    This is as much advice for life as it is for trials riding.

    I always visualise when I’m unsure, trying to get my son to do the same, do the whole move in your head then go

      Norfolk an chance likewise, i have to apply all this stuff myself... usually say to myself 'i won't make it!' and tense up, then am surprised when i clean a section. need to be positive from the start.

    When I was a small boy age 6 or so my uncle put me on his trials bike. This is around 1990. I fell in love with trials. I still don't own one. Now that my kids are getting older I think I may purchase one. I'm a big guy. 6ft4 220lbs. What would you recommend for a good beginner bike for me? Im looking for used not new. I'm barely a middle class American.

      I didn't see any replies in here to your question. One of the best places if you are on Facebook is to find the Trials bike for sale US classified group, where people all around the US post their bikes. Not sure if a link works here, but here it is: facebook.com/groups/1495277897377019/

    Awesome trials (and life!) advice. BTW, what's the name of that techno song at the end in the background?

    • @crosstrainingtrials
      @crosstrainingtrials  3 роки тому +1

      I think it's either "Round 2" or "Clockworks" by Dolby. He went on to do heaps of similar music under his real name, Marko Furstenberg.... most of it is copyright-free.

    I live by Chicago in the US, and the closest place that does work on Sherco's is a few hours away. Have you guys thought about doing any videos about regular maintenance? Awesome channel guys!

    • @crosstrainingtrials
      @crosstrainingtrials  10 років тому +1

      wigidy12 thanks widigy. maintenance vid is on the list so will eventually get around to it. so far there seems to be so little to do though, except for check all the bolts every second ride. they do seem to like vibrating things loose, regardless of two or four stroke!

    • @wigidy12

      So true! I was used to having to replace top ends, fork seals, and tires on the enduro. I changed hand grips on the Sherco. Yet another reason why trials is the best 2 wheel sport. Keep fighting the good fight!

    So as someone who wants to get into trials, the closest thing I have to a trials bike is a honda XR100 lol, do you think this would be an okay bike to get the basics done with? In my defense, the damn thing is light, right around 160 lbs, not much suspension travel, seems to be sprung alright for my weight, SUPER low torquey gearing (which is needed with like 8 ish horsepower LOL). How bad of an idea is this?

    • @crosstrainingtrials
      @crosstrainingtrials  9 років тому +2

      +Sruikyl they used to have a trail bike class in many trials clubs, i think your XR is a good idea! the main problem is getting a good steering angle for tight turns...

      that was my question also except for a crf 100. front wheel seems hard to lift, could be me, clutch work is hard, one finger, two fingers the ones left have holding on problems. gona try an add on hydrolic clutch hoping for easier pull. ballance while not moving is right out, crf should do that , must be me. and springs, for hoping the wheels should the shocks be modified, like maybe with less dampening? how much easier would it be to learn if I had a real trials bike? sure looks easy when you do it.

    Please send one "Power dressing outfit" in blue with triple padding. I am trying to muster up the money, confidence and courage for a Fantic fixer upper, a Bugatti and one pierced earring with a cubic zirconium. I would also like to save up enough money to have the letter "M" banned from the English alphabet indefinitely.

    • @crosstrainingtrials
      @crosstrainingtrials  10 років тому +2

      BetaBlade852 nothing at all, it's just an australian thing to make fun of each other's bikes. e.g. in our club the guys who ride those bikes like to make fun of my four stroke. :-)
