Be warned: hornets can fly faster and longer than you can run! If there is a nest you need to destroy, you will have a safer time after midnight when all of them are inside resting.
I did this all the time as a kid. I learned that after you destroy the nest you have about 5 seconds to get as far away as possible before they react if you can get at least 50 feet away in that time they get confused and don't know who to chase.
No he’s a safe distance and probably ran like hell . I’ve personally have destroyed these nuisance pest more than once. If they’re out in the wild fine . Even though we have built onto their domain. Wasp , hornets like man made structures for homes .
If you wait till they’re sleeping at night, you can put a large garbage bag over the nest. Removing it this way keeps you safe from getting stung a million times.😊
Make sure the bag is not a thin plastic type of bag, I did this shit once when I was a kid and they ripped that plastic bag all the way and i got stung like 3 times
I had a hornets nest on a lower branch of a tree in my yard. I took our garden hose and sprayed the nest until it was soaked. One hornet stayed about 6 feet from me, but I didn't leave. I was not buzzed by any other hornet or any closer by the one. I can only believe that's because I stood my ground and had the water hose. I was wearing Capri pants and a pullover summer top. The one finally flue away.
@@DellekvaryYT In Vietnamese countryside, kids destroyed nestsand run, another dangerous 'sport' is provoke the dogs, when the dogs intense reaction and chasing them, they run away :)
@bloodmoonvampire6632 I think we stayed in for at least an hour. Once we saw that the coast was clear, we grabbed wasp spray and went to work on the rest of the nest.
Other bugs and animal eat pest too and the garden wouldn’t be there with out bees to pollinate it and hornets attack bees and also they are aggressive and it looks like it’s on farm equipment or other stuff while there is better ways to get rid of them then with a rock that didn’t take out the entire hive because they are more likely to be more aggressive also he has bees I think and like I said before hornets attack bees and that makes bee keeping more difficult
When you cut the grass or trim the hedges keep hornet..spray close by...it sprays up to 20 feet....good for spraying up near the roof and around the windows
Been there done that to a hive twice that size as a kid but it was rocks and we were farther away. We ran like our lives depended on it. 😮 not the smartest move I've made. The swarm was unbelievably massive
Years ago when my son was a little boy, he pointed out a huge paper wasp best hanging from a tree limb in the back of our yard. The thing was the size of a basketball or bigger. So I explained to him what we were going to do, and I let him throw a football at it. He missed the nest and hit the branch. Those wasps came out, and they were mad. We ran in the house. I later rigged up three sections of garden hose and when at it with water. I got stung twice, but I got that thing off of the tree
I wouldnt recommend doing this much but you can get away with this. After you destroy the nest it takes about 5-10 seconds for them to process what happened and get mad. If you can get more than 50 ft away in that time they dont really know what to chase giving you plenty of time to escape. Although if you're this close when destroying the nest it's much harder. Me and my friend were chucking rocks from like 30 ft away
Good luck for trying coming back ...what most people dont know they have photographic memory so they will remember you and sometimes these hornets wait anywhere near for 3 weeks or so to wait and get you when you finally get out of the house
Well, I interviewed a few of the girls, they are mostly girls, and they said they don't forget things. I said, that could be correct, for human females don't forget things others do, but forget what the do, themselves.😅
@ That’s amazing. I’ve had yellow jackets and bald faced hornets chase me a long way after disturbing their hives. I received a numerous stings. In fact, I’ve had yellow jackets come after me without even touching the nest.
Can you tell us what happened? "I dunno, me an buzzy were sittin at the bar in hornetsville, when the universe came crashing down. Me an buzzy were left hanging by our feet. We tried stingin it, but all we got was bent stingers."
Couldnt you tie like 5 big trashbags around it or dislodge it into a trashcan of water then close the lid? I have no idea but breaking it wide open seems crazy
The trash bag thing will work when a nest is in a tree and you do it at night. You cut the branch. If you tried to put a trash bag around this thing, you'd have 200 wasps stinging you in about 30 seconds. There would be no way to seal the bag enough without them getting out.
We did shit like that back in the 70s...and when our brothers came running back to the house, my sisters and I already had locked all the windows and doors. This wasn't cruel. This was GEN X survival of the fittest. My parents typically respose: "That's your own damn fault, dumbass!"
WHEN I SEE THIS WASP NEST, I START TO THINK ABOUT THE REAL REASONS AND WISDOMS BEHIND THE CREATION OF IT. WHAT A PERFECT ART AND WHAT A POWERFULL AND MERCIFULL CREATOR.
