I always LOVE coming across peoples first ractions to Ado (pronounced "ah-doe). Wikipedia may say JPop, but tbh she's her own genre. Her voice is super diverse and I've never heard a vocalist so good at conveying raw emotion, her voice can be straight up visceral. I HIGHLY recommend her cover of Crime & Punishment. She pours so much emotion into it it's insane. Other great songs include Show, Tot Musica, Odo, Readymade, Fleeting Lullaby, and of course her debut song Useewa (a protest anthem about Japanese culture and expectations). There's also her cover of God-ish, where it sounds like multiple people singing but it's all her singing in different voices. Or if you want something more chill, Overdose shows off her deeper voice a bit closer to her normal tone, and All Night Radio is just cozy. Ado is a hell of ride, you can't wrong with any song her voice is on. Easily my all time favorite vocalist.

Ado didn’t just have her song used in the One Piece movie Red. She played a singing character (she’s the singing voice not the normal voice actor) and she has multiple songs in that movie. All amazing. All different genres with them being more towards a more pop sound with the exception of a couple like Tot Musica. That song is frickin intense. I suggest checking that one out cause it blew me away in the movie. There is a MV for it so you should be able to react to that (copyright might be a thing for it. Don’t know. Most reactors seem to be fine with the MVs made for the movie songs but I guess just exercise your own caution 😊)
it's really hard to describe which genre japanese popular songs are fell into. since most of their popular songs these days (the last 5-6 years) are on the experimential-fusion of many genres that created each of the artist's distinguished sound.
At ONE OK ROCK, I highly recommend paper planes (in Japan) Saitama Super Arena live. It was a while ago, but now you can see interesting taka that you can hardly see✨I won't make you regret it.😂
Every song by Ado sounds like it's a different person singing because they're so different from each other, and like 80% of her songs you couldn't imagine anyone else singing them because they're completely insane (this one does not count as insane, you can understand the progression pretty easily). The thing that ties most of her art together is that she's insane. I've never heard an artist like this.
People always wonder if the not showing yourself thing is a gimmick, but I think it’s more like Mitch Hedberg hiding behind sunglasses, or Maynard loving to stick in the shadows, it’s an accommodation for *them* , something that assuages their social anxiety enough that they’re still able to perform live for their fans who love live performances. Some artists can’t dance and just sit on stage to be able to perform, like, I just see it as a means to an end to *do* the performance and not something they’re trying to make a point with, it just stands out by contrast to norms, and they just try to embrace it

I recommended this song a couple of days ago because it blew me away a few weeks ago when I first heard it. It has so much emotion in her vocals that hit me in the feels every time I hear it. Her name Ado is pronounced Ah-Doh like ah go. She is touring the US and I think she’s doing a show near me in Cedar Park, Texas hockey stadium, minor league hockey and basketball teams play there. Hopefully I can go see and hear that fantastic show with crazy light show and incredible vocals.

There isn’t many times the cover is better than the original…and there’s not many times the live is better than the studio version. This is one where both are better!
The Japanese music scene isn't nearly as concerned with sticking to well-defined genres. Also, what's POPular over there is pretty different to what we would consider "pop" 😉. I'm actually not the biggest fan of this performance. Her voice is incredible and I love other Ado tracks, I just feel like this performance was a little too uncontrolled and random. It's probably because I'm such a fan of the original by TK, which is very tightly-controlled and intentional.
I am Japanese. I don't think it is a gimmick for Ado to not show herself. In Japan, there was a tendency to pay more attention to the looks of Japanese female singers. The pritter and cuter the singer looked, more popular she became as a Japanese female "idol" in Japan. Ado originally started as a Japanese pop idol, but now she just wants to be known for her music rather than her looks.
I actually prefer the original by TK quite alot to Ado. This is especially true for her studio (not live version like the one you watched here) version which i very much preferred the original. But this live version has the best scream out of every version of Unravel i have heard. That was incredible and was the part of her rendition that gave me chills, very well done.

I recommended this song a couple of days ago because it blew me away a few weeks ago when I first heard it. It has so much emotion in her vocals that hit me in the feels every time I hear it. Her name Ado is pronounced Ah-Doh like ah go. She is touring the US and I think she’s doing a show near me in Cedar Park, Texas hockey stadium, minor league hockey and basketball teams play there. Hopefully I can go see and hear that fantastic show with crazy light show and incredible vocals.

If Ussaawa were pronounced correctly by English speakers, it would be Woo-say-wha. It is slang for "shut up".
The Japanese music scene isn't nearly as concerned with sticking to well-defined genres. Also, what's POPular over there is pretty different to what we would consider "pop" 😉.
I'm actually not the biggest fan of this performance. Her voice is incredible and I love other Ado tracks, I just feel like this performance was a little too uncontrolled and random. It's probably because I'm such a fan of the original by TK, which is very tightly-controlled and intentional.
I am Japanese. I don't think it is a gimmick for Ado to not show herself. In Japan, there was a tendency to pay more attention to the looks of Japanese female singers.
The pritter and cuter the singer looked, more popular she became as a Japanese female "idol" in Japan. Ado originally started as a Japanese pop idol, but now she just wants to be known for her music rather than her looks.

I actually prefer the original by TK quite alot to Ado. This is especially true for her studio (not live version like the one you watched here) version which i very much preferred the original. But this live version has the best scream out of every version of Unravel i have heard. That was incredible and was the part of her rendition that gave me chills, very well done.
