I attended a funeral in New York once where the family spent tens of thousands of dollars to put on a show. The sad thing is that the deceased was the only daughter who was an alcoholic and the black sheep of the family. When she needed help to go into rehab the family wanted nothing to do with her they felt she was a disgrace to the family so they never financed her rehab treatment. When she passed everyone was crying and spent a ton of money 💰 for a show funeral, paid for an opera singer at the church, a violinist, most expensive casket, horse drawn carriage, then there was a Reception after the burial at an expensive Catering hall where 500 guests was served in fine china. After this experience it opened my eyes to what really matters in life if only they assisted her when she needed it she could have still been alive.
That is so sad. I had a sort of similar experience but the opposite. My ex’s cousin was a wonderful woman who worked hard took care of her children and like nice thing and good food. I admired her very much still do. She got sick and got worst very quick. And passed away. Her family fought over her things and her funeral was small and she had on polo tee shirt and maybe jeans. The family took from her young adult children. It frightened me. So sad.

Honestly as a no fuss person, I can’t help but wonder how ppl commenting abt how much these ppl send on their love ones are actually generous to the living. My gut says not much.
Plenty of hungry people in the world has nothing to do with losing a loved one who meant everything particularly your own mother, When you're going through that stress of arranging a burial and what you're spending on your loved one, hungry people doesn't equate. My mom said don't put a lot of money in the ground use it for yourself. She said it didn't make any sense. She was right, we buried her it was a beautiful service and the funeral was hard but very well put together.
My Paternal Grandparents and my Dad were all direct cremation, no funeral and no fuss. My Daughter knows I am an organ and tissue donor, then I want a Green Burial-no embalming, no coffin or casket just dressed in my jeans and a Steelers shirt. Plant a lilac bush on the spot. Done.

Easton, I think your a really wonderful son, who loves his mum very very much. nothing was too much trouble for you to try and do Everything and anything you could think of to please your mum. And please her you certainly did. When you went to look at her in the casket for the last time and felt she didn’t look quite as you remember, In my opinion, her spirit had moved on to heaven, so her light had gone out if you Understand me. You just saw the body she had been living in while here. Now she is free from pain, her body is whole again, and she looks beautiful as she watches everything you do. She will always be close to you...strong love such as you had, can never be cut. I’m sure she would want to throw her arms round you and thank you and kiss you. So close your eyes, think of that and ALL the happy memories you have of times spent with her, laughing and loving. Bless you for being such a brilliant son ❤️😘💐🦋🌈
Death can make the sweetest person the meanest person ever and can make the meanest person the sweetest person ever. Death brings out the best and worst in people. Been working in the death industry for a little over 13 years now and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
This is the craziest thing I have ever seen. Cremation..no service..nothing. Take the insurance money and pay off your bills, invest some, save some and go on a nice vacation. I'll be dead. I won't know who would be at the service nor see or smell the flowers. Don't waste my money like this.
My thing is how they allowed to afford it when so many people are homeless this world is so money oriented it's all about money and if you don't have it your forgot my days also is with you pass away don't your soul leave your body so why do we have funerals
The funeral director should have checked out the selected church it's layout if steps were present the gradient of the stairs the radius of the turn etc cuz any hiccups & it reflects badly on him & the Funeral home. It's a pity Euston's Mum's funeral wasn't smooth running. Those lead lined coffins/caskets are extremely heavy & normally abit wider than a standard sized vessel add a body to the mix & it's incredible weight to move especially by pall bearers whom may be new to this kinda thing plus they had to deal wid tight turns & almost lifting overhead.
Money isn't an object huh? That one family (Fanno) says the dude was a menace to the society in and out of jail all of his adult life... Hopefully they got him some help when he was alive instead of only going all out at his funeral.
I think it's a good idea for people to talk about death because when it happens and sometimes out of the blue , then maybe you arrange things with emotion and that can cost lots of money because we live in a world that says your money is your worth and that in my opinion needs to change a humans worth should not be their looks of their possessions .
Good funeral homes who care about people will not suck up all your money and will actually help you find alternatives. You can actually rent a casket before cremation, you just pay to have the liner replaced.
I just dont understand why... I dont want a funeral at all when I pass I told my daughters I just want cremated no money spent on flowers or anything I just feel it's not important. Money doesnt need thrown away when I die my granddaughters will always need and I wont need anything anymore.
WOW...I was surprised to hear him say, "Most graves are sold with a 100 year lease." So after all that money spent, your loved one can be evicted and their grave resold! Cremation, please...
This is RIDICULOUS!! Spend the money on them while they are alive and can enjoy it NOT when they are dead and gone! This is just for the people that are alive left behind by the deceased, very selfish! The dead cant enjoy any of this so why do it, donate to others that need the money in their name, that is truly remembering those that passed one!
I don’t believe in giving thousands of dollars to the funeral home employees. The dead person doesn’t benefit from the money. You’re just helping the funeral employees to send their kids to college, buy a new and bigger house, go on expensive vacations.
These people have lost their minds. As long as you have pictures & love in your heart for that person, their spirit never dies. My brother is gone now 16yrs it still feels like yesterday. I still cry. It still sucks, it never gets easy, but this is a waste. I would think you'd put the money to good use like forming a trust or scholarship in his name donating to help fight against the disease that took him. Love them while they are alive & can appreciate the love you're giving. In turn you have peace in knowing that they KNOW you loved & cherished them. I find people that do these extraordinary things feel guilt in some part for not being there as much as they could or doing as much as they could while they were still on this earth. To me (jmo) this is crazy....how bout you pay for my education & student loans....that would be awesome....
I cried watching Easton's story. I have 3 grown sons & totally know how they tend to feel about their mother. He was really trying to show how much he will always love her. This is a cool series. Very interesting industry
13:30 In the USA you can ask to be part of preparing the body, so you can make sure the makeup is done correctly. Just an FYI. I'm guessing it is also the case in GB.

Celebrate my life and show me all the love while I’m here.... I don’t want them to wait until I die. Have that money go to my children not me But I don’t disagree with none of these families... everyone grieves and celebrate in their own way
What an unbelievable and total waste of money. Have a $3000 funeral and donate the rest to charity or give it back to your family. Do people really think that the love and respect you show the deceased depends on how much money you spend? How incredibly sad.
Caskets are the simple rectangular ones, and coffins have the other shape - widening out around the middles and then narrowing again. Caskets are very American.
“We don’t want him to be forgotten”. Come 5 years no one will remember him. People do move on with their lives you know. To each it’s own. However. I have instructed my family to spend as little as possible on my cremation. I want most of life insurance money to go to help less fortunate people alive.
My uncle said the same thing but when you gone, you have little control over how you are buried or cremated, unless you pay for it in advance and majority of the world doesn't want to do it! Reason being is that you are staring DEATH in the face! Unless you're a senior citizen or have a terminal illness
@@oranseay2559 You can add a codicil to your will which states if any part of your wishes are not honored all proceeds of your estate will be given to a charity of your choice. Meaning if you choose not to have a lavish funeral and they supersede that, the estate will be turned over to a charity
@@Ma1nguy That's if you have a will! The most responsible people that you may know are the people who don't have their affairs in order! They may have life insurance figured out, but no set will, because they think they can put it off! Those are the ones who die unexpectedly! Cause, you want the kids to split the life insurance equally that doesn't mean anything, you have that in more if majority of your assets were liquidated(the unessential one) for the funeral to be paid for and more! So, no will if you are of a certain age like you see, so someone else is sending you off! And the way that they do is a sign of love! The older you get, the less people at your services! It's really done to show off!"
In the USA, funerals range from $8,000 and up to $15,000. It is sad that it cost that much to bury someone. I have requested my family to cremate me, and not to spend that kind of money.
You will never know that feeling until you have to say goodbye to your LOVED ONE so if it makes them feel a little better to spend fortune on a funeral who are we to judge. Rest In Peace 💐
By “Spending a Fortune on a Funeral” the POCKETS are being Lined of those who could Give LESS than a damn about your Loved One. You are right Easton, that makeup is a lot for your mum especially if you requested a natural look. It’s hard working on a deceased and trying to make them look the same but sometimes it’s best not to apply any foundation at all depends on their condition. Rest well beautiful mama 🙏🏿
Why do people spend most of the insurance money on funerals? The dead don't know if they're in a cardboard box or bronze casket. The PURPOSE of the insurance money is to replace the loss of income of the decreased, and andddddd to ensure the the SURVIVORS have money to carry on and maintain an income. We all want a respectful send off for our love ones, however it shouldn't break the bank.
Sad that the funeral home wasn’t able to have that Guy’s mother look herself. Do they do not have any Black owned funeral homes in his area? Cost didn’t seem to b an issue. Really sad.
No matter what you do, when your spirit leaves this body you're not gonna look like yourself. My mother died on a Wednesday and was buried on Friday and she looked like herself and it was a White owned mortuary who prepared her. Six weeks later you're not gonna look like the person you used to be. I live in Hawaii and six weeks after an acquaintance died I attended the celebration of her life and she didn't even look like the person I once knew
@@Ma1nguy I disagree! Black people can look like themselves weeks after death. It took Micheal Jackson’s mother months to bury him. She didn’t want to let go. Usually, it takes forever to bury Black people because they’re waiting on family members to come to town. When my grandmother died we waited forever to bury her because my aunt wanted to wait for my grandmother’s siblings. All the deceased I’ve seen look-like themselves and that’s after being dead a week or two. Those ppl did a horrible job especially if money wasn’t an issue.
I don't want a funeral service or memorial, or obituaries.told my son to call everybody and tell them I passed away. My body is being donated to science. It's a waste of money.
Never in my life have I ever seen such a disgraceful waste of money. As a person with special needs, I think Uncle Nathan would have very much agreed on spending that money much more wisely. There are many poor people in the world and many wonderful organizations who could have used those funds. Horrendous story, and I haven't even watched the second one yet.
OMG……I used to be in the floristry business, and if a traveller passed away they didn’t care what it cost, they just wanted frames made to resemble things special to them…you couldn’t buy the frames then, they all had to be wired and mossed, each flower wired separately, whereas now they make styrofoam frames, soak them, them just insert the flowers into it…. Horse drawn carriages, lots of horses, big cars, the works. No….Traveller’s really are generous to their loved ones…..as some tributes are seen on here!
Six weeks planning a funeral! I thought we were slow in southwest Georgia where it sometimes takes two weeks. Do they still view the body after all that time?
Yeah that was a long time.... London must be different because in the US they would be charged each day for storage... Hey he did what he felt was best for his mom but I say give all the flowers and love while they are here, I personally dont feel puttting all that money in the ground(wall) is smart but hey
Nobody in this world should finally burry their mom in 6 weeks. Really how long do expect a dead body to remain fresh and in its original color for “SIX WEEKS”
Nathan's funeral money could have been donated to the organization for the condition from which he suffered.I thought I was gonna see a wheelchair made with flowers!!
My mother janet died two years ago, she wanted to be cremated and shipped to texas, then my uncle buried her ashes next to her father and mother, rip little mother.😢🙏🏼
. This is absolutely ridiculous to waste this much money on a funeral. The love and attention is done while alive not spend that kind of money on what is basically a circus around a deceased person.
I feel outlandish funerals like this are out of guilt Sorry but I've lost both my parents and they were both loved in life and respected in death I didn't need to spent tens of thousands. I was there when Mum passed and I watched her soul leave her shell behind it didn't look like her anymore 😥💔 I love and miss them everyday they know that I don't have to prove that to anyone..it's a shame these lavish events are for them not the deceased..my parents were both cremated and with me ❤️🙏🌹 Neither wanted a lavish affair these people are acting like $$$ proves your love for them well I can tell you that's untrue my Mum was my best friend and she knew that in life....
The only child of his mothers..I understand why he would do this.. Every child wants to give back to his mother and time was not on his side.... I love what he said: 30 years she gave to me, I can at least have 1000 per year..
My Mom always says you give your family a nice funeral because it is the last thing you can do for them. We are from a poor area, but people here always try to do a nice funeral or at least the older generation did.
This is ridiculous. Spend that money on a charity or the homeless. As sad as it is the dead don’t know. Can’t wrap my head around this. It’s very sad when we loose a loved one especially a child but wow. These people are crazy
Yeah man no one deserves that kind of a life limited to a bed I see why he made her death an event because her life was limited why should her death be too.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that funerals are not for the deceased person. They are for the living. It's a way to say goodbye and find some kind of closure. If this is what makes them feel better then so be it but damn. So much could have been done with that amount of money. I can't wrap my head around spending a fortune on a funeral. But if that's how they want to spend it I guess it isn't my business. However, they did make a documentary about their lavish ways so I guess they opened themselves up to criticism.
I felt so sad for the man burying his mom smh he should have went to a black funeral home that’s the worse thing when your going to say your last goodbyes and they don’t look good
I want a natural burial as i love nature. So when my time come i want my family to put me in the green bin on collection day by the side of the road. Hold the service at the bin and when the truck comes by i want them to wave good bye as the fork lift me up into the air and dump me with the sticks and leaves. I want them to applaud as the fork is lowered and wave goodbye as the truck leaves!
This is crazy, only making the funeral homes rich! Leave money to your beloved ones who need it. Our bodies are only going to turn back to dust from which it was made.
Yes, do as much as you can for BOTH parents while you are lucky enough to have them...spoil them...flowers, meals, poems letters, whatever. Now is your chance to learn all you can about your family history! Write it all down as they tell you. Go through old boxes of photos together and laugh together hoe fashions have changed, don’t end up with a box of photos, stern faces, happy faces, but no clue whether they are actual relatives even! Find out what jobs your parents used to do, and their parents etc etc..where your folks met. Where you all lived when you arrived. More flowers and perhaps a nice takeaway meal one night..save mum cooking, . If you have siblings, arrange for everyone to come for a family meal, rake away or whatever...sure your mum will say she wants to cook for you, but when you get older, it gets harder to cope, so help prep the veg etc, serving, clearing away, AND washing up! Talking to dad, see if he will tell you about any household repair jobs needing doing, he just doesn’t feel up to right now...arthritis playing up or whatever..again, if you have siblings or a Caring partner, see if you can tackle these to give him peace of mind, or find someone who can! Cut the grass for them, and/or hedges. We like to take pride in our homes abd gardens as we get older, but age and health issues appear when least expected, and try as we might, we just can’t get on top of things. You feel ashamed, then depressed about it all, when young people can whiz round like tornadoes and get things done by the time we make a cup of tea. ALL OF THESE MEMORIES will stay with you..the fact you cared enough to help, and most of all, spend some time with your older parents. Today’s world moves ahead at such a pace, especially with technology thst it gets away from us, trying to cope!. Little gestures . Made with love, flowers, lending a hand, and tine spent together make us older folk more happy than you realise, abd you will always remember and be thankful you did so in later years, when it’s your turn! Lol 💞💞💞

Do what you want with my body, I’m praying my soul hears “Well Done” at the gate.
Only thing that matters!
Amen ❤️
Amen indeed!
Amen! Amen!
Why didn't they spend that kind of money helping him get his life together.
Done.
that's very nice.
Dont know
I feel the same way you do except I will be wearing my Troy Aikman jersey and yellow tulips will be planted.
@@kimma508 Nice!
They have the money 💰 why shouldn’t they make it grand!! It sounds like Nathan was so special and what’s better than a party to remember there loved one ❤️💐🌹
This was very interesting. I enjoyed watching it very much. Our deceased loved ones deserve to be sent out in style.
Easton, I think your a really wonderful son, who loves his mum very very much. nothing was too much trouble for you to try and do
Everything and anything you could think of to please your mum. And please her you certainly did. When you went to look at her in the casket for the last time and felt she didn’t look quite as you remember, In my opinion, her spirit had moved on to heaven, so her light had gone out if you
Understand me.
Yes, God bless this family!
Death can make the sweetest person the meanest person ever and can make the meanest person the sweetest person ever. Death brings out the best and worst in people. Been working in the death industry for a little over 13 years now and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
You are right want to piss on my sister
This is the craziest thing I have ever seen. Cremation..no service..nothing.
Take the insurance money and pay off your bills, invest some, save some and go on a nice vacation. I'll be dead. I won't know who would be at the service nor see or smell the flowers.
Don't waste my money like this.
My thing is how they allowed to afford it when so many people are homeless this world is so money oriented it's all about money and if you don't have it your forgot my days also is with you pass away don't your soul leave your body so why do we have funerals
Felt bad for Easton. He wanted it all to go really well. That casket entering the church was almost a disaster.
It wasn't, its typical of Caribbean funerals. Caskets and steps don't work
it isn't easy taking a HEAVY led casket up a tight set of stairs mate
Lol. I've never seen pallbearers have so much trouble with a casket. Must've been some narrow ass doors.
Stfu...I dread if they saw your dumbass comment...delete and pass your condolences....quit being a pussy typing dumb things from behind a computer
Doubt it, they're Irish Travellers, almost universally despised by the general public in the UK due to their vile culture of violence and lawlessness.
How sad is it to be an abandoned box of ashes in a room of a funeral home :( very sad
Yes.. She said one person had been there since early century 😲
It doesn't really matter where your ashes or body is. One day when Christ returns he'll find you no matter where you are.
Funerals arent for the deceased, they are coping mechanisms for the those they left behind!
I think it's a good idea for people to talk about death because when it happens and sometimes out of the blue , then maybe you arrange things with emotion and that can cost lots of money because we live in a world that says your money is your worth and that in my opinion needs to change a humans worth should not be their looks of their possessions .
HE IS DANCING THRU HIS PAIN, I THINK DO WHAT MAKES YOU GET THRU THE PAIN OF LOSING A LOVED ONE. BLESSINGS TO THE FAMLIES FOR SHARING THEIR STORIES.
Plus they were Caribbean by culture so yes, some cultures do those things, no big deal... This was not that extravagant.
It seems the families are showing love and comfort for their love one’s sufferings. Bless them.
Really interesting , I need to get my license and move there. I adore beautiful funerals.
don't know why you would have to buy a casket to cremate someone. that's just an unnecessary money gouge by the funeral home
Thats why they have so many people stored in that closet!! Unclaimed!!
Good funeral homes who care about people will not suck up all your money and will actually help you find alternatives. You can actually rent a casket before cremation, you just pay to have the liner replaced.
You don't buy it, you rent it.
@@luegrantbaker7877 same gouge. I didn't need either
@@acadiastrong4446 I was given the opportunity to buy a casket. never once did they tell me I could rent one. they offered a cardboard box!

So do you want them to stick you in the oven or the grill, for cremation 🕵🏾♂️😇😅??
@Dream Scott Who says?
Simple!
Mine too my spirit will be free but all they are burning is an empty shell
We all go back to ashes anyway ... cremation just speeds up the process.
And this mortal body cannot enter Heaven so we get a new body and name!
This was so nice. I really enjoyed this video!
Super Crook
This is RIDICULOUS!! Spend the money on them while they are alive and can enjoy it NOT when they are dead and gone! This is just for the people that are alive left behind by the deceased, very selfish! The dead cant enjoy any of this so why do it, donate to others that need the money in their name, that is truly remembering those that passed one!
Can someone tell me where I can find Easton? He's absolutely adorable

I wonder who is getting the comfort from the expensive casket, is it the dead person or the person choosing the casket for them?
Funeral home owners
Funerals shouldn't cost the earth.
Everyone makes money from something.. sad it shouldn't be but the world we live in

My favorite is Easton, and how he sacrificed so MUCH of his living expense on his beautiful mom's home going...I love him for that*
SIX WEEKS his mom's body was on I've?! They ALLOW that in England when it's normal circumstances?!
He spent 6 weeks planning the funeral. Not sure how much better a job anyone could have done.
@@JK-wp4nl Shit! I cancelled a first date, who said he'd meet me in a local Mall, and would be wearing sweats. I don't go to Malls, and if sweats are your first date choice, you'd better bring a brain or a Brad Pitt type body, FFS!
You can do it in Ireland also
Celebrate my life and show me all the love while I’m here.... I don’t want them to wait until I die. Have that money go to my children not me
But I don’t disagree with none of these families... everyone grieves and celebrate in their own way
What an unbelievable and total waste of money.
I'm not making the funeral homes rich
@@Ma1nguy Whatever works for you.

Waste of money
In the USA, funerals range from $8,000 and up to $15,000. It is sad that it cost that much to bury someone. I have requested my family to cremate me, and not to spend that kind of money.
Don't leave expensive flowers at the cemetery they will be stolen. Electric toothbrush,REALLY?? What a collosal waste of money!
Really sad.
Yeah, sad they didn't make his mother look like herself, should have found a black funeral home, not white they dont understand our peoples
I was saddened by his reaction as well! So sad how his first words after he saw her was , “all that makeup “..... they got over big time!!
Thats the same thing I thought i felt so bad for him thats the worse when your loved one doesnt look like them
No matter what you do, when your spirit leaves this body you're not gonna look like yourself.
And when science is done with you they call the families to pick up remains, and if they don’t want them they throw them in an incinerator
@@jerriedenham2320 I don't care my spirit belongs to the lord. That's just a shell that I was lent to me.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL THEY ALL DID THE LOVED ONES SO SO PROUD OF… IM IN AWE OF SUCH LOVE ❤️
Don't y'all get it?? The funeral home makes money off of you. They encourage it if u wasn't too go all out.
Nobody in this world should finally burry their mom in 6 weeks. Really how long do expect a dead body to remain fresh and in its original color for “SIX WEEKS”
Depends on storage facilities, some funeral homes have a freezer
I'm at a loss for words. What did I just watch.

Nathan's funeral money could have been donated to the organization for the condition from which he suffered.I thought I was gonna see a wheelchair made with flowers!!

Yeah man no one deserves that kind of a life limited to a bed I see why he made her death an event because her life was limited why should her death be too.
If people are this extravagant for a funeral, I wonder what they would do for a wedding because this took just about as much time and 💰!!!
Is anyone going to talk about the plastic on the furniture?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that funerals are not for the deceased person. They are for the living. It's a way to say goodbye and find some kind of closure. If this is what makes them feel better then so be it but damn. So much could have been done with that amount of money. I can't wrap my head around spending a fortune on a funeral. But if that's how they want to spend it I guess it isn't my business. However, they did make a documentary about their lavish ways so I guess they opened themselves up to criticism.
I agree. It's for the living and if it makes them happy do it.
you got the whole world with your flashy thingy and still you are on your own to your journey

Lol 💞💞💞
This is so truth. I wish when I was younger I would have asked probing questions when my grandpa told his war stories.
Better never!!! Cremate me and move along. Take that money and make memories while still alive.
Why would someone put another child before their own? just balance the love.
That statement really stuck out to me as well. I was like, 'WHAT!! Put him before your own kids??' Poor kids. They must feel so unloved😭😭
I looked at all the money the family spent on Nathan’s funeral, then looked at their dental care🥴 Oof
