to see a modern race car ripping around one of the classic banked speedways form the dawn of motor racing is just... amazing! flying over the dips and bumps, trees growing onto the track, no wall to keep you from hurtling out of the track; that was just plain awesome.
Without the sponsorship, the car in the video, and indeed the video itself would not be possible. RedBull obviously need to get their brand into the video, but it's not like it's a RedBull Infomercial - it was still an awesome video, with a bit of advertising in it.
Nice movie with atmosphere of ancient racing. Great to see this track still standing (and I'm not oval circuit enthusiast). El Matador makes this movie even better :-) BTW - Who the f... is Ken Block?
World Wide Technology Raceway in St. Louis, Illinois is a 1.25mi oval that hosts NASCAR National Series and INDYCAR races. Turns 1 and 2 are banked at 11 degrees, while turns 3 and 4 are banked at just 9 degrees. The track record in a NASCAR stock car is 139.069 MPH, recorded by Sheldon Creed at an ARCA Menard’s race. _The track record at Autodromo de Terramar is just 104.958 MPH._ That begs the question- just how much faster would someone be on a brand-new, race-prepared track surface?
Its a nice piece of film, and it's great to see that the circuit is preserved so far. I think it a considerable disrespect to Zborowski Miller and his efforts and the risks he took, for Red Bull to turn up with a modern racing car, fully supported, and publish their glee that they are faster, just for marketing. Shame on them.
Nascar should look into helping repave some of these classic European oval speedways and run a few races on them. It would do a lot to bring European interest to the sport.
Great! Hardly any onboard views which show the banked parts from the driver's view and a flat and noisy soundtrack which nearly completely drowns this wonderful engine noise. Much energy went into this event and an absolute bonehead got to film and edit this. I hope this person occasionally wakes up in sweat and asks himself: "What have I done?!" Sorry! End of rant.
+NiiveekMTB Pero no dejan entrar no?
+NiiveekMTB hey man! you say you know the place well. Ive been there this noon but unfortunately couldn't get into with my ride. you know the owner, dont you? could you tell me please either who he is or where he lives so as to ask him for permission to get inside? thx man
Ken Block is a cheater, see his stats at WRC...Carlos Sainz is a true WRC Bi-Champ and Paris Dakar Champ actually. Gymkhana is a cheat Hollywood movie. Wake up.

seriously, a good mix between old vs. new
great job... that ending with the shifts made me melt
Wow, that old track looks dangerous.
Love the motor sound btw. :D
If you don't respect track limits, they don't respect you back.
This is a dream come true. I have studied many pictures and books about this place. What a circuit!!!

This is the first Red Bull video, that is not in English, I have watched from beginning to end

We'll wait for you at the old Monza Circuit...
it was so dangerous! this pilot is crazy.
Audi R8 + Red Bull = Total Win
At least I can afford a Red Bull, iced. Audi R8 ? In my dreams.
Beautiful sound.
Fantastic video. So full of history and racing heritage. Would be great if some investors would find it interesting to fix that track.
Yes it did. Most sports cars are equipped with air jacks. The pit crew jumps in and attaches an airline and the car gets jacked up.
Keep in mind that the track surface is in terrible shape, and there's no barriers.
OMG Awesome Video!!
Estupendo lugar.
it would be nuts to drive that circuit i would die of sheer happiness
man that's one hot ass ride! :O

Best wishes, Wilhelmina :)

The power of quattro! love it!
That car is rear wheel drive
Que hermosura!!
holy shit that r8 and the driver is awesome to the max.
Red Bull gives you wings! Well, it sure gave that Audi a massive wing.

que buen video!
Redbull.... coming to your nearest Nascar circuit.
This was more then just a Nascar circuit :D
The next Gran Turismo is going to be epic

Pelos de punta!
I think I love the R8 more than I love some members of my family .

Pressurized air goes into the car, and it uses “feet” to jack up the car, when the air doesnt go to the car, the feet retract
That's awesome...
Muito Bom, Muito Bom...
No, Ken Block drove in Montlhery circuit, in France, which is actually almost as old as this one.
R8 😍😍😍
Magique
I wish I could understand this more. But alas, I'm only in spanish 3A.
Good thing there's a Closed Captions button.
Maravilloso
real action @ 4:50
thumbs up so everyone can see it!! :)
Thankyou
Louis Zborowski was beyond brave but well done Carlos Sainz Sr.
what a safe track..
UNA PRUEBA EN CARROS DE OFF ROAD COMO LOS QUE CORREN AQUI EN LA PENINSULA DE BAJA CALIFORNIA... RED BULL TAMBIEN TIENE EQUIPOS EN ESTA CATEGORIA...
Carlos Sainz!
Just some oval from the 20s, when racing was focused on the atmosphere and not on money. Banking goes as high as 60º
thanks
They should re-do this record attempt with a car that is designed for these uneven surfaces. For example, Ken Block's Rally Car or similar
en español que buena ondaaaaa
Like to see him do it in a 1920's racing car.
daleee!!
Beautiful video, but does anyone know the name of the song between 4:14 - 4:44. Thank you very much! Cant find it :(
if i had the time i would love to learn it.
Oh yes, great...
sickkkk
Como está a situação do circuito em 2023?
The best part for me is 7:47
Did ken block do his gymkhana 3 there

Hit the CC button.
When I read your comment I thought ''this is coming from a fellow american for sure'' BUUHAHAHA
Dope
I want to live in a place like that, with an oval in my back yard
:D
The sound reminds me the Audi S1 sound, don't you?
Redbull!!!!!! it's a LMS not a LSM, Unless they made a new one and called it a LSM. Last one I tested around Oschersleben was a LMS.
If you look closely, there is an Audi R8 attached to that rear wing.
mhhhmmmm dat sound
Checked your page. You're in the same boat.
need an english version, or subtitles
i love audi R8 LMS
05:25 😲

They should really smooth that track out...I'm sure there are a few billionaire car lovers that would gladly put some money into it..
They need to fix the track and bring it back
this AUD IS FASTER THAN BUGATTI !!
Audi and Volkswagen own Bugatti. They are all working together
Another bucket list location added.
+nr1drillah that race track is near my house haha i'm lucky to be able to go there as much as i want :3
+NiiveekMTB Pero no dejan entrar no?

cool
the grand tour brought me here...
Redbull, are you aware that it's LMS, not LSM?
I love audi Bonkers video
I love Audi.
Just the terrain, for agricultural purposes (not construction) could worth 30-40 million $. Deal?
NO WAY THAT I CAN BRAKE WITH MY LEFT FOOT!!! 0_0
