The Hotel Riu Palace Boavista opened its doors in November 2018 and is situated on the Boa Vista Island, with direct access to the Praia das Dunas beach and next to Hotel Riu Karamboa
The location is ideal due to its proximity to Aristides Pereira International Airport BVC (1,5km), Sal Rei (8km) and invites you to explore the area.
The Riu Palace Boavista has 505 Rooms and has 3 outdoor pools, 2 with swim-up bar and a Children's pool.

Really interesting and thorough review. I'm out there this Thursday. My only worry is the amount of negative reviews and severe food poisoning cases, needles on the beach etc...but this review makes me less nervous. Thanks and well done!
If it’s any comfort, there were no cases of food poisoning that I heard of whilst I was there in July and the beach was super clean, no needles to be seen anywhere! 😊
Went 2nd week January 2023, loved it.
There was every type of food you can imagine and so much to choose from.
Any drinks you want are served and even free drinks in your rooms.
This hotel is no longer for adults only.
Not a great night life and nothing around hotel, but if your wanting to relax then this is the place.
If you get the chance go on the quad bikes, wouldn’t bother with the 4x4 excursion as it wasn’t really a 4x4 trip.
Definitely go again.

Thanks for the comment! There are sockets by each side of the bed and USB Ports but take a couple of adapters and an extension lead, that’s what I did! 😊

The Wi-Fi was very good, we had no problems watching our iPads or downloading. When you check in, there is a code for your room on the paperwork :) Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it :)

Hi there. Great review. I was just wondering during your stay or after, whether you had heard when in October the neighbouring Hotel Riu Karamboa is due to open and if its Splash Waterpark will be accessible for people staying at Hotel Riu Boavista? Many thanks.
The Karamboa is on sale from the last week in October, not sure yet if both hotels can use the water park but I would say it most likely will be as this is how RIU do it in most hotel complexes 😊
What beer did they have if you remember going in July

Looks really nice. Did you not have an issue with flies in the buffet area or food poisoning? I've read many google reviews about this issue. This is only thing that is preventing me and my wife for booking this trip in the coming weeks. Thank you 🙏
There were flies around, but no more than any other hot country. I have heard that some people have had sickness in Cape Verde recently but we were fine 😊

Yes all restaurants are part of the all inclusive - you have to book the a la carte though

Hi the hotel looks lovely. I just wondered if the adults swim up rooms are 16 or 18 years old? As the hotel in Turkey we recently visited classed 16 as adults. Also does it have a football pitch? Many thanks

did you do the 4x4 tour with the kids? I am wondering if that is suited for toddlers or too bumpy of a ride?
Yes I did it with a 7 and 9 year old. It’s a bumpy ride and they do a lot of sliding so I would probably not take a toddler. Hope that helps x
Ok noticed a lot of sugary drinks in fridge do they have diet options?
Are there pools with water tubes etc. Website shows photo of pool with water slides/ tubes but your view didnt mention it.
There is access to the water slides shared with the Riu Karamboa next door x

My 9 and 7 year old had the best time! They loved it 😊
The pools at the Palace are NOT salt water pools. We’ve just spent 11 days here and been in all pools and our villa pool and none of them are salt water. Really good in-depth review.
Thanks for your feedback :) the information sheet I have from Riu say the pools are salt water and when I was there a couple of weeks ago the main pools definitely were not chlorinated. I can’t say for the Villa pools though, they may not be saltwater :)

Did you not have an issue with flies in the buffet area? I've just returned from my honeymoon, and was incredibly ill the majority of the time, I can only put it down to the insane amount of flies all over the food!
I’m going there this week and this is my concern as have read a lot of reviews about how there are a abnormal amount of flies and how they are all over the food
@@bendavey5386 it might not be such an issue for you, it seems late July to mid September is peak season for it.
