Thank you so much for this tutorial! I made 3 puffy shorts and every one is different from the others and no one has the perfect sizes! pfff ~ now I can make the perfect one :3 yay thank you! ♥ it's really easy to understand and the tips you give are so nice!
Finished my first pair of bloomers last night thanks to your wonderful tutorial! Thank you so much for uploading this, it really simplified the whole crotch-seaming process for me :)
Do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man? Yes, I know the muffin man who lives down Drury Lane. Haha, have not heard this in 40 years 😍
could somebody tell me if the leg measurements at 1:49 are a single leg measurement x2~3 or is it the width of both of your legs x2~3?? sorry i'm a beginner and its a good tutorial its just a little confusing here.
+Anti Fluffs (Antifluffs) thanks! I was just watching a woman who printed from Spoonflower and I'm thinking about it. I really want my clothes to have my labels ;;
+Dorothy Uranga I've had labels printed from Sponnflower as well! They were lovely but I found a company close to my city that makes them too and it was cheaper than buying from Spoonflower (since that's international) :D I do have an overlock machine, btw! I just thought maybe not everyone whatching the tutorial would have one so I decided to use french seam (which was actually what I used to do before I bought an overlock! )
Love this video! Just wondering how you make the pattern you use for all your bloomers please? What are the top & bottom measurements, the ones between them and is the curve freehand or using a curved ruler? Thanks so much!
When you are giving the materials to make these bloomers, what did you call the thinner lace? Eyelet "something" lace. I need the name as I will be trying to purchase my materials online. I love these bloomers!! They are sooo very cute and can be plain or very fancy!! I can't wait to try to make them!
I'm trying to find some time to create a series on making blouses (from making a simple pattern to sewing more complicated ones) Hopefully I'll be able to finish all of my commissions in time to do that! 💕
sweet! I've just made two blouses that are a bit more classical but that still have a sweet touch, unfortunately due to lack of time I couldn't record any bit of the manufacturing process, but next week I'll be a bit more free and I'll start working on new tutorials :)
That's nice! I'm trying my best to catch up with my commissions (a couple were delayed due to medical issues) but soon I'll be back to sewing more and making more videos
Hi!!! Just found your channel and i have subscribed 😊 I have a question though.. I want to learn how to make some clothes but i have no experience with sewing or anything Can you give me advice and where should i start??? Thank you 😍
Allyssa Rose this is an old vid so she might not reply. So if you don't mind I might offer a bit of advice. Don't start with stretchy fabric, it's super hard to sew with even though patterns are easy. Don't use second hand bed sheets for your final garment. But second hand bedsheets are good for mock ups (mock ups are the "rough draft" sewing pieces, I would highly recommend you make a mockup on all your garments before sewing with the real fabrics. I still use mock ups even if it's a simple patten, or I also do mock ups if I haven't used a certain patten in the last 4+ months,) I would recommend you to do an elastic skirt for your fist garment. They are super easy and quick. They also have the basic skills you'll need for sewing too. Another thing to remember is, don't be too annoyed when things take ages to make. You do pick up speed once you've done a few garments.
Oh! Sorry! I completely forgot I had used a footage from another petticoat tutorial! Yes, I did record another petticoat tutorial a while ago, a more "fairy-kei" one and never got the time to edit it :( Sorry I had forgotten about that part! haha
MeLikesTea can you make bloomers with the same fabric you used for the purple garment? If so, can you tell me what fabric that is? I am wanting to make a pair for my daughter to dance in. Will the fabric stretch or be roomy enough. The purple fabric looks like it would.
+Karichi Du Soleil Hi dear! I wish I had the time and the space to make more videos but it looks like whenever I try to come back something happens and makes me stop making videos. I sincerely hope someday I'll be able to do UA-cam videos more consistently, right now I'm on a hiatus again, I have been sick twice this year, I even recorded a video but it was sad and ugly and I didn't want to upload it :( I decided, though, that once I finish all the items on my commissions waiting list i will stoop accepting.commissions and will focus on making things as I want and will post more on UA-cam since I'll have more time, basically make just tutorials and try to make them better and with written versions for everything. I really like it here and I want to do it more but right now I can't 💔
Oh god this is suoer easy but confusing. My waist measurement is 99cm so half woyld be 49.5 so technically i need About 60 cm. Now this is where it gets tricky. My thights are 61 cm so by two it would be 120 cm. How do i draw that?
+Perla Medrano Hi, dear! I don't usually really draw the thighs/leg of the bloomer because if I draw a vertical line from the curves it already has the size I need, don't know if I'm making myself clear here. haha I don't use the waist measure to create the waist of the bloomer, I use the hips measurement because the bloomer had to pass your hips There is a very quick written version on my blog that might help blog.melikestea.com/2016/02/diy-bloomers.html But just a reminder of how I do it - I first draw a horizontal line which is hips/2 +10cm - then I draw the curves to know which side will be the front and which will be the back - I draw vertical lines starting from the curve down to how long I want the leg of the bloomers to be - Then I draw another vertical line, this time connecting the vertical ones, this line is, for my measurements, usually 2x bigger than my actual thigh measurement, but if it is too small for your thighs you can make them wider :)
My sewing machine isn't the most impressive one and I have no problems, maybe going slower when it comes to the lace/elastic part would work 😀 In any case, you could use straight seam + zigzag, it's just that I find French seam much nicer to look at 😊
Watch billions of tutorials on sewing and watch how they handle their machines. The worst I've done to mine is break needles, which are easy, if not frustrating, to replace.
Hey, i know its a bit late of a response, but its like wearing a set of spandex shorts under your miniskirt! Its really just a modesty thing, but made to suit the fashion!
Loved your tutorial, I just finished making a pair out of fleece, winters coming after all lol!!
Okay so watching this with English captions was hilarious. LOL "Safety Beans"
I love the french seam idea a lot! I might have to do that the next time I make some bloomers. Thanks for the idea!
Been looking for a simple factual video to make these, thank you so much from Scotland xx
Love the video, wish the needed measurements on parts of the pattern were more clarified though. Was confused on where I should put my leg measurments
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I made 3 puffy shorts and every one is different from the others and no one has the perfect sizes! pfff ~ now I can make the perfect one :3 yay thank you! ♥ it's really easy to understand and the tips you give are so nice!

Your voice is so soothing!
I like bloomers, I use them as lingerie sometimes, sometimes I wear them to sleep. No matter the use, they are so cute and comftorable
Yes they are indeed!!
Awww your "Me Likes Tea" label!!! I don't know how to make mine ;;
By the way, we need to donate you an overlock machine.
I'd be willing to pitch in for that overlock!!
+Anti Fluffs (Antifluffs) thanks! I was just watching a woman who printed from Spoonflower and I'm thinking about it. I really want my clothes to have my labels ;;

I love wearing bloomers! Thank you. Do you sell any that reach to the knees?
Love this video! Just wondering how you make the pattern you use for all your bloomers please? What are the top & bottom measurements, the ones between them and is the curve freehand or using a curved ruler? Thanks so much!
Of course, it is very easy to have the pattern. It would be good if you could show me how they are drawn so that later I can make them thanks.
I shall be another to thank you! I was trying to buy the prefect pair for a cosplay, but its not out there! So I can now make it!
Thank you this helped me to make my pink diamond cosplay
lmao im here for that too!
Ah so glad I found this comment, that's exactly who im working on!

love this !!
What fabric do you use for these bloomers and the lavender pair
Thank you very much, that was very helpful 😊❤
To make ruffled bloomers, what changes...would the base be less full or the same plus the ruffles?
Love to see u either making a blouse or altering a modern one to look Lolita;)
I'm trying to find some time to create a series on making blouses (from making a simple pattern to sewing more complicated ones)
Hopefully I'll be able to finish all of my commissions in time to do that! 💕
+MeLikesTea awesome thank u. I wear neo Victorian wear and slowly incorporating Lolita looks into it. ;)
sweet!

+MeLikesTea thanks so much. I now have a half circle skirt, full petticoat, bloomers, and a fascinator to match my casual skirt....
That's nice! I'm trying my best to catch up with my commissions (a couple were delayed due to medical issues) but soon I'll be back to sewing more and making more videos
Lindo!!! Realizou tudo com muito capricho.

great tutorial, made a pair for my best friend :)
Your blog link is not working anymore?
What video is the waistband footage from? I really want to see that one too.
love your vids ^.^
+MyCrazyCartoonLife hi, dear! The footage in from the bloomers, I didn't mix footage in this video as far as I recall :D
The one with the purple garment? It looks like a petticoat to me. :)
Oh! Sorry! I completely forgot I had used a footage from another petticoat tutorial! Yes, I did record another petticoat tutorial a while ago, a more "fairy-kei" one and never got the time to edit it :(

How many yards of fabric does it take to make one?
Did you put two rows of elastic at waist?
I tried this but when trying it on after doing the waist the back was shorter then the front and I don't know why.
These are so cute
Bloomers are lovely! 💕
Oh you're posting again! I was subscribed a while back but you went mia for a looong time so I unsubscribed but looks like you're back again~!
+Karichi Du Soleil Hi dear! I wish I had the time and the space to make more videos but it looks like whenever I try to come back something happens and makes me stop making videos. can't download the patterns. I really like what you have here.
nice! i love bloomers
I'm going to give it a try..by hand though. No machine.
Thank you!

I don't use the waist measure to create the waist of the bloomer, I use the hips measurement because the bloomer had to pass your hips
There is a very quick written version on my blog that might help
blog.melikestea.com/2016/02/diy-bloomers.html
But just a reminder of how I do it
- I first draw a horizontal line which is hips/2 +10cm
- then I draw the curves to know which side will be the front and which will be the back
- I draw vertical lines starting from the curve down to how long I want the leg of the bloomers to be
- Then I draw another vertical line, this time connecting the vertical ones, this line is, for my measurements, usually 2x bigger than my actual thigh measurement, but if it is too small for your thighs you can make them wider :)
Oh thanks :)
MeLikesTea
Very cute:) I'll have to try it out.
+rwright2212 if you do, send me a picture of it!
+Helena A. Oi Helena!
I wish you would make more videos.
Me too, but my computer can't handle editing HD videos and it is quite stressing! D:
MeLikesTea aww that's to ba I really liked your UA-cam videos.
YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND SPINEL
Thanks!
Love 🤩
Omg! it's so adorable! I want it hahahaha
Who else her doesn’t even own a sewing machine- 🌸
I want to use my grandmas but I’m too scared I’ll ruin it :(
I have 4 sewing machines but I need to sell 2 😀
I don't understand how to make the pattern. I need it for a 8, 9, and 10 year old. HELP. I love your video. Thanks!
Good night I like them all and I learn a lot thank d😂
dear Milikestea, how about a victorian underwear jumpsuit? don/t know how to attach photo but surely you can imagine!
i really wish there were measurements or you at least told us what measurements go where cause how am i supposed to make this bro
Isn't it shown at 1:50 ?
San Antonio
French seaming the lace and elastic for the legs? Not sure if my sewing machine can handle that. :/
My sewing machine isn't the most impressive one and I have no problems, maybe going slower when it comes to the lace/elastic part would work 😀
In any case, you could use straight seam + zigzag, it's just that I find French seam much nicer to look at 😊
You could try skipping that area with the machine, then sewing it by hand since it’s no more than an inch, and would be barely noticeable
I want to make my own clothes but i'm scared of breaking my mom's sewing machine. Can i sew it by hand ya think?
Fyrhp yep. it'd take while but
you can totally do that
Watch billions of tutorials on sewing and watch how they handle their machines. The worst I've done to mine is break needles, which are easy, if not frustrating, to replace.
Subtitles are hilarious they say boomers instead of bloomers
Amei! Vou já já fazer um pra mim! =D
anyone else here for ouji fashion??
Are these toddlers or adults?
Why is it highly recommended to wear bloomers under Lolita clothes? I had a few friends who never wore anything other than their underwear underneath.
Hey, i know its a bit late of a response, but its like wearing a set of spandex shorts under your miniskirt! Its really just a modesty thing, but made to suit the fashion!
Lindo amei!
