Yes, I felt the same! Those powerful lyrics together with this powerful heartfelt delivery got me and made this cover of his stand out for me too. As I said before, even as a Brazilian, I was leaning more towards Putri, because she combines her amazing voice and technique with such depth and power of emotion that makes everything she sings sounds absolutely stunning. But this rendition of his gave me the goosebumbs all over. If he brings that level of emotion and power to his performances, it'll be really, really tough to choose between them.
I’m also really hoping he chooses something that not only shows his talent but has emotion in it like this one does. We all know he can sing, but it was great to see this kind of emotional performance from him!
