatural (sacred deer) . This is twilight zone lanthimos version and I was in it for long haul. Here’s the litmus test. If u hated beau is afraid … stay away

Yogurt is one of my favorite directors. I love abstract, surreal and challenging. I started watching you because of Dogtooth. Love your reviews.
