Ya I was working at a shop I loved the money I was the top regional earner. I managed to get a120k year peice work. Could have hit probably 160k if the shop would have had proper training and employees. They had repair planers that would give up on finding parts instead of coming to get help sourcing ei. A bodyman or manager, so when it came time to assemble parts where missing. We had painter that didn't produce quality work ei. Edges missed inclusions.... so again more time lost waiting. So this went on for a year after the company was aquired by another franchise.... well all this stress got to me and I lost my cool and ended up getting fired.... it got so bad in these four shops in town that all managers got fired or quit.... the new owner lost over 50 employees to ither quiting or fired.....

Marc, sorry for the delay responding. Sorry you were the victim of very poor leadership. I hope you have landed at a great place to work.

I have been at the same shop for 16 years. Slowly I started getting fed up with others incompetence. Estimators forgetting to order parts, not having guts to stand up to adjusters, painter just complaining about anything possible to try to prove points, all while he was spraying dry panels daily and not spotting in rad. supports even though I left notes and labeled etc. My manager was just a peace keeper, never really cracked a whip when needed. My income went down after we got bought out by corporate.. I got to a point where I did a few side jobs and made more money in 3 weekends than I did in 4 months working daily. So now I have started my own shop and am stoked to do my thing my way. Not that I can do everything better, but I'll be happy and that is really important.
