My favorite ornaments are the vintage stenciled ones with different sayings and themes. I also love the indent ornaments. I'm fortunate to have some of my parent's ornaments from the 1950's. My Dad brought home an aluminum tree and color wheel in 1964. I didn't like that you couldn't put lights on it. In the mid 1970's, he got drunk one night and fell into it! That ended that! Now I appreciate the glittery look of those aluminum trees! I bought a 6 foot pompom tree from a thrift shop in the mid 1990's for $5! Then I found the same model of color wheel I grew up with. I love collecting vintage christmas lights and kitschy decor because it has a lot of style and whimsy, and most of it was made here in the USA! Thank you for posting this beautiful video!
I love these old shiny Brite ornaments! My parents had these back in the 50's and 60's ,we used them every year since then. They bring back so many memories! One of my sister's kept the ornaments and silver Christmas tree and puts it up on display every year in their remembrance, along with the rotating wheel of colors !
Many Shiny Brite ornaments that were inherited, rescued, or bought secondhand adorn the lit garland encircling our living and dining rooms. The newest have seen 60 Christmas seasons and still live up to their names; while a handful of small ones still shine brightly after 80 Holidays.
It's nice to imagine the families who bought and cherished them enough to somehow get them to us. The joy of so many past Yuletides represented by each one adds to the joy of our own.
My mom had some WWII ornaments that belonged to my grandmother which had little cardboard tabs instead of metal hangers! They almost looked like little Barbie clothes hangers because you insert the tabs inside and put the hooks through a tiny hole on top!
Nice job on the vid BrokeGuyz! Shiny Brite . . . such wonderful memories. Gosh I loved those ornaments.
@@twobrokeguyz1214 Really enjoying your channel. I know you know, but watching your vids lifts the spirits and that is a beautiful gift you are giving us all. Thanks! Stay Strong, Be Well, Keep Safe!
Another fabulous TwoBrokeGuyz production! You know I love everything you give us. And what a wonderful gift I woke up to this morning! Thank you & have the merriest Christmas ever 💜💜
Always loved going to Woolworths to look at their Christmas stuff! One of my favorite things to do at Christmas! Love Shiny Brite Ornaments! I have some and have found a few over the years. The Indents are My Absolute Favorites! Ty for this video! It was Great!
We buy every year a 11' plus Nova Scotia Balsam Christmas tree.
We have 250 to 300+ C7 light on it and like 300 plus ornaments 70% are from my youth in the late 40's/1950's. I still have about 50 glass Shiney Bright pre WW2 German and post war American made mostly Shiney Bright and some other mfgs from back to the about 1910 era my family has always had through the years. I had to encase the most valuable in two clear soft plastic hemispheres to stop the annual breakages. There NOTHING like original glass ornaments. And the post war Shiney Bright's are soooo 50's cooool......memories of a bygone greater, saner era.....
Wow!!! You have some awesome ornaments!! Thanks for sharing your comment!
I have been collecting these ornaments for a few years now ... spent a pretty penny to get them .... but happy that I do ... these look so nice on my silver tree... ( new not vintage ) I have led clear lights and it’s just sparkles !!! These are so beautiful and worth the fun collecting.
That sounds beautiful!! Yes they really are so much fun to collect! :)
Thank you telling the history our Christmas tree ornaments!
Very informative and fast.
Would like to be able to view
each photo for a longer period of time. Please consider this for
your next video. ♥️🎅🎀♥️😃🎀🎅♥️
I agree! I tried to make the photos last longer but the program would not comply and kept fighting me! It was annoying. But I’m glad you enjoyed the video regardless! Thank you!
You TwoBrokeGuys never cease to amaze me.. Brings back memories of our house and grandmothers house with these ornaments .. First my grandmothers hair dryer and now these ornaments.. Awesome ! I remember these so well ..
Thank you, so glad enjoyed the video. It's awesome you have so many wonderful memories of your grandmother.
I have some of these beauties that belonged to my parents-most likely purchased at Woolworths. I was afraid to use them on my tree as they are so delicate and I have 5 kids. They are all grown up now so last year I finally hung them on my tree and didn't I go and break one myself! Another great video. Thank you. Merry Christmas TwoBroke Guyz
Amazing. I grew up in Germany an didn't have any idea about this. Imagine that
Perry Como? Love ❤️ it!
Perry had one of the kindest and friendliest voices in the industry. I was a fan at five years old. My mother wrangled a rare autographed glossy photo from him to give me one Christmas, and it's one of my fondest treasures.
James Robiscoe I never knew Magic Moments was a Burt Bacharach song till recently. Perry's good on that as well.
Love 💕 love 💗 great info as always always fun to watch..merry Christmas ❄️🤶🎁⛄️
Merry Christmas! Ha I just asked this morning for a new video. Now that is service on demand. I just bought 3 boxes of shiny brite yesterday. 1.00 a box at salvation army. I think I will put them on my reproduction aluminium Christmas tree. Keep your videos coming
I have a few and I wanted to find something that would bring back the shine to them without damaging them . I made the mistake that you could but water on anything vintage because the paint comes right off. So I tried some orange glow furniture polish and it worked great. So I thought I would let you know and Mr clean magic Eraser works good on felt and stuffed animals. Your display is beautiful.
Wow that is very helpful to know! Thank you very much, Lisa! Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving and a wonderful Holiday Season!
Lovely! Great memories!
I was just wondering today when you would be putting out a new video. Really interesting!! Hope you have a great holiday!!!🎄🎄🎄☃️☃️☃️❄️❄️❄️
I still shop at Woolworths. I hate that we lost this iconic American company but am glad it still lives on in Germany.
Beautiful ornaments.
💚❤️
Amazing my favorites 🤗
Love! I have a small, but hopefully growing collection of pink ones. :) I'm a girly girl. :)
That's awesome! I have to say that the pink ones are some of the prettier ones! I bet you have a very nice collection! :) Merry Christmas, Amy!

I'm doing well. :) It's so sweet that you noticed that I've been awol. :) I'm an essential worker and I've been really busy. We just hired another worker so hopefully things will calm down. I have a lot of videos to catch up on!
Thank you

Bought 2 boxes of Shiny Brite ornaments for our 1st Christmas tree in 1971. They still grace our tree today. Always will be special to us as we celebrate 50 years together next year!
