this isn't DND it's Baldur's gate, they're both turn based games but still this is a completely different game
@@aqquh Not really, BG3 is based HEAVILY on DnD, there's the same spells, creatures, stats, classes and stuff. The only few things that are different are things you'd consider as "Home Rules".
As a person who's been DMing DnD for 3 years and played BG3 for over 150 hours I can assure you, BG3 is basically DnD.

@Aqquh Yeah its pretty much is DnD. While its not entirely the same, due to bg3 being a video game and not a ttrpg, but the setting, Faerun, is an official DnD world (one my current campaign takes place in) on the sword coast. Most of the spells are from DnD, and there's a mod that adds in many 5e spells. Note the spells and bonuses were a lol confusing for me at first since I play 2e. But basically its DnD minus the versatility of an actual dm cuz it has a set story.
Yeah this is great. But one thing y’all might benefit from is making an effort to be quiet during cutscenes or other moments if important dialogue.

26:26 There's a setting at the bottom of the gameplay options, called "eavesdrop" if you guys turn that on then whenever one person initiates dialogue everyone will immediately be taken to the cutscene so nobody misses anything going forward

Some spoiler-free veteran tips for you lads in case you decide to continue this playthrough
-Hold ALT to highlight items around you.
-Right-click people and items to show interaction options.
-The reason why some of you couldn't talk to the party NPCs is because the NPCs are controlled by a different player. Example: Josh can talk to Shadowheart if he has control of her character, but no one else can talk to her. If you want a specific person to talk to you, the host has to give you control over said NPC in multiplayer settings.
-You can nudge items and props in the world by clicking and dragging. How far you can nudge the items depends on the item's weight and your character's strength stat. Nudging items is useful for clearing passages, uncovering entrances, blocking enemy pathing, and general tomfoolery.
-There are three kinds of actions your character can take in a turn: action, bonus action, and movement. There is also a special kind of action called a reaction that triggers from a specific condition (like Narrator's Hellish Rebuke).
-You can change your character's appearance at any time by going to the magic mirror in camp.
-You can completely rework your character's class by talking to Withers in your camp. He can also resurrect any party member for 200 gold (which you can pickpocket back from him with no risk).
-Hover over any item or character and press T to open up a small info sheet of it. This will tell you its damage resistances/vulnerabilities and also any abilities or conditions it has.
-You can set reactions to be automatic or manual at the top right of the bar with all the spells and abilities (there will be tiny icons for the reactions. Just click on those).
-You can throw health potions. Trust me, it's a lifesaver. Thrown health potions have a radius on them, so you can heal multiple people by crowding them around and throwing the potion in the middle.
