Callanetics is probably the only exercise book I ever followed and kept, probably because if you read it carefully and do exactly what Callan Pinkney says, to the best of your ability, it works. Your body begins to strengthen and improve....I still stretch out on the bathroom floor most mornings and execute some of the moves..."in triple slow motion."
I have a Callanetics book that I follow, and it is well illustrated and it really works in a short amount of time. It's kind of like a blend of yoga, and regular type exercise. It's very gentle with your body as opposed to gymnastic style workouts, Some of the exercises take time to get accustomed to, but it will take inches off without dieting. No sore muscles afterward either. If you have back problems, she's got exercises for that, It's how she got interested in creating her well illustrated book,
Since "Callanetics" is named after the creator Callan Pickney isn't there some kind of copyright infringement by this woman calling her workout callanetics? Her movements are much too jerky and are NOT anything like callanetics.
The exercises in this video are not Callanetics (Traditional or Evolution). In Callanetics the pulsing is a very fine, tiny motion (which works deeply into the muscles). Positions are also very different, and a lot of care is given to 'working in your peak position' which requires among other things to use the pelvic floor. The exercises in this video are certainly very good, but I am really surprised they are presented as 'Callanetics'.
No where did Callan Pinckney demo these excercises. The movements should be tiny and controlled, not swinging your arm or legs around. This is not Callanetics.
This woman is not doing callentics properly you do lose weight and you do reshape i started in my 20s and a. Now in my 50s i do nt do it as often as i used to but i still have a very shaped body because callanetics works from the inside 100% this excercise works but the women is doing it wrong
I am just starting callanetics as when I was only running alone I list weight but didn't have shape then was injured and put it on. so I am combining it with this and as a pt now the odd hiit training.
Hi do t follow this video the wome is doing the moves totally wrong buy the original dvd by Callan Pinkney herself it will work a treat you do not need to diet or do any running
justcallme... Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates. It is a set of research and control of movement based exercises, designed to strengthen the body and create wellness...Callanetics has different moves. From what I understand Callanetics is a repetition based workout with pulses, while Pilates recruits the entire body in a fluid manner, which creates symmetry and balance. The benefits arise in the quality of the moves, not in a pulse or quantity.
What the girl showed with the floor exercises is not original true callanetics. Those are some toning exercises, quite effective, but not callanetics type that elongate the musculature.
The fault lies with the host when she said Callanetics is making a comeback instead of saying that the fitness instructor is showing something close to it. How much do you want to bet, though, that this instructor calls her exercises Callanetics in the gym.
@@saynotohookups Actually the presenter also mentioned that Tracy Anderson is taking it to the next level, which is true. I tried both Callanetics and Tracy Anderson's metamorphosis and both target small supporting muscles and help you with the posture and shape body. I like TA better, but am nostalgic of old Callan's VHS tapes.
April Brownlowe I got the original book and it explains so much and the original dvd of Amazon and get to do those first then you should get stronger in time. I did some of this in the eighties wish I never stopped
This women is breaking copy right her ecxercises are wrong nothing like callemetics i got into this in my 20s i am now in my 50s and as fit as a fiddle and have kept my shape from then till now so callenitics works but callan pinkney is the one to follow only
Even in the short time that I have seen Callan's clips from her exercises I can see that this is not Callanetics. So why not do real Callanetics and if you want to do another form of exercise then do that too? Don't do something "close" to it keep it real.
I started callentics in my 20s ime now in my 50s and in my view its the best exercise there is

I am glad that the original Callanetics are available on dvd, as I wore out my old VHS tape!
Callan Pinckney was amazing. The creator of callanetics. These exercises look more harder than the real original ones.
Actually, these aren't Callanetics.
@@lindalove7193 All these exercises are in Callan's series.

These are not Callanetics! I love it and do it everyday and this is nothing like Callanetics.
Thank you God bless great video 🙏😇
I lost a dress size in 2 weeks with the original Callanetics
I tried both Callanetics and Tracy Anderson. They compare. TA is harder though but both give remarkable results.

What’s the difference between callanetics and barre? It seems the same but less up beat.
What's the difference between callanetics and pilates?

If you listen to what she says, she says it is "close" to Callanetics, she didn't say it was Callanetics. It is indeed close.
