Hi. Thanks for the great video, the timing is absolutely perfect, since I bought one myself. Is it just plug and play, or do I need to make some routing changes. I have bought the exact same radio and 2-DIN plate.
If you just want to use the front speakers then it is plug and play but if you are installing rear speakers like it did then you will need to add the rear speaker wires in and crimp them. Also the power cables need to be swapped around (Think its blue and Yellow) for the head unit to keep the radio presets and time memorised.

What I did was cut off all the connections and manually crimped them together, Im not too sure of other ways to install. I connected all the speaker wires and then the blue power cable I connected to the yellow power cable from the stereo and the yellow power cable from car to red power cable from the stereo and the negative wire too..that worked for me

You can always just buy a wiring loom and just plug in so you don’t have to cut into the wires.. obviously if you don’t have existing rear speakers these will need new wires

Im sure it is possible just needs the small screen to be taken out..a little more work but definitely worthwhile. This is my project car, hopefully some time in the future I will be upgrading again to a 10.1 full tablet screen. Will post when I finally begin the work

Hi, I’m completely new to any kind of wiring and I will be honest I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing lol. I’m assuming when crimping you’re connecting them to the existing wires but how and where? I have absolutely no idea what to do in this situation lmao and I was just wondering if you could help me?
Hi, you don’t have to splice the wires you can purchase a wiring loom for your car from Halfords or online to connect with your stereo. Its a more easier way and looks more tidy. I didn’t have a wiring loom and went ahead with the crimping cos 1) I was impatient and didn’t want to wait for the loom and 2) I had an understanding of the wires and was comfortable cutting and connecting the wires.

hi .. recently fitted very similar double Din in C1 .. stereo screen stays on after ignition switched off .. any tips or solutions??
Did your previous stereo also stay on after ignition switched off? If not then check all the wires with a tester with ignition on and off and find the cable that only powers on with ignition.

They are 4” (10cm) speakers. Not really good at all even if you upgrade. Thats why I installed 6x9’s too

Yeah if wired in you can..yeah the opening is for a standard 7” (double din) stereo. It has a surrounding that you can fit on if you do have slight gaps it will fill it up..mine didn’t need the surrounding the stereo fitted in perfectly
There’s no other way to do not cut that grey on the center? Its need really to be cut?? I have 2 din MP5 too but I’m afraid to cut anything

Yes the screen allows bluetooth connection and has a GPS input jack at the back but when looking through the jack hole it looks like there is nothing actually there! I use any GPS type of activity via my phone through apple carplay and use the bluetooth which is automatic connection for when I only want to listen to music. Hope this helps, I provided a link for the stereo below however, the price has increased quite a bit not too sure its worth £60

Hey mate are you happy with that car? Im about to buy a C1, 107 or Aygo next month, bc it’s very cheap in insurance, fuel consumption and taxes. How about the seats? I heard that they are uncomfortable
I have sold the car and brought a classic honda CRX now. This car was absolutely amazing, fuel consumption is amazing, seats are comfortable but this was my second car for only local runs and shopping runs. As a main car on long runs on the motorway it probably isn’t ideal but for a city car you really cant go wrong. The icing on the cake is the car is very easy to work on, everything is accessible and all parts are cheap to buy. I say defo get it if you need it for the town mainly and not for long motorway drives. Try and get the model with A/C and other comforts on offer. I have driven this car from London to Bournemouth without any issues, can get s little slow going up hills and overtaking at motorway speeds isn’t the quickest but in terms of comfort it doesn’t have luxuries but it isn’t uncomfortable
perfectly described! For city commuting is perfect. Even for long trips there is no issue when the car if full loaded with people and baggages! Most important, its a really reliable car!

Maybe something has been left inside. Try taking the stereo out and having a look to see any loose objects

Sorry for late reply, you can buy a loom that will connect from stereo to car. Yes its the two power cables that need to be cut and switched over from memory I think it was blue and yellow but not too sure..sorry😳

So sorry for late reply..hadn’t realised how many views and comments this video has generated. I just searched double din car play stereo in eBay and searched for the cheapest one, Ali Express has it cheaper but I wanted eBays money back guarantee
I just can't find that double din and housing, not even on Ebay.
They have only the 10" and that looks too ugly.

Hey, This is amazing. I wanted to know where you bought the kit from. I am looking in amazon UK and can't find the kit that also has the plastic cut out for the dashboard.
I think usually you buy the front bit (it’s called a fascia) separately. It doesn’t tend to cost much more though. You can get them pretty easily on eBay.

It’s not necessary to cut wires, you can buy a wiring loom for your car. Yes if it is not keeping your settings memorised you just swap the constant power and ignition power over

You can just plug and play, the attachment supplied fit into the car. I cut the attachment because I wanted to install rear speakers, as for the memory of the stereo if it doesn’t keep the radio stations in memory then you will have to swap the red with the blue (I think thats the colour combo) I needed to do that for the memory.
