My blood boils anytime I watch this movie because the husband is the most manipulative man, an overbearing, low self-esteem individual. He doesn't want his wife to work, even after the baby was born after about five years. She did an interview but he went there to tell them that she was pregnant and could not take the job. The wife wasn't pregnant but he wanted another child since she had a girl, he wanted a boy the wife refused and filed for divorce, he refused to sign the papers For those who are wondering the title is Tale of Rose.
This series is a prime example of when a woman playing that "green tea role" can get her into a situation you can't get herself out of.. She played koi and submissive knowing that her personality was everything but that and then ended up catching an over-bearing, controlling, low self-esteem having, manipulative monster.. With a bonus of a venomous mother-in-law who is extremely attached to not only her son, but the financial benefits she gives to him and she absolutely refuses to give way to a wife or any other woman in his life.. The fact that their marriage had serious issues not only throughout the entirety of her pregnancy, but it also continued into the next 6 years and this idiot still stayed.. Also ; We can't forget the fact that her first boyfriend displayed most of if not all of the same personality traits as her current husband.. Her choice is men is a HUGE red flag within itself.. Which is so confusing considering how independent and hard working she is.. It can't possibly be that she doesn't know that she is willing putting herself into these relationships and marriage that she herself knows are doomed to fail because of incompatibility.. Like is this lady a masochist? Does she like being abused? What is this ladies problem..
Her husband is a coward resigning his wife’s job without checking with her first then having his mom move in with them. She would of lived comfortably if she had stayed with the French guy and relocated to Paris
The only person the husband was "unfaithful" with was his mother, whom he let push his wife around and make their lives miserable. If you think he's manipulative, take a look at the mother who raised him! No wonder the husband has such an inferiority complex and is so desperate to keep his wife, the only good thing in his life. Too bad these people don't believe in marriage counseling. A good therapist could help him separate from his mother and grow up.
You might be mistaking him with someone else, because this is the 1st time I've seen actor Lin Gengxin portray a true unfaithful character as the Male Lead, or any of his major roles to date.
@@johnnythao You're right, it's Du Chun I'm thinking about. I remember now that Lin Geng Xin is the wonderful Xing Yun on my favorite power drama of 2024, "The Legend of Shen Li", and maybe even 2025, if they don't have a better one to top it. Thanks for the correction.

This ML usually plays a cheater on his dramas, so it's surprising in this drama, he doesn't cheat but he's terribly controlling and manipulative.
