I do like these, I have to say that. It's a really wobbly tower, some bells are quite badly affected by it (I seem to recall the 3 is a bit of a piggy), but just keep them to the balance and pull them through, they are fine!
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it. Yes I like the angle, was pleased with how it came out. And it was a really enjoyable quarter, really good to listen to, especially once we'd restarted and sped up a little. And I am in it!! I bagged myself the treble!! :-D
Woops, "forgot" to edit out what was rubbish later!! :P DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility for anyone becoming sick because of Mister Moulder's antics from 0:51 onwards!!
I have been here and rung the bells myself. They have a lot of character and I also went up to the belfry to see the bells and wow, are they big!!!! I turned the 6th over before and rang a method on the front 6 and that was the heaviest I had ever rung!!!
@@simonbellringer I normally ring in St Andrew's in Heddington. They are a nice ring of 6 in G at around 8 hundredweight. Not as much tower sway as Calne though!!!
Correct - that's been on the cards for a while, I think. I will be sad - but I think I will be in a minority then. Heaven knows Wiltshire needs another ten!
I'm ringing there next friday and I heard the tower is really wobbly
Sounds nice

Nice one Simon. Nicely rung. Interesting angle; good to see all the ropes so we can follow the action. And your in it!

By the way Ben, was it you that won the SDGR young ringers' award recently? Very many congratulations, if it was! :-)
@@simonbellringer Ah! Yes that was me! Thank you.

Dude, I brung the party!!
Just because I have one!! -_-
Good, arent they :-)
I've heard that they are hoping to make these a ten in hopefully the next few years!!

@@simonbellringer Yes... Wiltshire could do with another 10. At the moment it only has one peal of 10 bells and one of 12 bells!!
@@BellringerBen two tens - Swindon and Edington. One twelve - Trowbridge
@@simonbellringer Yep!😃 A fair few eights and sixes but eight is the common amount I think...
