- Almost Eaten by Crocodiles in the Florida Everglades - After Camping at the Flamingo Campsite in Everglades National Park, we started the day with a 3 hour kayaking tour. While waiting at the dock to start our tour, I did not see a gap between the sidewalk and deck and one minute I was standing and the next, I was hanging over the water by my elbows. Thankfully I did not fall in as the water has many crocidiles with some rather large ones. A few weeks later a sailboat capsized in this harbor and the man was pulled under by one of these crocidiles. Thankfully he survived. I injured my knee in the fall but better a sore knee than being eaten. After the excitement of falling, we enjoyed the kayaking tour and a number of hikes throughout the Everglades. It was especially exciting to see such large crocidiles up close on the boat launch.

Cool info about the barnacles. I loved the bird with the spoonbill. Those crocodiles were huge!!!!!!
Sue does a great job with planning and we had a full day in the everglades. So special to not only hike and kayak but see so much wildlife.
A very full day with awesome views from the kayaks, and then unique and awesome sights from multiple short hikes. Loved the manatee, crocodiles, pelican, heron and alligators. And also the mahogany, gumbo Limbo, and bald cypress. A wonderland for us northeasterners!
It was a full day. Thanks for all the planning! ❤
amazing video thanks for sharing
Thanks! We had a great day in the Everglades.
Thanks for sharing. Very nice video as always, thanks for sharing PTL
Thanks! It was a full day in the everglades. I appreciate all your comments and your posts! Do you mind if I ask your name?
I love the everglades. Fantastic photos of the all the birds and crocodiles!
Thanks! We enjoyed our visit and exploring multiple trails this day as well as the morning kayaking.
Wow! What a great trip! Thanks for taking us along..and glad you're safe. Those things are scary lol
Thanks! I have a sore knee from the fall but glad not to have dropped in on one of those big crocodiles. We had a full day of hiking and kayaking.
Falling with the crocodiles beneath definitely had to get your heart rate up. Glad the Lord was watching over you, brother. Great footage.
Thanks John! We enjoyed the day in the everglades.
great video PTL. seeing some Alligators during you kayaking trip very cool indeed. glad that you weren't their lunch 😂.
Thanks Rerun. Most of those big critters were actually salt water crocodiles. I thought crocodiles were only over in Austrailia but found out we have them here in Florida as well. We did see that one alligator at the end and see many more alligators a few days later.
I like forest wonderful
It was a special place to visit and full day of hiking and kayaking.
Glad you didn't fall in! John from MI
Very glad to not go in the drink with those crocs. Thanks John!
I had a similar experience while kayaking up that same river! While headed upstream a crocodile was swimming down toward me. Fortunately it took no interest in me and I gave it a wide enough berth... but my heart was pounding faster than it ever has. Looks like you had an awesome experience!
Sure was an awesome time. That sure would get the heart rate going seeing one coming your way. Thanks for checking it out.
How fun!! I loved the Roseate spoonbill and I LOVE manatees! Thank God you are ok. I have an "almost eaten by a gator" story too. I'll tell you sometime. What a horrible way to go. Beautiful area.
The Roseate Spponbills are so unique and beautiful. Would love to hear your gator story. Maybe on one of Dan's livestreams sometime.
Yes, that's what I was thinking. Too much to type out.
Wonderful that you got a view of some manatees.....and that you didn't fall into the water off the dock !! Looks like one of those crocs could swallow you whole ! lol ! Blessings !! \o/
Thanks Eileen. My knee is still sore over a month later. I'll give it a few months to heal and if it doesn't will have it checked. Those crocs were huge. Very special to see a bunch of manatees from the docs and from the kayaks as we paddled by the area where they were hanging out.
You would love this spot for a paddle. It was from Flamingo in the Everglades and was a free 3 hour tour by the park service.
Beautiful trip. Glad you didn’t end up as crocodile bait. If you and Sue come through SC, give me a call.
Thanks so much, espcially for the invite. We did go through SC on our way down but were driving big miles to get to our FL destinations.
Wow! That must have been scary! Glad you escaped with only minor injuries. Beautiful area PTL!
We had a great time kayaking and exploring the everglades. Knee is still sore so would appreciate your prayers for healing.
@@bestillonthetrail234 you got 'em brother!
Beautiful experience but scary as well hahahahaha
Yes very beautiful but those crocodiles are big! 😅Thanks for watching!
Florida is pretty in its own way. I’m not a fan of its critters though. 😂 Those crocodiles look like they are just misunderstood. If you scratch them under the chin you’ll have a friend for life. 🤣
🤣🤣🤣It was fun seeing them both at the doc and while kayaking but I'll let someone else do the scratching. Maybe in heaven when the lion lies down with the lamb and the Lord hold my hand. 😅
@@bestillonthetrail234 🤣
The reason we have not purchased a boat here in SC is that we like lake boating but the lakes down here have alligators. No thank you. They have water moccasins too. 😫
You did that jetski tour not to far from here. How would you like to fall off one of those into these waters? No thanks!
😳🫣 pretty place, but I’d stay far from the water! ☕️🇨🇦☕️
We felt safe in the kayaks but you never know what those big boys will do. Was a full day of hiking and kayaking.
Florida has alligators not crocodiles.
Thanks for watching! Actually, Florida has both Alligators and Crocodiles. Alligators are in fresh water and crocodiles are for the most part in salt water. The crocodiles are Atlantic Saltwater Crocodiles and can be huge. In my video, notice the snoute on the crocks narrows. Also the bottom teeth on crocs show when the mouth is closed which we observed.
