Honest Finance even if the insecurity at the beginning is incredibly stressful and scary I definitely recommend being your own boss if you can! My husband and I are so lucky to be both bosses of our own companies and we get to spend a lot more quality time together than when I was working for someone else. To me It’s absolutely worth the leap of faith and all the hard work!

Awesome! If you can support your entire family, this is all the motivation I need to support myself and my teen kids. I can do this...thank you for the inspiration... especially after a bad day at work today. My issue is that my job takes up so much of my time and hard to work on my business. I would love to see a video about how to leave corporate America to pursue my business. I am a single mom and it's all up to me to food on the table, I can't exactly quit my job yet. I feel trapped and when I am at work my mind is on my business. It's like a trap. Have a great time in Europe, and hopefully you can do a video soon on how to escape Corporate America when you are relying on your full-time job.
I love it when I meet like-minded individuals, because you can connect with them and understand one another really well.
This is really inspirational! I am just starting to branch out in diversifying my income and I have high hopes when I hear about how it has really worked well for other people! :)

This is my goal also. When you are traveling I would like to see both about the sights, restaurants,etc and how you work abroad. That would be both informative and fun! Safe travels!

Yes I want to see how you work abroad as you travel most. What you have to do for each business in detail. How you started each business and daily details of managing businesses taxes phone calls from abroad etc ... logistics

I’m on the same path that you’ve been (specially in the beginning it sounded like you were describing my life lol), the only differences are that I am in the beginning of my journey on UA-cam, I also don’t know exactly what my niche is yet...I love to do so many things, but I do work from home, I have 2 babies also (so I totally can relate when you mentioned to be hard to get things done with the kids home, but...I still want to do it, and also I’m going to homeschool our kids, so...help!?!), but my husband can’t wait to exchange his 9-5 job to be an entrepreneur/work from home as well. We just right now need still his income to sustain ourselves. I can’t wait to check more of your material and learn more from your experience. Thanks again!
Beth Bueno experiencing things on UA-cam will allow you to find your niche one day. See what subject you absolutely love and start there. It's a struggle sometimes but as you go you will see works and what doesn't work for you.
Hi Beth, thanks for sharing! I'm actually homeschooling my kids too. :)
Just remember, you can choose a niche for your UA-cam channel, and it doesn't have to be forever. You can just try focusing on one thing for 3 months, and see if it's a good fit and if you're able to get traction.
It doesn't have to be forever, but until you choose SOMETHING to focus on it's going to be really tough to attract an audience, because you won't be able to convey to them why they should subscribe (and if you don't even know, then they definitely won't). :)

Thanks for sharing your experiences Gillian ! I have been following along for a while and it is nice to hear that you were able to retire your husband from his full-time job. I learned a long while ago that creating multiple streams of income is the way to go.
I now have a profitable side hustle which is around 50-60% of my take home income as a biomedical researcher. I am in the process of learning how to scale it so that it can fully replace my full-time income so we can also do some of the things you shared in the video - going to the park on a Wednesday sounds like heaven. Haha.

It is hard to not feel overwhelmed when you have a lot of streams of income and have to put in effort to keep all of them profitable. I have five different sources of income consistently, and a few others occasionally.
i want to see how this is done. i am really hoping to do the same thing for my life. i didn't have a lot of support from my family about my income so i am ready to hear what you have to say
I would love to see videos about working while abroad. I follow a lot of travel channels already so while I'd love to see some of that incorporated into your videos, that's not what I'm subscribed to your channel for.

What I like about your channel(and that sets you apart from others) is that all your videos are informative and useful for the audience, rather than just showcasing your life aimlessly. My point is if you want to add traveling videos then please dont just add some random recording of restaurant you guys went to(i mean we have so many friends on fb who do that all the time and we dont even have time to check that ;) ). In every video of yours a purpose and some key info about self growth is expected and that has become your USP and brand identity. Do not dilute it. Please start another a bit personal channel. Personally i always wondered what your personal life would be. I would be one of the first one to subscribe to that channel. And you can have a complete different set of youtube ads to target on that channel ;).

What do you mean when you say, “I was doing freelance work”. I never know what people mean when they say that! Can you be more specific?
Hi @Treasure Forever. Doing "freelance work" refers to an individual who provides services independently, as a contractor, and who is not employed under a working contract. The types of services that freelancers provide are very diverse. Please let me know if you'd like me to detail those for you as well. Happy to :)

Copywriting, content writing. She mentioned sales, advertising, and copywriting.
Anytime you read an advertisement or view an infomercial, you are witnessing copywriting in action.
Somebody puts those words on paper before they get approved to appear in the ad. Those are copywriters. You could also freelance write magazine articles, essays, etc.
Content writing is like copywriting for the net. The rules of best practices are a little different, but the goals are usually the same: to raise awareness about a cause, convert sales, etc.
Photographers also often freelance workers. You could be a wedding videographer or sell photos to stock photography sites. That sort of thing.
Anytime you get paid to do work as an individual, not as an employee of a specific company, you are freelancing.
The gig economy is based on freelancing. Uber drivers and Lyft are not employed by those companies - they don’t get regular paychecks from them every 2 weeks, or insurance, or medical benefits, but might be considered freelance drivers for those corporations.
I think it's important that people understand that freelance work and youtube work is not clean money. By clean money I mean that it is not tax free. The taxes associated can be hefty. People need to know how to budget and put money aside to pay those taxes. A lot of times a tax consultant or lawyer is needed. By all means do freelance and everything else but be very careful not to spend all the money and forget about taxes because that can become a huge issue very quickly.

What do you do for health insurance?
Travel vlogs that show the places you visit + incorporating a few entrepreneur tips and how you balance everything while on vacation would be really neat! You could talk about things like cyber security/encryption, portable hardware that you use while traveling, how you plan a fun day but still get lots of work done, timezone differences and clients....etc... I hope you have a fun and safe trip!
