Marquise is entitled but no amount of money is a substitute for emotional support and guidance from a father. My dad died when I was 12 and we were broke when he was alive and the life insurance changed that but I would give it all up to be able to learn from him and talk to him because he had so much to teach me.

Although, even if it is what it says, children shouldn't love their parents unconditionally either. Some parents are abusive or outright dangerous. The reason for the discrepancy in child support is because he was paying them 25k a month until she took him to court asking for more, then the judge decided he only had to pay 6,700.

I grew up without a father and while it’s been one of the hardest things of my life, when I actually met him I knew he was someone I was better off not having been around while growing up.

Him not valuing what he just got seem to be the kind of learned behavior you see when the other parent expects to be getting more for nothing. And no that is not a mother issue, plenty if fathers have turned their kids towards their mother in all sorts of ways.
That should be the perfect moment to step in as a father to really learn your kid the value of money. So in that situation he let his dislike for his own kids behavior take over rather than viewing it as a moment that could be a correction that would give him a real lesson. Not that the kids in our family have had private jet experiences but in the early years they were much more spoiled than me and my siblings were.
No one liked the result and because it was early created rules, they can't just go to an uncle, aunt or grandparent for money when they want something all the time. There is a time and place for gifts and because we are in better positioned than our parents they bigger things. It was just also very important for them to know if you get something you are supposed to be grateful, mannered, and don't expect it to be a regular occurrence. And more importantly the value of earning their own money. Today like me and my siblings used to, they almost uncomfortable when it's a big gift like a car. And even made an agreement that they will work off half of the cost. They are going to be in even better positions than we were, but none of them treat money and anyone in the family as an unlimited ATM machine.

I didn't learn I had "daddy issues" until I was gasping for air in the recruiting center doing exercises and running at 16 years old. I had an interest in the military at the time, by my own accord. A MSgt. pulled me aside and asked me why I'm stopping. And then he said, "How would you feel if your dad saw you like that? Would he be proud??" I said no. "Did he ever say he was proud of you" and I said "no.." and he told to me go back. I tried to walked it off but I broke into tears and I couldn't pretend to be tough. He consoled me and apologized for revealing some trauma in me.
My point is.. at 24 years old rn, it still hurts me sometimes and I still cry if I ever think about how much my dad wasn't there for me. It always felt like he didn't like me. We can pretend to be tough and rugged but having a shitty Father/Son relationship is fucking tough on the sons.. I never knew how much I genuinely wanted to be appreciated or told how proud he is of me. And I know a lot of us men feel this way.

My comment was just me telling my experience with my own dad, just that. To add to that, I've seen and experienced my dad's struggles being poor and being a mexican migrant. My first born child made decisions that I find unacceptable. She was seeing a much older man while she was a minor, married this man who continually cheats, manipulates and abuses her. She continues to go back. I have been cursed out and verbally abused continually. As a parent I love my child, however because of the mistreatment I had to separate myself. I do not agree with 50 cent that a parent should stop loving their child because of their poor decisions, but sometimes you do have to separate and let them go. Prayerfully they will figure it out in the end, if they live long enough. Continue to be that strong tough parent but still continue to love him, our young men need it.

So you're able to recognized she's a victim and that he is manipulating her, which is never under the victim's control, and then claim it's her decisions and thus you're cutting contact as a result? If she's a victim and being forced to be terrible to you she has little choice depending on how abusive he is. It might not be her doing at all and might even be against her will. A lot of things don't add up well in this story, that's a lot of gaps for such a complex situation so it's impossible to give an accurate judgement from an outside perspective, and those are some serious actions to cut what might be someone's only out in such an awful situation where they may be helpless, i hope she's complicit and mostly taking his defense which can make cutting contact understandable, but if she's very much unable to take a breath without him overlooking and puppetering it's negligent. If the man was much older when they started dating while she's a minor, is there nothing to be done legally? I suppose depending on what age she was, what your local laws are and what you consider much older it might vary.
One thing i can say is that this is very different from 50 cent's situation.

My point is whether your child is good or bad to you, you should still love them, even if you have to distance yourself. No one should tolerate being abused, even parents. My youngest boy will turn 19 next month. Man its been a hard slog with him. The teenage years generally are and I've found that the hardest part of being a father is making the hard calls that make you unpopular. Hell sometimes they even think they hate you but I've seen the results of the sons whose fathers were either too weak, soft or lazy to make those calls generally they've ended up raising weak, soft and lazy men. Entitlement is never a good look and I stand here now so fucking proud of my boy. Of my 3 sons he was definitely the hardest to raise through the teenage years but damn he's a good dude. Actually I live in NYC and my internet provider was charging me MORE than that when my contract expired and i didn't notice. I was able to renegotiate. But in Manhattan RCN literally charge $160 if you dont have a service contract. You also dont have a choice on what internet company you use, bc each building is wired for only one or two companies.

They definitely upcharge for where you live. i originally was going to get an apartment in a far less affluent area (I live in the current most expensive part of the city, but they base that ranking off cost of condo sales not apartment rentals.. my rent is actually "cheap" by 2022 standards) and the company that serviced the building I was looking at there only charged like $50. My electrical bills are insane. My apartment is 650 square feet and my average bill is like $300.

The thing is he doesn't live an "average lifestyle" like he claims. He lives in a mansion in an expensive New York suburb and has lives a more luxurious lifestyle than the vast majority of people.
The fact that 50 killed his tv son on the hit series Power, tells me a lot how he really feels about his own son and what he probably would've already done if there were no consequences for it. It's no coincidence that 50 said if his son died, he wouldn't cry or even be sad about it, shot and killed his TV son in cold blood who he didn't have a great relationship with either based off the script that he wrote and produced. If you look at his relationship with his son or lack there of, and then watch the show. 50 was definitely trying to tell us something, and if you just pay attention, it's almost too easy to read in between the lines.

Wow. His son was raised by a real piece of work. That being said, since 50 knew the kind of woman he chose to have a child with, he should have made time to be there more. His son may talk a big game, but posting that picture was clearly a way to seek his dad’s attention. Hearing your father say he wouldn’t care if you died is incredibly cruel. No child deserves to hear that.
I hope one day they can make amends. I had a very strained relationship with my father through childhood and into adulthood I didn’t speak to him for five years. I reached out after I had my own child. My dad is a completely different man now after realizing he wasn’t entitled to a relationship with his children if he didn’t put in the work (he has 4 sons as well and during the time he and I didn’t speak, his relationship with my brothers also suffered.) Now he is a very present father. I hate that we didn’t speak for so long and that it took that separation to make a change in him. However, I’m so thankful that he did change.
I pray that can happen in this situation, but I’m afraid it takes a certain level of emotional maturity to realize your mistakes that 50 doesn’t have.

My father was my world my entire life, but My mother abused me my entire life, and he just allowed it to happen... Watched as she abused me constantly... and what's worse? If I ever tried to defend myself from the onslaught of verbal abuse... He would get extremely angry ,red in the face, and flip out at me. Eventually I realized that isn't love, that isn't caring for your child, and there is immense damage that comes with it... All because he only cared about his wife and not having to deal with his wife's anger.
Children deserve parents who love them, and are there for them, and a father needs to be able to control his home. So many men have no control over their families and their homes, and this is the result.
