Love Navigraph. They're making it better and better and maintaining the monthly cost, which i don't think they even adjusted for inflation like a lot of other services are. Hope they don't read this comment and up the fee this year 😂. Great value for money
@@jonathanlyall413 Then delete the also the charts from navigaph. You can find them online.. Offcourse I can use the vastsim map before going online. But the less apps I need, the better it would be fo me :D
The App was very good before but this is a very impressive update. It’s interesting without even flying. I wonder who their provider of the data is, I expect some aviation source. My only comment is the metar tab needs some work to make it clearer. Thx for video as usual. Be interesting when next hurricane/Typhoon appears
i wonder if Navigraph will add an API which could be leveraged by the onboard weather radars so we're not beholden to Asobo's horriby gimped radar simulattion. would be nice!
This type of data gives a top-down view. Aircraft weathers radars look at weather from the side. This is why we don't have accurate weather simulation.
This would require PMDG/Fenix/whomever to utilize said API and display it. So this isn't impossible, but would require work. And unfortunately it would require more data than this weather provides. This is similar to what we have-top down.
Satellites and reports by aircraft are major factors in remote area weather analysis and forecasts. Aircraft would for example downlink spot wind and temperatures when making position reports while flying over the north atlantics and satellites capture weather systems.
is this the next best alternative until microsoft/asobo pull their fingers out and implement proper weather radar functions for 3rd party devs to work with
Asobo are contractually bound by Meteoblue (who provide the weather data) NOT to make it publicly available as an API. that's why the weather radar data sucks. it's just a bitmap that the addons can paste onto the radar screen, but not manipulate or query in any other way.
737NG Driver, very interesting video and very powerfull tool for weather information. Now we have a lot weather info but, how does a pilot react to this information? How should a virtual pilot act according to the weather situation? It would be very interesting to have a video tutorial on how to act on your flight plan when you encounter certain weather conditions. Would you accept the challenge of making a video about that? Greetings.
It is real world weather and msfs should also match this. Many say it doesn't but the few times that I double checked it, it was right (maybe I don't double check it often enough).
The value of this program just keeps growing. After many years I could finally justify a subscription, and at the right time no less!
I could do without every single addon but Navigraph / SImbrief, no way. That is absolutely essential.
This is one of my wishes- to have weather overlay in Navigraph
Great presentation. Thanks

I pay annually and they did implement a small increase in price this year. Still worth the price.
@@GumperVanLier oh did they? i mustn't have been paying attention. as you say, still worth
@@GumperVanLier Same.
Thanks for the good explanation on the different weather chart representations
My pleasure!
Amazing thanks for the vid!
Great exlanation. Thanks a lot
Hopefully they will implement a nice Vatsim/ivao/pilotedge. So that we can see which ATC is online.
Just use the vatsim map before going online?
@patrick absolutely want this! 1 app with all in one place within the sim would be the dream!

This is one of the best Navigraph updates! Thank you for sharing, I didn't know about it.
very Informative , will definitely look at this
that is cool thanks for the explanation
Impeccable
Awesome!

The weather additions are great, but those wind vectors are so tiny it's impossible to see them.
What do I need to do to enable this? I don't see a weather option
This is all well and good and an amazing feature, but a lot of the time MSFS weather is inaccurate.
Thanks! Very interesting review! Do we know what source is Navigraph using to pull the weather?
Very nice features, as long as the actual in-sim weather is correct. If not it gets pretty useless I guess.
This is also my thought, its very nice, but then it should be the same in the sim.
How accurate is it regarding the live weather in msfs2020? I surely hope that when it shows heavy weather on Navigraph, that it reflects in the sim.
That's the big question... on my first few flights the turbulence data was quite spot on. I didn't do any comparisons on precip and the likes yet.
Maybe I didn't understand it, but are the weather data the same as we have with meteoblue?
how can they measure all this data, like somewhere above the atlantic ? simulation? i mean like high level winds
Satellites and reports by aircraft are major factors in remote area weather analysis and forecasts.
Aircraft would for example downlink spot wind and temperatures when making position reports while flying over the north atlantics and satellites capture weather systems.
We can measure even the height of waves with centimeter precission from space. So yeah, a lot of satellites.
has this been implemented yet? I'm a navigraph unlimited subscriber and don't have the weather icon visible
It has been implemented
Is the subscription cost still the same ?
Yes it is

Is this using msf2020 weather data?

I love It. I use it when I go to the beach, whether it's going to rain or not.😎🌥
