Saman karte hai alm mubark or tajiye pe fulhar lagate hai sab log niyaj khate hai sab kuch karte hai hamare gav me 18 jati ke log baste hai usme se sirf ek jat sunni. Vo nahi manti imam husain ko baki 17 jati ke log mohoram mana te bhi hai or ye bhi kahete hai ke hamare bhi hai ya husain.

It's their way of expressing their tribute for Moharram. Atleast better than those who don't expect after being born as a Muslim. It may be mix of Indian Gujrati culture on the pattern of Dandia. This is the beauty of our Country India. Yes what ever knowledge they have about Moharram they are doing it accordingly. Let us not look things always as wrong. Let us see their passion for Moharram. I will say better than those who know the history of Islam and still don't the tragedy of Karbala.

V mourn only for died one, shuhada r not dead they r alive, so v true muslims never ever mourn for shuhada, there r certain duas ,one must listen r recite, fast on 9th, 10th of muharram, give alms to needy people, distribute sharbat on 10th moharram. Prophet mourn for His first wife Bibi Khatija s.a and dearest uncle Hazrat Abu Talib a.s for 1 year he named that year Amul Huzun Mourning Year. You said Hussain a.s is not dead we also believe the same he was killed in battle filed. So he became Martyr. But do you know when Hussain as was alive in childhood prophet used to mourn for his future martyrdom??? If you do not know go and get some knowledge about. This sunnah is prophet sunnah to mourn for Hussain a.s and his martyrdom.

The thing is everyone/ people from different cast religions and community remember Imam Hussain during 9th n 10 th moharram and every one has different way of expressing it. If you know some lucknow and kachi people do go in circles and do matam. And the drum in background use to be old way of bring attention of people for announcements. So basically they r beating drum n doing faryad(noha & Matam). May Allah improve us (Shias) and give knowledge and tazheeb to do in best way( the way moula Hussain wants us to do). They are celebrating like that cause they are converts and hence don't kno 💯 about those stuff resulting in a mixture of Gujarati Garba culture. The same can be seen in the wedding customs as well. They do Dandiya and Garba before Nikah time and other Gujarati culture reflexes can be seen in their celebration as well. It's more like a culture than religion.
