Now, I have done a lot of research into hiking boots, military boots and tactical boots, but I have not heard of Vasque brand before. I did not expect much from these, but I was pleasantly surprised!
First of all, the comfort! To me, it is one of the most important aspects, especially when it comes to your survival boot. These boots are very comfortable to run, walk in and wear for extended periods of time. For this Vasque hiking boots review I did a 3 mile run and a 5 mile walk. Probably total of about 4-5 hours of wearing these boots. Great comfort! Compared to Salomons, these are a bit heavier... but only a little!
Also, I was impressed by the sole. The sole is pretty good for many different applications.
I think one of the biggest downsides of these boots is the price. The size 10 on Amazon is currently $147. Some other sizes are cheaper though, so definitely check it out.Are these the best hiking boots? Well, so far, to me, of everything that I have tested, they are definitely up there on the list of the top best hiking boots. Not only that, I also think they belong at close to the top of best survival boots list!

the vibram sole was to slippery on slick surfaces

These are advertised as soft enough to wear out of the box. This is absolutely FALSE. Foolishly wore these on a 10k 3000ft elevation hill walk yesterday, had severe blisters on the heels from about 2k in. Hopefully they will break in nicely going forward, but if you research online I'd say about 40% of reviews have problems with these boots being severely uncomfortable
