This is without a doubt the pinnacle of DBS. There wasn't a single point during this movie that didn't have me actively engaged in what was going on. I wish i could go back and watch it for the first time in that packed theater. Fucking legendary.
Only seen a bit of dragon ball Z before this movie, how does the rest of the series compare?
Prometheus The series moves slower, but ultimately you get the same enjoyment out of it. Not a perfect series at all, but one that’s worth watching. Especially if you enjoyed this movie.
Pinnacle of DBS easily, nothing comes close.
Much more controversially, I might even say it's the pinnacle of Dragon Ball.

As weird as it sounds, he kind of did have fun, he was pissed but he was also praising Broly's power with a smile even after having the crap kicked out of him by Broly.

Half regrets I'd say since he was still quite pleased with how strong Broly was despite the beating. And if there's one thing Frieza's good at, its taking some savage beatings.

The emotion in his track and the frustration of Broly man I felt his pain . If they would’ve put tears in Broly eyes as he transformed from his fathers death dude I would’ve lost it even more .
_That's the ONLY gripe I have about the movie, they shoulda had a flood of tears during this~_

Yeah. Tears would've been the only thing I would've added to that transformation scene. Imo it is the most intense super-saiyan transformation in the entire series regardless.

When you realize Goku and Vegeta pussied out of that fight because their blue form couldn't even surpass Broly's super saiyan form. If Broly went full power and they didn't fuse, they'd practically die.

@@diego4371 Not an hour and a half, they got the fusion right after 2 failed attempts, and the Metamoran fusion lasts 30 minutes, which translates to an hour and maybe 2 or 3 minutes dedicated to the chit chat about the fusion name and the dances for the failed attempts.

I had an interesting thought a while ago. This scene in particular almost made me feel bad. Not because the reason why Broly ascended to SSJ was sad (it was), but because we all wanted it to happen. Like the check mark for him turning into the saiyan we were all used to had to come from pain, in an already painful life for Broly, or at the least rough and tough one. So, we the audience are in a way enabling Paragus to be killed just to have him power up and become a SSJ and FPSSJ/LSSJ. Kinda messed up when you look at it that way, but it was expected I suppose.

I don't even think the lyrics are in english.
It starts with something like:
"Du bist mein [incoherent]

there is no part in this track that has anything that sounds even close to "where were the gods".
I don't speak german, but that's what it sounds like.

This is the track that plays when SSJ Broly charges his attack in a sphere that surrounds him, and then he screams in rage and bombards the area with thousands of random ki blasts. Frigging epic moment.

They really outdid themselves with this movie. Like honestly there wasn’t a moment I didn’t have goosebumps😂. Plus the crowd on the first day it showed made the experience even better😂. The laughs and gasps😂. By far greatest experience

I’ve rewatched this movie 8 times and I still can’t get over how good it is I also got my uncle who hasn’t watched dragon ball since the cell saga first aired to watch this movie and he loved it he said he might watch dragon ball again

Someone made this same comment on a video regarding Gon's transformation to destroy Pitou, how it's so much more raw to witness a character power up not as a Hope to Save the Day, but as The Despair to End it All.
While Broly isn't the MC, his incredible suffering and pain conveys exactly that. The Despair to End it All. I actually teared up a bit seeing him lose his mind witnessing his father's death. Even though they weren't on the best of terms, he was the only family he had, and knew his father loved him dearly on the inside. With him gone, there was nothing but pain and destruction to be left in his wake.
When you find out this was what frieza was actually scared for and not a regular super saiyan
