I will check out the series that looks interesting. And you look like a pretty good Teddy Roosevelt!
@@indigowolf556 I think he does a great job.
Teddy Roosevelt Jr went ashore on D Day, survived and died a month later from a heart attack. I found this surprising
Sad!
Buried with his men. Teddy Sr. died after a trip to S. American that probably broke his health.
@@ArizonaGhostriders Yes, I was just surprised, they put the son of a President in harms way
He was a badass too. Gutsy like his dad.
ashore on Utah Beach…somehow more fitting than Omaha given its connections to his father
lost two sons in two wars, his elder brother Quentin was a fighter pilot who died in combat
Elkhorn has an interesting & enjoyable story line which, to me, shows Roosevelt in a much different light 🤠
Bravo Santee
Thank You!
Great video.
Could you do one about the depiction of cowboys/ old west in cartoons and animation?
I can!
Thanks for riding with us during this series! We're glad you enjoyed it!
Sure did. Keep up the great work.
I just found the series on tubi and enjoying it. Keep up the good work, I look forward to watching more.
🍻
I played Jed Colby in INSP Tall Tales of Jim Bridger. I can tell you that INSP goes along way to provide an authentic experience for its viewers. I hope they continue to grow their programming.
Excellent work! I really enjoyed the series. Having worked on a couple INSP films myself I can tell you they do a terrific job and treat us actors very well. Glad they continue to be dedicated to American history.
I've been training as a sculptor for months but I'm not very good at it. Just the other day, I made an Elk from limestone, which I thought was good, but my art teacher, Mr Watson, couldn't work out what it was.
I said to him surely he could see it was sedimentary, my deer, Watson.
HAHAH!
I recommend a book called "The Old Lion" by Jeff Shaara, an autobiographical look at Roosevelt's life and early death. However, getting back to ARIZONA, his friendship with Bucky O'nell (who lived here in Prescott, AZ) and his time with the Rough Riders is very interesting.
Yep! Good stuff.
Mr. Roosevelt, faced many, many, challenges his as a youth his Asthma, the lose, of both his Wife, and Mother, on Valentines Day. The assassination attempt on his life! He was considered quite Liberal in some of his policies. Franklin D.
followed many of his ideas. Although, they were of different political parties.
Yup
Always sceptical about dramatisations of real historical figures lifes. They are bound to create and propagate some falsehood’s.
That includes pretty much every period piece Hollywood puts out.
Didn't even know about this show, definitely going to have to check it out! Thanks for the heads up :D
Hope you enjoy it!
Very interesting. The variety of topics on your videos with the central theme of the old west is amazing. Good job Santee.
Thank You!
Because of this video, I decided to give the series a try. I’ve watched 2 episodes on their UA-cam channel so far, and I like it.
I don’t know anything about TR’s younger life, but I am assuming they took some liberties on the historical accuracy 😂
Although I do like that the main actor definitely has a TR look and voice.
From what I read the events so far have been pretty accurate.
i was curious about this series, started watching the first episode here on UA-cam. Might have to give a second chance.
You should.
So sorry I’m late to the party… Work, travel, graduations, and weddings lol… I will have to check this series out! Roosevelt has always been interesting to me. Poor Brazelton needs a meat stick too, and maybe some cheese! Oh, and don’t tell Piglet that his best friend is going to be a bear named Pooh… Only Disney tells lies like that! :-)
HAHA! Thanks for the comment. Have a good one.
I will need to check it out.
Good.
Thank you, Santee. The show looks really good.
You're welcome.
Where was the main location filming?
I think they filmed in Montana.
I worked on this show for a few months, and the crew was amazing, cast were some of the nicest people you could meet. Legendary stuntman Peter Sheryako of Tombstone fame did all the wardrobe and weapons handling. The amount of research and attention to detail he provided is unsurpassed on set.
I've met Peter a few times, and he is a real gentleman, not to mention one of the most valuable assets in the industry. He is not nearly so well known as he should be publicly.
I've worked with Peter a couple times. He offered to buy everyone's guns! LOL!
@@ArizonaGhostriders Funny Peter Sherayko story for you, Santee. This is about 30 years ago now. I worked as a messenger in L.A., via motorcycle. Among our clients was John Milius' office. We had a job to go pic up a new lever rifle (Italian repro, I think, don't recall which model) from an address in a canyon at the east end of the San Fernando Valley and bring it to Mr. Milius. I arrived to a house with a fenced yard at the sidewalk and about 15 yards to the house front door. But there was a horse in the yard right at the gate, all its attention on me. I was trying to figure out how to get in, over to the front door, and not let the horse out. After pondering for about 30 seconds, the front door opens and out steps Peter, my first time meeting him. He has this big smile on his face and, as he walks to meet me at the gate, he says, "I see you met the Watch Horse."
As an amateur history buff, I already knew much of this about Teddy Roosevelt. But I'm definitely going to check out this series. While the story may take some liberties with actual fact, i still find these types of shows much more interesting than the waste ordinarily shown on television. Thank you.
I thought the Frenchman was fake, but turns out he was a real character.
I never knew all that about Teddy Roosevelt. Interesting THANKS SANTEE
You're welcome
2 episodes left, not bad if you are a TR history buff. Bully!!!
Yes!
Santee. I've been watching a ch on UA-cam that showcases short story westers SO I got to thinking and I know that's a dangerous thing lol BUT!!!YOU GUYS could do that. I'm serious.you all could makes good one.....your thoughts oh chief cook and bottle washer??????
Awww, thanks. Maybe one day.
I will have to check it out. Looks promising. I have always been a big fan of Theodore Roosevelt. I especially love his Rough Rider days. Can you do a dressing the part for 1st US Volunteer Cavalry Rough Riders?
I will if I can find someone with the outfit.
I knew of TR's cowboy days. Read his Autobiography abound 1960 either late Jr HS or early High School. You know, . . . back in the days we had to dodge dinosaurs going to and from school. Own and have read his "The Naval War of 1812," own but have not gotten to his book on hunting big game in Africa, read part of the one about his experience in the Spanish-American war. Watched a number of documentaries. Long been on my bucket list to visit his house Sagamore Hill, but it is on the other side of the country, and at my age probably it's probably not going to happen.
I saw that it is a museum, so that is pretty neat. Got a lot of his trophies...
Thank you once again a great review.
I've recently purchased a Rossi r92 45-colt Davidson Exclusive Edition, 16inch barrel, large loop lever and saddle ring. It loads and fires any yupe of 45-colt.
I love it . The smoothest lever action I have ever fired.
Have you ever used any Rossis what is you lever action preferences
I have a Rossi and love it. Brazilian Walnut stock. Dark and pretty.
Hey Santee, I'm with a band from Sierra Vista, and we're looking for a location for a video. We were thinking about Mescal or Old Tucson studios. DO you happen to know who we need to get in touch with for a quote/process of doing that? Thanks!
I do, but please email me (in the channel info) or PM me on Messenger: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555622694767
Haven't watched the series yet, but now I'm going to have to. It looks good and interesting, and like anyone else here I'm always up for checking out anything to do with the old west. If I'm not mistaken it was during Teddy Roosevelt's time in Cuba that the term Peacemaker was first coined and used for the 1873 Colt Single Action Army. Despite what Hollywood would have us believe. One other quick suggestion Santee, how about a video on the Lone Ranger and Tonto? Of course we know about these legendary characters but it would still be fun to have a video devoted to them on the channel. You've never really done one before so how about it?
Thanks. I'm thinkin' about it!
Santee are you sure Teddy said "speak softly but carry a beef stick?" Thanks for sharing this going to have to watch this. I enjoy history like that so much. Thanks for all your hard work and time Sir.🤠🇺🇲
You bet!
What movies have you been in and can I get a list of them so I can watch them.
www.imdb.com/name/nm6601642/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t59
I would stay away from "Cry in the Night."
Bully Santee!! On a fine episode, thanks for the Saturday coffee visit!! Is that "bacon seed" yours?
You're welcome. Not my piglet...but pretty fun.
It is my opinion that INSP is lacking in it's historical accuracy. That being said they are at the very least as good as Hollywierd ever was. I do like that they bring us good wholesome entertainment. Another thing I like on their other series. They bring to light people that history has forgotten. We didn't get where we are just by the Earps, and other known men, but by every man woman and child that trod leather. Boone, and Crockett didn't do it all they had help. All in all, thanks INSP.
🤠
He was definately quite the man and personality for his time. A good model for today as well. I'll be checking Elkhorn out for sure. Thanks for the link to it Santee.
Very cute piglet. I raised one that had been injured as a little guy, years ago named Iggy the Piggy. They are so smart.
Thank You!
Looks like a good watch! 😊
😃
Have to watch the series, see what they did with it.
Been to TR National Park a few times, usually on my way out to Glacier and the Pacific Northwest. Some interesting tidbits:
He went to the Dakota Territories to shoot himself a buffalo before the species disappeared. He got his buffalo, and became enamored the with the area, and invested around $14,000 with the existing Maltese Cross ranch.
Everyone said his voice was "shrill" and he talked funny, lol.
TR lost both his wife *and* his mother within hours of each other, then moved to the ranch.
in 1947, the Theodore Roosevelt National Memorial Park was established, the only National Park established in memorial of a person. It was re-established as a National Park in 1978.
If you go to the South Unit of the park, you can still visit his Maltese Cross Cabin (moved from it's location to the National Park), complete with some of his stuff, like his trunk, bed, desk, dresser, etc. It's a tiny three room cabin with attic.
He's one of the three or four American's I'd like to have met. (Along with Ben Franklin and Merriweather Lewis.)
I saw a film clip with sound of TR speaking. He had a high pitched voice. When I think of all the actors who portray him as a baritone….
Yes, you should watch it.
My favorite president. Back when Bully was a good word.
yes!
Looks like a great series.
It is
I believe the teddy roosevelt statue in new York city is about to be removed from outside the museum of natural history! 😢 so sad to keep losing our past. Great video 🤠
I read that. Apparently it's not about Roosevelt, it's about the other parts of his statue, namely an African American and Native American. If those weren't in there it would stay.
Teddy is still highly regarded in American history as a monumental conservationist and one of the top 5 presidents of this country.
Looks like an interesting series. Thanks for the review. See you on down the trail.
Hope you enjoy it!
He looked kind of nerdy but that's the last thing he was. Tough man is a more accurate description.
Yes, he was. Very smart, too.
At first, I thought the Marquis wife's holster was kydex.
HA! Not a mistake they would make.
I wonder what Teddy would think if he saw today's politicians...
He might roll his eyes and laugh.
I learned a few years ago that the Rosevelt family was related to Laura Ingalls Wilder, on her father's side.
Interesting.
Great show!!! 🐎
Thank You!
I seem to remember that TR went up San Wone hill not Kettle Hill. I could be wrong.
Maybe it's like the "Battle of Bunker Hill" actually having been fought on Breed's Hill----- (I always heard San Juan Hill as well.)
Nope, the area was "San Juan Heights" but he led the charges up Kettle Hill.
San Juan Heights was the area. Kettle Hill was the charge.
Hey Mr Santee, scourge of Tuscan, what about a video on Chinese and other Asian immigrants?
I live near pendleton oregon, with a famous Chinese underground museum, and I lived in rawlins and cheyenne wyoming, which would not exist without the transcontinental railroad that many, many Chinese immigrants worked on
Great idea!
another awesome job, loved the intro thank you again
You're welcome.
Teddy Roosevelt is one of my most admired Presidents. In his last years, still the adventurer he
fished the 10,000 islands on the west coast of Florida.
He stayed and my Grandfathers Seminole Hotel in Ponta Gorda.
Thanks for watching.
You can also see Teddy in a picture of Lincoln's funeral
Interesting!
INSP has some great stuff. Their series on the fur trade and the frontiersmen are fantastic.
I agree. They are truly keeping the spirit of the Old West alive.
@@ArizonaGhostriders amen to that.
So very awsomely interestingly informative and inspiring video, I really liked and enjoyed it, I learned alot about Elkhorn, a show that I haven't heard about until now and I got a lot of inspiration for my old west frontier, paranormal, video games, retro and retrofuturism inspired writing projects, that I'm turning into a spiritual, philosophical and metaphysical mythology and theories documents project with illustrations and a bit of extraterrestrial history inspiration,
Great job and well done, keep up the great work.
The story I'm writing today for my writing projects is set I a location known as The Matena and Koleko VideoArtistry TechMuseum and Park Center Complex, that's just outside the city known as Azurite City in the Emerald Fields within Shinoh ProvinceRegion on the Continent of PanGaia, which is located on the Planet EarthStone, which is the new earth in the stories.
Some of the characters I the stories are part of a group known as Team Aurar Explorations Group of Oneness and two other chatting in the stories are Emmliil'Yuon Àniil and his brother Anke'Ru Ement'Ti of the higher dimensional extraterrestrial 'Àmunna'Ki Civilization.
Thank You!
@@ArizonaGhostriders thanks and your welcome.
Today I'm writing a scene in my writing projects, where one of my characters is playing a newly released video game known as Mharzoh 64: Ventures in Yòshimei VideoWorld Isles.
The scene came from last night's dream that I still very clearly and vividly still remember, it's kind of rare that I have video game dreams, they don't occur to often.
It is unfortunate he lost his ranch. And at the same time if he hadn't returned to politics most of the wilderness west of the Mississippi would have been destroyed.
He sold off all his holdings, but so many did at that time...
You make a better Teddy R than the fella in the show
HA!
Please tell me the piglet's stage name is Pistol-Packin' Peppa.
It is now!
his mother did the same day as his wife
Yeah, rough times.
Wish I could see this series. Sounds great!
So far it's here on UA-cam at INSP's channel page.
Thanks for the info! Will have to check it out.
Hope you like it!
ANOTHER GOOD ONE SANTEE HOPE YOUR WELL OUT THERE !!
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing amigo 🤠 sounds very interesting!!
It is!
Too bad they broke the mold when they made Teddy.
He was quite the man.
You did an episode on dressing like a bandito. How about one on the vaquero.
Certainly.
roosevelt was tough 😳
Quite the man.
I will have to go back to the beginning and watch. I haven’t seen the show yet

Teddy Roosevelt always ranks in the top five, best presidents we've ever had. He may have been controversial, but he definitely wasn't always conventional. very interesting, Santee... Physically, I thought he had a sturdy build, but you said this actor portrayed him very well.
🏡🙏🏻🤗🌞👏🏻
He was a small man, but the photos I've seen of him as younger don't show his full body. This actor looks like the one younger photo I put in the video.

Thank you and blessings to you and Mrs Santee.🤗🌹
Just finished watching the first episode. It was great. I also subscribed to the Insp channel. Thank you again Sante. 😄
Much appreciated.
Here's a fun fact: Teddy went to a saloon & ordered coffee. Another patron insulted him via the use of tenderfoot. Teddy took off his hat & glass then proceeded to knock the man out with skills he picked up becoming the Harvard boxing champion
Nice fact
@Arizona Ghostriders, thank you for highlighting this series Santee, I hope they got the firearms correct in it INSP is keeping the spirit of the old west alive.
The firearms seem pretty run of the mill for the period. Sixguns, shotguns, lever actions.
I’ve been curious about this show since I started hearing about it. Looks like a good watch. Thank you for featuring us at the end Santee! A man of your word and a standup gentleman indeed!
Any time! Pleasure meeting you both!
