- How to cut quality Bisbee Turquoise by John Hartman. In this informational video you will learn how to cut high grade Turquoise cabochons out of natural rough Turquoise. John uses our favorite, the rare natural Bisbee Turquoise.
I think the pitting in the stone add character & beauty to the stone. I like more natural looks so pits look better to me.
I agree with you! Beautiful stone
Oh that is good, normally 3 bucks to ten bucks per carat, 300 is a little pricey but very nice stuff for sure. I'm an aspiring silver smith, and want to incorporate turquoise in my stuff, nice vid.
LOVE this stone...it's beyond gorgeous!
The epoxy used to back Turquoise is from Regal Plastics in Albuquerque, NM and is called Epon880
thank you for sharing.. i would love to see more!!
Fabulous video. Thank you for sharing your love of the stones, as well as your techniques and your enthusiasm. It is much appreciated.
Thanks! I have learned so much and made so much money from your videos! Keep them coming! :-D
Thank you for sharing your art!
Man oh man I had anxiety watching you sand. “Not too much!!!!!!” Felt like I was watching an action movie. Luckily I get niiiice pieces from Bob at NevadaGem
yeah ive been cutting a lot on my faceter but i need to get out to the arbor more.
That's so funny...I thought the stone you started cutting at about 14:00 would make a very fancy belt buckle. And then you said belt buckle.
This was super interesting thanks
good to switch it up... I love the arbor for inlay
Looks awesome thank you for sharing this video
that turquoise is Bisbee Hi-Grade Blue, prob. from the copper queen Phelps Dodge dumps, I got a lot of really high grade from there after a good rain way back decades ago - nice video
That is some beautiful material. Nicely done.

On a long stone like this, would it be better to add two(2) nails or some other brace on the back to avoid breaking?
Beautiful!
Great video! Im gonna have to come see you sometime and say hi.
Hello, it's a great result! What is the reference of this machine?
Please, what kind the glue you used to glue with the nail....?
U TRG
A lot easier than printing money
what is the "brown"? Love your videos.
fascinating stuff..........but I would like to know...HOW does one take the nail off....
apply heat to the nail. Once the glue reaches it melting point, the stone will come off. Make sure the stone does not have far to fall so it won't break
Or acetone
Girl I was thinking the same thing
Do you guys only cut natural stones ? Do you back all your natural stones ? Do you work with any stabilized material ?
Wow. Just awesome
It is rare that Bisbee Turquoise is worth $300.00 per carat... standard Bisbee Turquoise is worth 3.00 per carat to 10.00 per carat. $300.00 per carat was a retail price obtained for deep blue, ultra glassy, ultra hard, natural Bisbee Turquoise with fire engine to blood red perfectly balanced spiderweb matrix
Thank you
สวยเกิ้น ชอบเหลือเกินอยากเป็นเจ้าของจังไทยไม่มีขาย นำมาขายไทยด้วย
The best..
So beautiful
Is this Cab King grinder a 6" or 8" model?
Yes it is
Yeah I dunno
I'm drooling, also.
you cant just use a dremmel for the smaller parts ?
That elongated torquise would of made a beautiful casket shape Pendant
How does one acquire apprenticeship to learn the craft?
Newbie here -- how do they get the nail off the stone?
You hold the nail with pliers and heat it up so the glue melts and the stone falls off
Saya suka

I like turquoise, and I not belive can have this stone, because price..
That matrix disappears if you go too deep
Probably in about 100 years the ‘brown’ part surrounding the turquoise will be more valuable than diamonds .. lol , just saying .
Thank you
