Honestly I am Portuguese and I feel most people know where Portugal is. Simply because it's on the west side of Europe and most countries learn about Portuguese explorers in their history classes.
@@realhawaii5o I've talked to so many people, Amercains, Canadians, and other tourists while traveling, none have ever had a clue where I was from on the map. I highly doubt that cover us in history class. Our history never gets the credit it deserves.
Its nice that people get to know other countries through stuff like this, but its not nice when it is actually false and the longest suspension pedestrian bridge is actually in Nepal which is 51m longer than this.
My nan tells me that when she used to go to elementary, she had to cross over a river by a suspension bridge. This bridge was 70 feet above the river. She says that some boys would always get on either side of the bridge and start swinging it to scare the people trying to cross
@Stephen Casias she has never said anything about anyone falling off, but that doesn’t mean that someone didn’t. That swinging bridge is long gone now, they had to upgrade lol
I have already walked it (I have family living in Alvarenga which is next to it) It is an amazing walk because it comes straight from the boardwalks next to the river. The area in general is amazing for trekking.
Spend nearly 3 million on a bridge for tourists but could be used for the huge housing and gang violence problem instead..... What a good way to spend money
0:51 I think this part of the video is in reverse. The waterfall seems to be flowing upward meaning that the camera actually pans from right to left but they reversed it to pan from left to right to show the waterfall.
If this becomes a tourist attraction, I hope a large amount of people won't walk on the bridge at the same time. We've seen enough videos of bridges collapsing, and stuff like that, I would really feel bad for the bridge if it collapses, waste of money. I hope the bridge will be fine
People in the comments:man that's scary I'm not walking on that what imagine if I fell! The people who built it and had to stay hanging in the middle of two ledges hundreds of metres in the air in the same place for hours: AmATeURs.
Whenever I went to church camp, there was this bridge in the area that we had to cross to get to the gift shop area. It swung on purpose and was over a small creek, but I was always afraid that it would break someday. The counselors and my friends always said that it wasn’t going to break. And what happened years later? The bridge broke! And that is why I would never cross that super long bridge!
I will walk this bridge Vicariously through others. Or I will pretend like I’m walking across in my mind when I see video clips of the bridge. I’m not scared of heights but I am scared of what happens when u fall from heights
Next inside edition is going to be instagrammers that climbed up on the edge to get the perfect photo and have fallen to their death because there's no net around it
Think of the person who had to walk across this to make sure it's safe right after it was built
No
Think about the people who built it
Doing a coin flip to see who has to do it
They probably sent some sort of robot or rc car first.
they would have been connected to a safety cable to start off with just in case

Yea it looked safe to me too. Mostly because it wasn’t wood which degrades & decays over time. I looked like metal or iron.
@@no_facemo of course it is, its a bridge
@Nigel Lush suspension my ass niggas that shi move wit da wind
Much respect to the people who built this bridge. They’re the real brave ones.
I think it took like a lot of Helicopters to carry the entire bridge then drop it there
Half of the people here don't even know where Portugal is unfortunately, and just heard of us now.
Somos Portugal! Força! 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Lol Portugal is much easier to spot on the map compared to other European countries

This is not the longest suspension pedestrian bridge. It’s in Nepal with length of 567meters.

I would walk on it
This is like in cartoons where the villain comes with scissors and cuts the cables and laughs evilly as everyone falls
I will be crawling while crossing the bridge since I am scared of heights !
Yes. Without a doubt.

this is not the longest suspension bridge .its in Nepal🇳🇵unfortunately nobody knows.
Yeah I'd walk across it
why do i get a feeling someone will comment "this video aged well" a few years from now
Perhaps
10 minutes to cross?!
Id walk that so easy, it’s not even that scary or long
I will if it is also the worldest safest while being suspended
Yes, of course.
I wouldn't walk with 1 person, much less 100?! 🤷🏼♀️

Trust me most people WALK in neighbourhoods way more dangerous. This is nothing compared!
how do they make this
Yes.
Do you have $50 billion If so yes, If not, no thank you.
3 million is an absolute steal price to build that
Don't think of afraid of heights! If you think, you're DEAD!
I’d walk it. My mom would probably have a heart attack doing that.
Id be the friend violently shaking the bridge to scare my friends while yelling "its gonna fall!"
It is not the longest bridge in the world..Its Nepal's Baglung Suspension bridge of 567 metres..❤️❤️
im not scared i would do it i jumped out an airplane before
