In 1984 I was 19 years old and I joined the army. This is where I saw the last EBRs being removed from service. What a pleasure to see one again in such beautiful condition, I hope you will let me hear the sound of its engine. Good restoration and good luck (translated French/English with Google translate)

im not a nazi fan boy - but tiger is cool - the panhandler is just weirdly odd and defiantly french - stick with the brits next time you design a weapon system and you too could own the storm shadow - 1984 ? was that when the Argentinians had their mirages wiped off the sky ?

Hmmm…I remember in 1982 when the Argentines using French aircraft and French Exocets sank the shit out of the Royal Navy. Those French weapons really fucked up the British.

@@HNH421 Tiger helped the Allies win the war. The French do own Storm Shadow. The Falklands were in 1982 and the RN's Harrier pilots got their knowledge on Mirage from colleagues who had done time in Australia. Yeah, we flew them before we got the Hornet.
So, you managed an entirely fact-free comment. That's gotta count for something.

@@aaronleverton4221 Yeah, one or two exchange pilots is going to be somewhat less than the RN and RAF pilots learnt from the French, Belgian, Greek, Spanish and other pilots who all flew the Mirage - and unlike the Australian AF who went near combat post 1975, a lot of the French, Belgian, and Greek pilots all had combat experience. But hey, you Australians keep telling yourselves you were relevant. ;) :)

Some many, many years ago, I had taken leave to assist The Child Bride, who spent some weeks as relief manager of a Tourist Park up there in Smack in the Eye.(Mackay.) One arvo, during a typical summer downpour, I was standing in the doorway of the Services Shed, when a lanky character, in jeans, boots and pearl press button shirt wandered up, from outside, in the pissing rain.
“Mate,” I said, “ Come inside, it’s pissing down “
‘Nah,’ he replied, ‘I’m from Cairns….this ain’t rain’ And he continued on his merry way. On that day, I learned that North Queenslanders are different. Also, rain doesn’t bother them. Respect. Cheers.
