its amazing how relaxed roger looks in this match compared to when he plays nadal.he doesnt even look like he is trying here but when he plays nadal he tries to go for too much or too little and makes a ridiculous amount of unforced errors, ones he would never make otherwise.and its not the kind of errors thats made because of the way nadal is playing.its his own forehand and backhand that misses easy shots
it's amazing how much Delpo improved his game and took the US Open. Reminds me of Djoker when he improved so much in one year and won the Aussie. We all know how that's turned out so far. Federer = GOAT.
it´s unbelievable how roger plays but now he´s getting older and older and he lost all the matches against nadal now but he´s still the master of tennis and he will ever be that!Roger4ever! Sorry for my english^^
del potro got schooled big time that night was quite like roger saying "ok so you won a few smaller tournaments last season but still way to go if you wanna play with the big guys pal" lol but you can tell by their semifinal match at RG this year that del potro really took that lesson to heart. hes come a long way. i think hes actually one of the very few people who could even dare hope beating roger at a grand slam
If you ever have any doubts about how good Fed is and was all you need to do is watch this video. Fed maybe past his prime but he is the best player EVER to play the game of tennis.
Federer won 13 straight games against a top 6 player in Del Potro in a QF of a Grand Slam and only surrendered 3 games this entire match. I mean, I can't even believe that to this day. It's absurd. He was absolutely MONEY in this match.
Roger I hope your blueprint gives the new generation of tennis your good sport and ethics in and out of the court. Tomorrow you'll make history. Let's go for Wimby too. and then you can retire if you want.
@chia1123 yes he lost to him in the US Open final - and that was actually his first loss against del potro ever (they had played like 6 before that meeting in the final)
His 1st serve percentage was low vs. Murray, but he only lost like 4 1st serve points the whole match to Murray. He won like 92% first serve points on 54% first serve percentage. You're hard to beat when you do that even with a low 1st serve percentage.
Good for Del Potro that he got his revenge against Federer because in this one he was annihilated - I guess that was not one of those Roger's games where everything goes perfect for him - In any case is always a pleasure to watch him play
@VictorIRONMAIDEN666 federer was playing great tennis, during the 2009 AO, federer played 1 bad set, which was the deciding 5th set, with nadal..other than that, he was playing very well, during the course of the tournament, this match and the match with roddick, are a testament to roger´s form at the time.
Only Nadal could beat a Federer at this level.. And only Federer could beat Nadal at his best .. That's what's great about these two ! I'im a huge Federer Fan and I'm watching this video like every week .. Unbelievable !
dont know who that is but roger has been without a coach for too long, look how consistent he as when he as coached by tony.but i must say when he worked with that guy before last year french, his game changed so much,he was almost unrecognizable.i hope this is a good thing
If only Federer played this relaxed against nadal... his head is in the right place and he pulls off the good shots. Federer has created this monster which says 'I should win' but when it he doesn't his game breaks down. Federer should relax and play his game... he is the best, but loses to nadal because of his own self disbelief.
@AndresRoddick1 hahahaha..he was poor del potro was completely humiliated this is the level roger plays at when he is 100% fit and healthy.i dont think i have ever seen a player being dismantled like this.i dont think i have ever or will ever see nadal play like this probably the most perfect match i have ever seen roger play
nadal or federer seems to be such a common dispute, but honestly, after this video, how can you possibly like nadal more? i think nadal IS better and i also think nadal will retire with MORE slams then federer, but the shots that this man comes up with are just insane, unthinkable, amazing to watch. waiting for nadals opponent to net a ball is a whole lot less entertaining
del potro looked a step and a half slower than usual too, and that also helped federer destroy him. yeh, just a bad day for del potro and federer played superbly and held his nerve really elegantly.
@andresdanielkelly simply because if youve watched both of them play for a long time federer can just produce the better tennis. the fact that he has trouble bringing it to the court against nadal doesnt change anything about federers top level of play still being way ahead of nadals. i have yet to see nadal play the kind of tennis that roger has shown lots of times in many matches. like the one against del potro here
simply the best. poor del potro. when federer is playing like that its impossible to win and delpo was the victim here...he wasnt even playing bad and he lost 3-6, 0-6, 0-6..
I have asked this question before and i will ask it again, who is the artist behind this song? It seems unfair that after writting you on youtube that you would still not give me an answer to this question. If she is an unknown artist, at least give her some credit if you plan to use her material in your video. Its only fair... Great music, could do with buying her album though. I know most youtube visitors love rock, but i find this refreshing and more appropriate for this video.
@andresdanielkelly 2. nadal has always had the psychological advantage for leading the head to head. and he did so right from the start because in the beginning of their rivalry when federer was in his prime they only ever met on clay since nadal didnt make it to the big finals on the other surfaces. like 10 of their first 12 meetings were on clay, where nadal actually IS the better player imo. clay only psychology is a big factor in tennis. it usually helps federer but not in this case..
actually federer has never beaten nadal at his best over 5 sets. last victory in a grand slam was in 2007 wimby when nadal was about 20 yrs old. only djokovic has ever been able to do that
@andresdanielkelly 3. over the last years the conditions everywhere in the world have changed massively in nadals favor. not intentionally of course but it plays into his cards big time that conditions got slowed down to have players go for longer rallies that would attract new audiences. with nadals playstyle he would not have won wimbledon 5-10 years ago. and other tournaments too federer is the most complete player alltogether. nadal says so himself greatest player makes the game look easy
i disagree. He is very complete, but the thing is, his game style is perfect for federer and when he is playing like this what can you posibly do about that?
He lost to Nadal mentally and Physically. Two things work very well against federer which is hitting balls consistently to his backhand (something Nadal does so efficiently) and LASTLY not giving him enough time to float around the court (Again, Nadal does that very well by being aggressive and chasing after every ball).
James Patt yeah man, coming back from a break down in the 5th set in arguably the single most important match in the history of the game shows how little mental strength he has. fucking moron.
James Patt and i guess the amount of times federer has had huge devasting losses only to go on dominate more. 2009 arguably his most heartbreaking loss at the ao, what does he do? Wins the next 2 slams.
If Federer played like this all the time...then tennis would be over as a "competitive" sport... The fact is he doesn't...e.g. US OPEN 09' final vs. Del Potro..
its not fair to say del potro is poor..look at federer. when's he's on top of his game its impossible to cause damage to him and del potro was the unfortunate victim this time. he's picked other top players apart before, it's a matter of him playing his best tennis...
thing is federer cannot play at his best when he plays nadal. seems like a mental thing. lol federer beating nadal in straight sets at french open... OK LOL
James Patt 4 in a row, and probably won the most important one of their whole career. But regardless, H2H isnt a viable measure of OVERALL greatness across a career you humongous git. Davydenko leads nadal 6-5, and 5-1 off clay. Is he a greater player than nadal? Fuck no! Greatness isnt defined just by H2H, rather your consistency and achievements across the ENTIRE field, across your entire career. You dont win grand slams just cos you have a positive head to head against someone. Get informed, learn the game properly, before making uneducated fucking retarted comments that demonstrate yourself as an absolute bellend with no knowledge.
@andresdanielkelly you realize you scored 0/3 correct on your first 3 points there right? lol you were close on the head to head tho ill give you that ;) but like i said the head to head doesnt mean nadal is the better player in general. federer has always struggled against nadal for a few reasons. 1. its federers worst possible matchup considering palystyles. nadal plays the direct countertennis to federers. the extreme spin to his single handed backhand, being a "fake" lefty, and the likes..
It's true that Del Potro has improved incredibly and is now a great player, but its also important to notice that federer was serving the worst in his entire career. (almost as many double faults as aces wtf?) and his backhand was just disgusting. (he framed 3 backhands in a row on del potro's serve once). i wanted federer to win, but Del Potro deserved it. I'm a die-hard 100% federer fan, but del potro just played better.
No it's not legal. If the ball comes in contact with any part of your body you lose the point. The ball is considered in on your side. Read the rules before you lecture others.
@doofynetgraouw In grass and in this type of court Nadal can't beat Federer at his best. When Federer is concentrated at most Nadal can't beat him. Just on clay. And in this Frenc Open if Federer did'nt lose his focus on crucial times he would won in 3 sets.
its amazing how relaxed roger looks in this match compared to when he plays nadal.he doesnt even look like he is trying here but when he plays nadal he tries to go for too much or too little and makes a ridiculous amount of unforced errors, ones he would never make otherwise.and its not the kind of errors thats made because of the way nadal is playing.its his own forehand and backhand that misses easy shots
you absolutely right ! he just showed godlike tennis in cinci this week. just amazing
it's amazing how much Delpo improved his game and took the US Open. Reminds me of Djoker when he improved so much in one year and won the Aussie. We all know how that's turned out so far. Federer = GOAT.
OMG, RF explored every angle in this match. Its like a demo of every cool shot in tennis.
it´s unbelievable how roger plays but now he´s getting older and older and he lost all the matches against nadal now but he´s still the master of tennis and he will ever be that!Roger4ever!
Sorry for my english^^
he was playing so well, and then lost to nadal, i was blown
del potro got schooled big time that night
was quite like roger saying "ok so you won a few smaller tournaments last season but still way to go if you wanna play with the big guys pal" lol
but you can tell by their semifinal match at RG this year that del potro really took that lesson to heart. hes come a long way. i think hes actually one of the very few people who could even dare hope beating roger at a grand slam
best video quality iv ever seen for tennis!
It's scary when he plays that good. It doesn't matter what you would do, it won't be good enough. Love you Roger
federer´s best match in 2009 so far! fantastic
2.09 is what separates Fed than rest. That is just ridiculously hard and he made it look simple..
he is not human.... perfect
Truer words are seldom spoken.
greatest ever to have played this sport!!
gracias!!
If you ever have any doubts about how good Fed is and was all you need to do is watch this video. Fed maybe past his prime but he is the best player EVER to play the game of tennis.
God at work on a tennis court !!! Roger is the best ever!!!
i don't think anyone in ATP can beat Juan in such a way...so crazy, just look at RF's racket ,with 90 inch still perform the beauty of tennis
hahahaha. you're brilliant and your instructor is a genius
Federer won 13 straight games against a top 6 player in Del Potro in a QF of a Grand Slam and only surrendered 3 games this entire match. I mean, I can't even believe that to this day. It's absurd.
He was absolutely MONEY in this match.
what a beautiful shot at 2:50
Roger I hope your blueprint gives the new generation of tennis your good sport and ethics in and out of the court. Tomorrow you'll make history. Let's go for Wimby too. and then you can retire if you want.
@chia1123 yes he lost to him in the US Open final - and that was actually his first loss against del potro ever (they had played like 6 before that meeting in the final)

the slice at 1:00 is one of the best i'm ever seen, pe RF fect
Hes just too good ;PP
The point was over, so It wasn't illegal. The ball bounced twice on del potro's side of the net, before federer headed the ball.
Good for Del Potro that he got his revenge against Federer because in this one he was annihilated - I guess that was not one of those Roger's games where everything goes perfect for him - In any case is always a pleasure to watch him play
Nothing to say ,,,
great performance from Roger ,,,
I hope he win US Open ,,,,
The previous music better ,,,
EXCELLENT
Haha getting del potro to hit slice backhands is a pretty big achievement in itself.
@VictorIRONMAIDEN666 federer was playing great tennis, during the 2009 AO, federer played 1 bad set, which was the deciding 5th set, with nadal..other than that, he was playing very well, during the course of the tournament, this match and the match with roddick, are a testament to roger´s form at the time.
whoaaa he used his head for the smash! incrediblee
That's why he is the best :)
2:08 is just perfection,
god if you only lose 3 games to a guy like del potro, who was already a top 10 player at the time, you know you're the best who ever played the sport
@cralung How was he shots working well??? Most of the shots he made aimed directly into the center of the court right into Roger Federer...
Wow hes so good, hes great, just simply amazing...using his head at 3:45
@ghfreakwierdo123 It doesn't say set point it says 3 break points. it's just the first game of the second set.
It's amazing how passively Federer played to give that match away. He hit 0 forehand winners in 1.5-2 sets.
loved u'r comment man.
Only Nadal could beat a Federer at this level.. And only Federer could beat Nadal at his best .. That's what's great about these two !
I'im a huge Federer Fan and I'm watching this video like every week .. Unbelievable !
dont know who that is but roger has been without a coach for too long, look how consistent he as when he as coached by tony.but i must say when he worked with that guy before last year french, his game changed so much,he was almost unrecognizable.i hope this is a good thing
tune? its brilliant, prefectly suited.
If only Federer played this relaxed against nadal... his head is in the right place and he pulls off the good shots. Federer should relax and play his game... he is the best, but loses to nadal because of his own self disbelief.
@LapoSettepanze haha i have seen one
lleyton hewitt - us open final 2004
guess who he played against =D
To the Uploader; who is the artist behind this great vid?
@AndresRoddick1
hahahaha..he was poor del potro was completely humiliated
this is the level roger plays at when he is 100% fit and healthy.i dont think i have ever seen a player being dismantled like this.i dont think i have ever or will ever see nadal play like this
probably the most perfect match i have ever seen roger play
Este Tango se titula:
"MENUDO BAÑO"
I believe Del Potro hit the ball to federer off a double bounce, and the point was over, so fed was just having fun.
nadal or federer seems to be such a common dispute, but honestly, after this video, how can you possibly like nadal more? i think nadal IS better and i also think nadal will retire with MORE slams then federer, but the shots that this man comes up with are just insane, unthinkable, amazing to watch. waiting for nadals opponent to net a ball is a whole lot less entertaining
yes, the half volley...
del potro looked a step and a half slower than usual too, and that also helped federer destroy him. yeh, just a bad day for del potro and federer played superbly and held his nerve really elegantly.
this was a near perfect performance for roger..
2:09 - HAX! The ball just sticks to his raquet.
1:49 why does the score say 36 love 40 set point? Is that possible?
What was the name of the old song that video had before this one?
@andresdanielkelly simply because if youve watched both of them play for a long time federer can just produce the better tennis.
the fact that he has trouble bringing it to the court against nadal doesnt change anything about federers top level of play still being way ahead of nadals. i have yet to see nadal play the kind of tennis that roger has shown lots of times in many matches. like the one against del potro here
where the hell r u maystro !!
OMG who believes that after 9 months Del Potro will defeat Federer in the final of US open ,,,
FEDERER THE BEST EVER!!
this time federer aims at the backhand of del
lol..federrer's shot stroke is hard to guess wheres the ball bounces..
nice vid
great moments from roger...
only the music is bad i think
simply the best. poor del potro. when federer is playing like that its impossible to win and delpo was the victim here...he wasnt even playing bad and he lost 3-6, 0-6, 0-6..
yo no vi la final del US open...pero CLARAMENTE federer tiene que haber jugado mal...
God has invited tennis for him.
classi example of federer ownage.

thats got 2 be completely embaressing for the other guy to be owned like that
theb all had already bounced twice so he had already won the point
yeah me 2...
actually federer has never beaten nadal at his best over 5 sets. last victory in a grand slam was in 2007 wimby when nadal was about 20 yrs old. only djokovic has ever been able to do that

3:46 federer hits it with his head o_o
i would say it's not incredible but still a great shot
it's not that easy because pro's hit much harder than club player ;)
whereas djokovic and nadal thrive in adversity demonstrating their superior mental power
James Patt yeah man, coming back from a break down in the 5th set in arguably the single most important match in the history of the game shows how little mental strength he has. fucking moron.

did federer hit a shot with his head...3:45 ish..wtf i don't even think that's legal.
lol del potro gets owned here and he improved so much then beat roger at us open and hes only 20!
it's very difficult, i don't see anything easy there.

what the fuck is this song? O.o
hahaha music shit! that's true
What an owneage!
It's true that Del Potro has improved incredibly and is now a great player, but its also important to notice that federer was serving the worst in his entire career. ahhahahahaha delpobike

its not legal shot
Great vid, awful music. Thanks for making it though.
