I can tell you are an artist and not just an average paint pourer because you are VERY particular. Your work is beautiful and you think it isn't. You are wonderful and talented. I LOVE your work.
Antonia The flowers are beautiful. Your thinking out loud commentary while you paint is so helpful to me. Your philosophy about your art and life in general clicks with me. You accept the imperfections as you see them and don't place big expectations on yourself. Your paintings are among my very favorites, they are absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you Sandra I feel same way with what you got and it's still unique to your artwork skills and that's why it's Art. Play with paint and sometimes it does the work for you and you don't have to be perfect yet the creative thoughts are still intact. And ready for another art piece start something new! Enjoyed watching you paint . Your words were comforting try it again . But keep your original intact. 😁🌅🌵
Thank you... sorry about the sound. Not sure what the problem was that day. I think I got a new microphone later on after filming this quite a while back
Love your thoughts here at the end. Work through our flaws. Perfection should never be expected. But isn't it nice as we practice it over and over again, we can perfect? You do it beautifully. I am inspired by you. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your experience and philosophy while doing this painting. It's abstract and colorful, cheerful and lively. I'm always amazed at how many colors you use to a great effect. It's encouraging seeing you have mishaps and then working thru them. It's easy to fall into the perfection trap and forget to just enjoy painting. Also, I want to say thanks for your husband's military service and to you for being a military wife.
Thank you so much Deborah. I actually married him about 5 years ago, after he had retired with 23 years in the Air Force. But I am very proud of him. My step son is also in the Army and over in Kuwait. I do share my mishaps, because isn't that what life is all about? Nothing is ever perfect, and we have the opportunity to grow from our mistakes and help others along the way
Hi Sandra, Thank you for having a class for our veterans. We all need to honor their service so we can have our freedom. Thank you to all veterans. Bless you all.
I'm sorry Sandra, but I think you've gone bonkers. Your flowers are lovely. I wouldn't change a thing. I really like and appreciate this painting. Thank you for sharing.
it is not only that I love your art and how beautiful it comes out ... I also like that your not wasting product I see a lot of videos where they let all that product go to waste
I love your style. I love your paintings over swipes and love love love your message. Live with our flaws, and idiosyncrasies, we are not perfect. Thanks Sandra Lett.
LOL Sandra! I have to agree with everyone else in the comments section! It's not that I don't appreciate that you have perfectionistic tendencies toward your own work (I really know what that feels like!), but I think sometimes you have to get out of your own way! HAHA! You have a great attitude and I think you're bold and courageous to put yourself out there for the world to see! I LOVE that you confess that you've made a mistake or did something that you hadn't meant to do. That's what makes you do endearing and genuine! Truth is that God has blessed you with a wonderful talent, and we get to see you blossom further into what He has meant for you to be! We are learning and growing right along with you. 🤗💃🦋🏵🌹🌺🥀🌷Thank you for being authentically honest with us. You are truly a blessing. Oh, and by the way, I really love the way this piece turned out! Please let us see it again after it's dried and varnished? Thank you!!!💜💜💜
Thank you so much Sue. The actual pictures are always the dried pictures at the end of my video... so that is the dried look. I did not varnish this one. It sold in my live auction this past Sunday and it is mailed off. It had a slightly satin finish when it dried.
Wow. You were hard on that painting! There were many points where I would have been happy if you stopped, but you kept adding. I really like your whimsical, Disneyesque flowers. They are cute and original. If you had stopped right after the swipe, I would have been happy too. It was a beautiful swipe, and I loved the fact it was pink. That was a fun video and you made a happy painting.
You are a perfectionist. The total of your painting is awesome! I liked where you added the black and green to your leaves at the bottom too. It tied it up perfectly. I'm glad you didn't redo the flowers. The way you were talking I'm thinking, noooo, it all fits perfectly.
Too FUNNYI stayed up ALL night last night, attempting something very similar (shocking pink Shasta daisies) for a friend. I actually came up with something lovely, and the BRIGHTEST colors I’d ever used in one painting... BUT, I’m a “newbie” and still haven’t learned the most DIFFICULT lessons of all - STOP and walk away, lol! Since it was not exactly as it was in my vision, I erased it. If I had saved until today, I’d have given it as a heartfelt and beautiful gift in an instant. You’re my “sign” today, lol! Very NICE and THANK YOU for sharing! I’m going to have another go at it, and whatever ends up on canvas STAYS 😊❤️!
Thank you Kim! Yes... we have to remember it is, after all, a fluid painting! It is not supposed to be "real" ... it can have an abstract feel and that is just fine!
You take an example and make it your own. You wouldn't want to exactly copy someone else's idea. Then you could only say this is a copy of so and so's painting. Now you can say, I took someone's idea and made it my own. You own this painting and it is beautiful!
You may not like the top flowers, but these colors are amazing and they give you a happy feeling. You still do awesome at making the paint do what you want....I love your flaws and all....would like to see you do these flowers again without blowing, I still think they are pretty anyway !!!
Sandra this is so pretty I am so glad you have been doing these videos. I really want to try this. I was afraid of using the silicone but I think I’m going to give it a try. This is stunning

GORGEOUS!!! Gonna try this one tonight. Love everything about this even tho your vision was different. Tried the chain pull it was ok, my first chain was just too lite, got a bigger linked one and that worked out better..wanna try a large dog chain sometime n see how that turns out. This is endless fun and experimentation.

Thank you so much Glenda... this just came up in my notifications. I hope you are doing well. I am finally out of the trenches from Covid. Its been a long slow few weeks
I absolutely loved how it turned out Sandra and I love how you can fix just about anything that you think needs fixed I was sure glad you did not start over. And I love your philosophy
You know Sandra I tried to send you 2 pics of tropical flowers when I lived in Miami one tree flowered and fall one tree flowered in Spring they're the craziest looking flowers you ever saw in your life and one of them looks exactly like your flowers that you think are messed up unfortunately they're stuck in my old Samsung Infuse that doesn't work anymore and I have no way to get all my pictures off of that phone I've tried and tried I took it to AT&T they couldn't help me either so I'm so sorry you'll just have to take my word for it LOL
I love that you combine swipes with some more controlled art. I am an artist with a recent interest in pouring, but also want to bring in some fine art work in the paintings. Thanks for the inspiration! Do you go thru a thorough cleaning of the silicone off the dry work before adding varnish?
Thank you Karen. Yes I clean off canvas with damp paper towel and Dawn dish liquid.. lightly suds it up and wipe down a few times with clean damp paper towels.
I love your style, thanks for the inspiration! I want to order your little squeeze bottles but I don’t see a link , maybe because I use an iPad... could you please tell me exactly where to find it? Not technologically clever...
Your flower are lovely, I have found when I am not Happy with some thing I just leave it and next day for some reason it looks not as bad . Love your channels💕❤️💕
Yes. I have a needle tip that you can screw on any 2 oz acrylic bottle of craft paint. It works fabulous for really fine lines. I use it more often now
Hi Sandra again. You mention that you wait 72 hrs to varnish. Do you need to clean the silicon before that? if you do, how do you do it? if not, it will excellent. If not, what varnish do you use?
Thank you.. yes. Any silicone or OGX in your paints. It does need to be cleaned off. I use Dawn dish liquid and a damp paper towel. Lightly suds it up. And then with clean damp cloth. Clean off soapy residue. Make sure it's very dry. If it's a small piece under 10-12 inches you can spray with a gloss varnish. But my go to varnish for over a year or more is by far Liquitex high gloss varnish and a sponge brush (multiple light coats... quickly and wait at least 3 hours between coats). Its a watery varnish and I've had the best luck with it. The cheapest I have found is on Amazon. I get the 32 oz which will varnish many canvases. www.amazon.com/dp/B0038L15U2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_.37GEbKRK3VCW
I think the flowers look lovely in their execution. Wondering if what you don’t like about it is the composition. There are three flowers in a row, in upper left all same height, size, shape, etc.
Sandra don’t wipe it off. I am so pleased with it because my granddaughter wants a pink and gold type painting and no one does pink so I haven’t found one she will like. She is in college. Thank you
I liked your painting. I just started pour painting and I want to say this one that you dislike looks so much better than anything I have created so far. You are too critical of yourself.
Thank you Susan.. I have been a realistic artist for about 20 years... so I just mumble if it's not going the way I envision. I always leave it though... it is what it has become! I still love it!
Can you do a chain pull on a completed dry painting, I know that you will know. I enjoy your videos so much. I feel like I have gotten the courage to try techniques because of watching you.
Yes you could. I would imagine you could even put a light coat of a clear gel medium or floetrol (which should dry clear) and do the string pull thing through that for the slide "factor"
Sandra I did my first attempt on this technique and I used Zinsser as pouring medium. After tha swipe when I tried to add some flowers , the top was all oily or water as I never used water to thin paints and flowers didn't come out good , second time I used Elmers glue all and couple drops of silicon in each paint , but little water also and the result was same watery top which made blowing flowers hard. Can you tell me is it normal or I made some mistake.
It sounds like maybe you are mixing your paint too thin. I do not use glue... because I sell any painting I may do. And not sure how well the Zinsser conditioner works with it... I will have to see if I can find any here locally and try it out. But yes.. if it is too watery... it bleeds out and you lose your shapes
It can be butcher paper (which is the Jack Richeson butcher paper in my Amazon link below all my videos where it says SHOW MORE), parchment paper, photo paper, plastic tablecloths from the dollar store work well too!
Sandra, I think Gracie is asking what you do with the drippings (paint skins) after they're dry. You have mentioned making jewelry with them. I think we'd all love to see some examples of that. Gracie, I hope I understood you correctly. Thanks
Yes... it actually is my intention with any fluid painting... to be more abstract. Because I am a realistic painter, by nature. It forces me to "let go"
I can tell you are an artist and not just an average paint pourer because you are VERY particular. Your work is beautiful and you think it isn't. You are wonderful and talented. I LOVE your work.
Thank you so much Terry!

Thanks
Actually I think it turned out nicely. It's as if your intention from the beginning was an abstract painting.
Yes... it actually is my intention with any fluid painting... to be more abstract. Because I am a realistic painter, by nature. It forces me to "let go"
A very wise woman once told that nothing in nature is perfect. It was my aunt and she was teaching me how to make roses out of porcelain slip.
Thank you Cathy! We artists are always hard on ourselves. Lol!
