    its amazing how relaxed roger looks in this match compared to when he plays nadal.he doesnt even look like he is trying here but when he plays nadal he tries to go for too much or too little and makes a ridiculous amount of unforced errors,ones he would never make otherwise.and its not the kind of errors thats made because of the way nadal is playing.its his own forehand and backhand that misses easy shots

    it's amazing how much Delpo improved his game and took the US Open. Reminds me of Djoker when he improved so much in one year and won the Aussie. We all know how that's turned out so far. Federer = GOAT.

    del potro got schooled big time that night
    was quite like roger saying "ok so you won a few smaller tournaments last season but still way to go if you wanna play with the big guys pal" lol
    but you can tell by their semifinal match at RG this year that del potro really took that lesson to heart. hes come a long way. i think hes actually one of the very few people who could even dare hope beating roger at a grand slam

    Federer won 13 straight games against a top 6 player in Del Potro in a QF of a Grand Slam and only surrendered 3 games this entire match. I mean, I can't even believe that to this day. It's absurd.
    He was absolutely MONEY in this match.

    His 1st serve percentage was low vs. Murray, but he only lost like 4 1st serve points the whole match to Murray. He won like 92% first serve points on 54% first serve percentage. You're hard to beat when you do that even with a low 1st serve percentage.

    @VictorIRONMAIDEN666 federer was playing great tennis, during the 2009 AO, federer played 1 bad set, which was the deciding 5th set, with nadal..other than that, he was playing very well, during the course of the tournament, this match and the match with roddick, are a testament to roger´s form at the time.

    If only Federer played this relaxed against nadal... his head is in the right place and he pulls off the good shots. Federer has created this monster which says 'I should win' but when it he doesn't his game breaks down. Federer should relax and play his game... he is the best, but loses to nadal because of his own self disbelief.

    nadal or federer seems to be such a common dispute, but honestly, after this video, how can you possibly like nadal more? i think nadal IS better and i also think nadal will retire with MORE slams then federer, but the shots that this man comes up with are just insane, unthinkable, amazing to watch. waiting for nadals opponent to net a ball is a whole lot less entertaining

    @andresdanielkelly simply because if youve watched both of them play for a long time federer can just produce the better tennis.
    the fact that he has trouble bringing it to the court against nadal doesnt change anything about federers top level of play still being way ahead of nadals. i have yet to see nadal play the kind of tennis that roger has shown lots of times in many matches. like the one against del potro here

    I have asked this question before and i will ask it again, who is the artist behind this song? It seems unfair that after writting you on youtube that you would still not give me an answer to this question. If she is an unknown artist, at least give her some credit if you plan to use her material in your video. Its only fair... Great music, could do with buying her album though. I know most youtube visitors love rock, but i find this refreshing and more appropriate for this video.

    2. nadal has always had the psychological advantage for leading the head to head. and he did so right from the start because in the beginning of their rivalry when federer was in his prime they only ever met on clay since nadal didnt make it to the big finals on the other surfaces. like 10 of their first 12 meetings were on clay, where nadal actually IS the better player imo. clay only
    psychology is a big factor in tennis. it usually helps federer but not in this case..

    3. over the last years the conditions everywhere in the world have changed massively in nadals favor. not intentionally of course but it plays into his cards big time that conditions got slowed down to have players go for longer rallies that would attract new audiences. with nadals playstyle he would not have won wimbledon 5-10 years ago. and other tournaments too
    federer is the most complete player alltogether. nadal says so himself
    greatest player makes the game look easy

  • @nipal1234
    @nipal1234 15 років тому

    i disagree. He is very complete, but the thing is, his game style is perfect for federer and when he is playing like this what can you posibly do about that?

  • @XrenegadeZ

    He lost to Nadal mentally and Physically. Two things work very well against federer which is hitting balls consistently to his backhand (something Nadal does so efficiently) and LASTLY not giving him enough time to float around the court (Again, Nadal does that very well by being aggressive and chasing after every ball).

      James Patt yeah man, coming back from a break down in the 5th set in arguably the single most important match in the history of the game shows how little mental strength he has. fucking moron.

    • @nvm1636
      @nvm1636 7 років тому

      James Patt and i guess the amount of times federer has had huge devasting losses only to go on dominate more. 2009 arguably his most heartbreaking loss at the ao, what does he do? Wins the next 2 slams.

  • @AlphaDraconis7
    @AlphaDraconis7 15 років тому

    If Federer played like this all the time...then tennis would be over as a "competitive" sport...
    The fact is he doesn't...e.g. US OPEN 09' final vs. Del Potro..

  • @JustinHamstra1
    @JustinHamstra1 15 років тому

    its not fair to say del potro is poor..look at federer. when's he's on top of his game its impossible to cause damage to him and del potro was the unfortunate victim this time. he's picked other top players apart before, it's a matter of him playing his best tennis...

    thing is federer cannot play at his best when he plays nadal. seems like a mental thing. lol federer beating nadal in straight sets at french open... OK LOL

    • @nvm1636
      @nvm1636 7 років тому

      James Patt 4 in a row, and probably won the most important one of their whole career. But regardless, H2H isnt a viable measure of OVERALL greatness across a career you humongous git. Davydenko leads nadal 6-5, and 5-1 off clay. Is he a greater player than nadal? Fuck no! Greatness isnt defined just by H2H, rather your consistency and achievements across the ENTIRE field, across your entire career. You dont win grand slams just cos you have a positive head to head against someone. Get informed, learn the game properly, before making uneducated fucking retarted comments that demonstrate yourself as an absolute bellend with no knowledge.

  • @erbgorre
    @erbgorre 14 років тому

    @andresdanielkelly you realize you scored 0/3 correct on your first 3 points there right? lol
    you were close on the head to head tho ill give you that ;)
    but like i said the head to head doesnt mean nadal is the better player in general. federer has always struggled against nadal for a few reasons.
    1. its federers worst possible matchup considering palystyles. nadal plays the direct countertennis to federers. the extreme spin to his single handed backhand, being a "fake" lefty, and the likes..

    It's true that Del Potro has improved incredibly and is now a great player, but its also important to notice that federer was serving the worst in his entire career. (almost as many double faults as aces wtf?) and his backhand was just disgusting. (he framed 3 backhands in a row on del potro's serve once). i wanted federer to win, but Del Potro deserved it. I'm a die-hard 100% federer fan, but del potro just played better.

  • @VictorIRONMAIDEN666

    @doofynetgraouw In grass and in this type of court Nadal can't beat Federer at his best. When Federer is concentrated at most Nadal can't beat him. Just on clay.
    And in this Frenc Open if Federer did'nt lose his focus on crucial times he would won in 3 sets.
