This is not legal advice but I am actually a licensed attorney. The biggest advice I can give whether your talking about 922(r), or any other potential criminal matter, is simply don't answer questions. For example, if you were asked, "Was this part made in China or the US," you're under no obligation to respond. Remember, the state has to prove the case. That's not to say that you shouldn't comply with the law, but even if you're 100% sure you're complainant, don't answer questions. Period. Don't do the state's job for them.
You’re welcome - 922r is a mess and likely would never hold water - but that doesn’t mean they won’t try and defending a try is way more expensive financially and emotionally than it is to just take 922r off the table - particularly if this shotgun is a go-to weapon
Just found your channel and really Enjoy your content, I have had My Ben M4 for 18 yrs now taken numerous classes thousands of rounds through it at Front Sight with no Hic ups, it is an Awesome Gun indeed.
I like the info presented in you videos. I would appreciate them even more if you got right to the point. You are extremely long winded and repetitive at times.
I turn on the camera and talk. No script. And I've been talking about 922r and some of these other topics for years. Because I have been answering the phone and dealing with questions about this gun and the legalities of it for the last 12 years, I know what questions people have and where they get hung up. I know what parts of the discussion they need to hear multiple times to finally understand it because I live it on the phone each day and have for 12 years. As such, I know what it takes to get people to understand this content, and it isn't by focusing on brevity with a get in get out approach. My goal is for someone to watch the video and have a complete understanding as to how why where when in regards to this stuff so my phone rings less. I'd prefer a typical viewer to spend THEIR time watching my complete video when it's convenient for them than for me to try to cut it to the nub and then I'm spending my time on the phone answering questions that by being quick got left out. I know some of these are long and I know I'm repetitive and I know I can be long-winded. It is what it is. Not to mention that these videos are free for the viewership, I do it as a service to the community.
@@FreedomFighterTactical Thank you for you comprehensive response. Please understand I meant no disrespect. It's your work and effort that makes you, your channel and your business the success they all are. You know exactly what is best.. I tip my hat, sir.
I didn’t take it as a knock and I’m very happy you responded again and I value you more than you know. I love what I do with the videos and answering the phone and helping people out but it can be exhausting. On the other hand, it’s very informative because, like I said, I’m aware of where people get hung up and I’m aware of the thought processes people have with this stuff and how they go from point A to point B, so that does make it easier. I do pour everything I can think of into each video knowing that the videos are far from perfect but for those who stick around they will learn a lot from a guy who has helped thousands just like them figure this stuff out as best he can. Hey Todd, big fan and bought a ton of 922r compliant parts from you on the Benelli. Any chance you will go into business on B&T 922r compliance in the future? The B&T community is sorely lacking the resources you're providing for Benelli. Plus on top of it all, they make a Benelli fore-end that is quite awesome but it would be cool if your business expanded that way; I have an APC300 purchased in pistol form and im thinking of selling it as i just can't juggle 922r properly for that gun and B&T rifles in general when i'm trying to convert it to an SBR by adding their collapsible stock
@@FreedomFighterTactical yea all rifles indeed and all swiss made! Big hole in the market! Highest quality rifles in the world so in that same class as Benelli
Yes. A pinned stock is a fixed stock. Example. S&W MP 15 featureless. Stock is bolted and pinned. It’s consider a fixed stock. If you remove the bolt and drill out the pin then the stock is collapsible. Illegal. It only thing that matter is the stock can not be collapsible in anyway way during police gun inspection.
I don’t provide sample letters due to legal reasons associated with my professional license. Sorry but you are on your own for that. However, a quick one paragraph question is more than enough to get the job done. I’m still waiting on letters I sent them on May 26.
How are you doing? I’m just very curious I purchase one and M4 and my intentions were to deck it out with the furniture well you solved a lot of my issues. Thank God I’m going the legitimate way. I don’t want any blood house sniffing around and running into problems one last question I need to know if you can help me is does that comply with the maverick 8812 gauge shotgun as well the folding stocks can you please tell me thank you have a wonderful night
I'm about to purchase, through Gunbroker, a M4 with the collapsible stock and extended tube. Currently I have purchased enough parts to make the shotgun 922r compliant, but wonder if the FFL I am transferring through needs to verify 922r compliance before releasing the gun. Thanks for any assistance.
I don't think I've ever heard you comment on how, if possible, to make the M4 922r compliant, if you want to put the OEM factory collapsible stock AND the OEM factory seven round magazine tube on. It seem like you always assume that people are going to purchase an American made tube. Can you tell me, in your opinion, what you would have to do to make the shotgun compliant in this configuration?
I’m hearing you on the two parts for a collapsible stock but if the recoil tube only has one fixed extended position it would be a faux (Skeletonized as you say) aesthetic element not an operable one I would argue if it was pinned and that was retarding the ability to collapse then of course it could be unpinned and therefore be noncompliant but the most recent one I purchased new in box does indeed have the faux or aesthetic stock with a recoil tube that makes it impossible to collapse My dealer assures me they are legal or else he would not be able to sell them, it’s a brick and mortar establishment in Northeastern PA very well known for many decades That being said are you still of the opinion I should speak to someone in authority to validate the weapon as legal as I have no intention of increasing the round count or making any other modifications I consider this to be as I bought it (Stock) Thanks
So If I understand you correctly I have to buy the 7 round tube, the full 3 piece trigger kit and the handguards to be able to upgrade capacity and have the collapsible stock right?
If an FFL is going to sell a specific M4/m1014 configuration gun legally, new, with the 5 + 1 and the collapsible stock, can we assume it is 922(r) compliant? In other words, would an FFL sell a non 922(r) compliant gun that is new from benelli?
This might be a bit of a dumb question but does all this also apply to the Benelli M3? I dont know if it being pump action also would change anything or not. And if it does apply to it then what parts can I replace on it to make it 922r compliant? Unfortunately the adjustable stock is an absolute must have for me because without it the LOP is to long for me...
I would switch 4 parts. The atf has never responded to my 922r letter for this gun so I don’t know how many parts for sure, but I’d go with 4 or maybe even 5 to be sure.
I bought it 10 years ago and it came with the non collapsible stock...is there a site where i can order a fixed skeleton stock? I can't purchase a collapsible stock in my state but I did want to change it to the fixed stock cuz it looks nicer
I would just like to ask, is the benelli m4 11707 legal to bring to California? I’m in the military stationed in Va and I fell in love with the shotgun, hopefully if I get stationed back home in California I want to bring it with me.
How about this let's just take the m1014 and make it 922R compliant . I have a factory gun that has a skeletonized butt stock that slides off a 1 position recoil tube. I will replace the recoil tube with a 5 position tube. To make this 922R , what else am I forced to buy to make the gun compliant? Give me a list.
Gun brother John same thing for me regarding my safe on my Benellis have four hunting and my M-4. Any advice on Skelton stock..I’ve shot skeleton stock at wofk
@@FreedomFighterTactical Ight thanks for the quick response. I was gonna order one off Gunbroker but I wasn't to sure. I tried asking one of the sellers and they couldn't tell me that.
This isn't of any reference to the video, but of all of the internal parts available, which do you think are the best to keep extras on hand? Like the gas plugs and/or pistons, extractors, etc. Idk if that would be of interest for a possible video but I always try to keep a nice cache of parts to fall back on during hard times.
You might start with the "M4 Enthusiast's Spare Parts Kit that we have in the M4 Section. And then in the M4 OEM section is everything we have for the M4 that you could source for backup parts.
While I respect your opinion, if we use your logic you must be using a stock gun out of the box with no upgrades, since you believe in using what is intended. And also, in creating this gun it was intended for military and law enforcement use. So if Benelli has been using your logic, you wouldn’t be sold an M4. And to take it a bit further, anti-gunners are always trying to take our gun rights away by telling us that specific guns aren’t intended for civilian ownership as we are only supposed to have enough to allow us to hunt squirrels. So in determining my selection of guns and gun parts, I see no need to defer to what someone else intended. Instead, as a free man I prefer to select what I prefer and like and couldn’t give a crap about what someone else intended.
@@FreedomFighterTactical I understand what you're saying. However, the factory collapsible stock for military and LE is the best and highly desirable for that reason and being more versatile. Again, forget mesa tactical and other single piece fixed stocks.
Believe me - if all M4 shotguns came with the fully collapsible stock and it was near impossible to source a standard pistol grip stock, the same madness would apply in the other direction. People always desire what is seemingly in demand or otherwise scarce. Hey, have a great weekend 👊🏻
The collapsible stock just looks cool , I hate mine at full length I feel the lop is to long when you move it all the way in it changes your line of sight because of the angled stock mount I would take a straight stock no pistol grip with a shorter lop .
Im gonna disagree on the stock. The fixed stock is made up of 3 parts, the grip (which is removable) the buttplate, and the stock body. It is NOT one piece. The BATFE can say its one piece, but if thats the case then so is a collapsible stock thats been pinned. I get its a grey area when the BATFE constantly makes rulings contrary to their very own previous rulings.
As I always say, put 10 attorneys in the room who are all well-versed in the law and they'll still disagree. As you stated, it's a grey area - and when it is, it's best to ensure compliance. Compliance can be had for 1/2 the cost of the first hour in an attorney's chair if one were prosecuted. I think the odds are real low of any trouble over 922r with this gun - pretty much not going to happen - however, if one is paying attention to how law-abiding citizens are treated by prosecutors, media and social media when they exercise their Second Amendment rights, it's best to have everything in compliance as that means one less thing to worry about.
@@FreedomFighterTactical What are your thoughts on the XM1014? Came in during the assault weapons ban with a fixed collapsible stock. BATF approved, but was just a standard multi-piece collapsible stock with a tube that would not allow it to move. Would this not be an example of a pinned stock thats 922R compliant? It was a rare shotgun but I figure you know more about it then I do.
Are you likely to be prosecuted over 922 stuff? No. But it's not worth taking risks around federal firearms stuff. It's all pretty much federal felony kinds of things and that's just not a good idea to even mess with. There are plenty of stories of the ATF nailing people on a shotgun barrel being just 1mm under 18" and not having been declared as a SBS.

I suppose the most cost effective way to get to compliance is to replace the tube, replace the follower, replace the forends, and replace the trigger
Well 614. Instead of the whole trigger kit, spend the 239 and replace the trigger guard. Save about 130 bucks.
