Thanks for sharing how it really is the process. I often see videos where puppies work incredible and we all know that's not 100% real. Congrats on this series!
Kelly is a month older than my Pup "Ace". Your other series with Rocky got me started with the Akin dvds. This is really nice to have a guide while I work my pup. Kelly looks awesome!
Good stuff , glad you did this it will help us a lot to train our dog , nice to see your from Cali too. We are up in shasta. Keep the videos coming. 👍🏽
Yessssss!!! The difference between gun conditioning and loud noise desensitization! Not one in the same. Great job guys. Looking forward to seeing Kelly progress.
I'm loving going back and watching all these dog training videos. I grew up with all labs and now have a new goldendoodle. Not the best breed for hunting but I'm excited to see what I can do with her, and these videos are helping alot!
My sister had a pure bred chocolate lab. She was gun trained naturally. She never was used for hunting but we would shoot shot guns frequently. And if she was in the house she would go bazerk barking till someone let her out. She watch the direction u shot and would go bring the wad back to you. It was very neat to watch her smell the wad out the. Bring it back. She did the same thing with bottle rockets.
I’ve had buddies with dogs that are gun shy and it’s very difficult to train that out of them. I’ve been real fortunate that the gun noises didn’t phase my dogs right from the get go.
When I trained my dog I was told to take him out in country and take his food put the food in bowl walk off about 100 ft shoot a couple times while he was eating and then next time I got closer to him I tell the last time I was right next to him it worked great !
Sorry, but I think you are rushing here. She is not super geeked about the retrieve. I wait until that is crystal clear (and sorry, it is not crystal clear). When they are absolutely locked on the bumper and very consistently going, picking up, and returning do I start the gun. I also don't start with a 12 ga...why would you? Poppers or 410 are better. I also never end the starting session right on top of the dog...again a couple shots from remote (which you do nicely at the start), observer the reaction (also nicely done )and call it good. Maybe you combined sessions via edit but for most ams with a 4 month old pup and an ok but no jacked retrieve, shooting a 12 right next to them seems to be moving fast. I waited until after 6 months and ffetch to shoot over my latest 8 month old. He was obsessed with the retieve at that point.

For a video so good I'm surprised it does not have more than 3⁶(3 to the power of 6)× 284 likes
How old was she when you introduced her to gun shots
Where in California do y'all live? I like the hats and hoodies when will they be back in stock?
Central Valley. Hopefully soon
you are using blanks not poppers so they are going to be every bit as loud as a live round.
What if it phases them a little at that distance at the end?
Than you just move back and work your way in again
Привет в каком штате Вы живёте?
